They announced it was ready and when I was leaving, the employee said "Happy Memorial Day." Umm, when someone is going to a funeral, do you tell them to have a good time? Came in to try it out for lunch, it's a sit down or takeout spot. Looked for my go to options but, nothing was really speaking to me other than the tandoori chicken shawarma wrap so I tried it. My biggest pet peeve is when you give me something that I could have made easily and better at home and that's exactly what I got. A very anemic looking, overly spicy was that was severely overpriced. For the same amount I paid for this, I can get a lot more food elsewhere. I tried the beef shawarma, fries, and shanina. The beef in the shawarma had good seasoning, but it was dry and had more of a liver-like taste than beef. The fries were okay, though there wasn't much of it in the bag. I didn't enjoy the shanina--it had a strong, pungent flavor that didn't appeal to me. Where do I start, The customer service or the food. Or the DMV SPEAKER that announces the customer orders. Starting off the female cashier service was horrible, no greetings, very dry, or care for the customers. It was very frustrating and I felt as if maybe I was the problem until the other customers said the same thing. As a middle eastern man myself I felt ashamed to bring my American friends here to represent my culture and food. Once the food arrived I would rate it a 5/10 edible. Chicken shawarma and beef shawarma meat was dry. The garlic sauce was like mayo with garlic powder. The French fries were crispy but hallow and had an old oil taste. Really don't drag bad experiences but I hope the business owner takes the right actions to keep this middle eastern business striving. I got the tandoori chicken wrap combo and the wrap is really good! My only complaint is they don't have unsweetened tea. This place has the most unprofessional and irresponsible staff. I ordered the supreme wrap with no beef but the staff ended up making it with beef in it. When confronted, they didn't even bother to apologize or neither concerned about hurting others religious or personal choices towards certain types of food. What baffles me the most is that they don't even have a store manager overseeing any of these operations. This poses more concern on the quality of food as well. Overall the food was decent. Better than some of the one- and two-star reviews would lead one to believe. But there was an odd (to me) flavor throughout; I'm guessing I should have asked for something other than the tahini sauce. Service was fast and efficient. I got the Tandoori Chicken Shawarma meal! It was So good!! It was pretty spicy just the way I like it! I picked the homemade hummus and dolmas for my sides. The dolmas were okay. The hummus was delicious!!! The sweet lemonade was very sweet and tangy. It was great adding a lot of ice and water to soften the sweetness. We also had the Beef/lamb Shawarma fries. It was okay. The beef was okay. The fries were very salty. Other than that, it was okay. The beef shawarma rice bowl was pretty standard and good. I def want to come back here! The reason why I'm giving Shawarma Press the full 5 stars is due to the following - Consistency, great value for money and authenticity. Having grown up in the Middle East, I've had my fair share of shawarmas and I'd say this place along with the Halal Guys are the best around town. They have quite a few fusion options if you are so inclined, including a Tex Mex and Tandoori option, but I always like to stick to the basics. The "press" in Shawarma Press comes from the fact that once they wrap up your delicious filling, the sandwich is then pressed (Cuban sandwich style) to brown the outsides and also hold the filings inside better, while also delivering a more crispier exterior. Genius. The chicken shawarma was excellent. Simple filing of generous portions of sliced down chicken, pickles and loads of creamy garlic sauce. Remember folks - chicken means garlic sauce, beef means tahini. If your shawarma guy/gal doesn't adhere to this rule, they ain't shawarming right. You better like garlic sauce if you eat this sandwich because it comes with a lot of it, or tell them to hold back on it. I got the beef option as a rice bowl with chili sauce on the side (which is hot). The beef was so flavorful that I made a mental note to get it in sandwich form next time. The sides of fries and picked veg were standard, delicious and complimentary to the meal. The value for money is great - one sandwich or bowl will fill you up for a while. read more

The service is "eh." The food is decent. I had a wrap and it was needed during a lunch break, but the pricing is a bit high. A few other corporate drones, like myself, were having a lunch and I overheard their own thoughts about pricing, which I agreed with. Don't expect a warm and welcoming greeting or any real kindness, but expect a neat wrap with tasty ingredients with a bit of dryness on the meet. We came here to celebrate the Eid with a total of five people. Two of our orders were incorrect, and both of those orders were for people who fasted all day in observance of Ramadan. The hummus and falafel was okay. It definitely made my stomach a bit unsettled. We make and eat Mediterranean a lot with our Arabic family, so we have a little bit of a set standard that this food just didn't meet. I will say my actual shawarma was excellent, but my MIL was so disappointed in her food I can't give this more than 3 stars in good faith. I will also say that we came during Eid, so I expect that most of the older staff was off celebrating the holiday. Not only is the food cheap, fresh, and delicious, but everyone who works there is super helpful and sweet. My husband is super finicky about Indian and Mediterranean food having lived in Bangladesh almost his entire life, and he would eat their tandoori wrap with extra garlic sauce on the side for every meal if he could. It is just that gosh darn good. We ordered takeout this afternoon and I decided to get one of their plate specials because I wanted to try their hummus, and it was the best hummus I have ever had. You can tell it is made from scratch with every bite you take, it is so flavorful and fresh. The side salad I got as an attempt to me somewhat healthy was really good as well, but had some wilted lettuce mixed in which is understandable because who in their right mind would order the salad when there are so many better options. This is a mini-franchise so far with the parent location in Irving - which from the photos appears o be a traditional sit-down restaurant. This review is about the pop-up location inside the Walmart Super Center on South Cooper. It replaces a McDonald's. I lived in Europe for 20 plus years and had Shawarma three days a week for lunch in countries such as Denmark, Hungary and Russia. Always fresh, inexpensive and tasty. Not so this one. And, to be perfectly clear, this is not a complaint about the franchisee - which seems to be husband/wife or similar relatives. They informed me and I saw (quite ironically) that everything is delivered from a central store. That includes the actual meats: chicken and beef. No pork as this is a "halal" and the owner of the parent business is a Muslim. That's also no problem for me. Here are the issues: 1) VERY VERY fatty. I could see it on the shish (which unlike traditional Shawarma was not rotating. I ordered a single large beef anyway. Surprisingly unflavorable. 2) VERY SALTY. So salty, in fact, that it seemed to me it was a cover for the low quality meat. 3) Two pieces of gristle or bone in the wrap. Fortunately, after breaking a crown 20 years ago, I always mouth feel the food before chewing. 4) $10 plus tax for one wrap - no sides or anything. 5) The Shawarma in Europe was more gyro-y with typically a cream horseradish/dill/cucumber type sauce. Not here. More like eating a beef burrito from Taco Bell. Will not return, especially due to salt and bones issue. read more

This place makes some five-star falafels, definitely a must try! The hummus wrap is refreshing with crunchy veggies and a citrusy flavor. Ever since my friends from out of town ordered this style of food from DoorDash I've been craving it just about every weekend! So I treated myself to one of their rice bowls with the chicken and various sauces. Shawarma Press is quite popular in my neighborhood so I quickly found it on the app and my food was delivered quick. All of the ingredients in the bowl were super FRESH, including the basmati rice! I love when places know how to make rice correctly, especially when it is basmati. The rice was fluffy and not overcooked. The yogurt sauce was a bit too plentiful but I think I may have ordered too much of it via the app. I will get much less of it next time because it overpowered the flavors. Overall I am glad I have found this cuisine of food in my hood and love the DoorDash option when I am feeling lazy! So much more to try on the menu. read more
