When I was back in town, and on this side of town, I made it my mission to go, because I just love the food so much! The food has always been consistently good, and is always made to order. I always go with a chicken shawarma wrap, but this time chose to go with the plate, as they had it on lunch special. I don't recall ever getting the rice before, so I was really glad to try it. It was light and fluffy and seasoned just right. The chicken was so warm and had all the yummy earthy flavors that I loved, which went great with the bread and hummus! I love the fries, because although they are simple, they've always been hot and fresh out the fryer!!! Seasoned just right as well. We had a late lunch at Shawarma World and found the space is larger than expected. We ordered lunch specials, including chicken and beef shawarma. While we're not sure if they're authentic, they were definitely to our taste, and the kids loved them. As for the Lebanese salad, it wasn't to my taste, but that might be because I'm not Lebanese. *Eat here!!* My friend and I ate here on 2/21 while visiting from out of town, and it was amazing! We were greeted on arrival, and the workers explained the menu thoroughly to us and recommending options. I got the chicken shawarma with the labneh with garlic appetizer. Wow, if I lived in Dallas this would be the goto for shawarma. Delicious and a fabulous portion of food that am struggling to finish. I ate in and the restaurant was clean and orderly. The fountain drinks provided extra refills and I ordered a meal with a Lebanese salad expecting a little bowl and it's a whole plate. This is a great place to get some awesome Mediterranean food. (My current food pics don't do this place justice.) My husband got the beef shawarma, & I got a lamb gyro. Both were made fresh to order. First, stacking meat on a vertical rotating skewer doesn't make it shawarma. This is the driest meat I ever ate in my life. Shawarma needs to be juicy fatty and full of spices flavor. I was so disappointed in this place, I had high expectations. Sadly it did not deliver. Meat is dry and missing that unique shawarma flavor, French fries are uninteresting and hummus is eh. The beef shawarma was ok at best, nice flavor but still dry. I could barley chew the chicken. Pita is paper thin and I wouldn't consider a pita at all. Went in Sunday Sept 21st, got a chicken plate and it was amazing. Everything was on point. 10/10. Decided to back Monday Sept 22nd around 2:30. I don't know what happened. Food tasted really bad. Shawarma World finally took over this bit of the strip of restaurants on MacArthur Blvd and they're doing shawarma well. My latest experience involved ordering a chicken shawarma plate and a beef shawarma sandwich. Chicken shawarma plate - Comes with shaved, flavorful chicken, rice, pita bread, pickles, peppers and garlic sauce. The meat was very well cooked, not dry and roasted on that skewer long enough to gain that light crisp that makes it all worthwhile. I did feel that the rice was overdone, which was my only criticism of the meal. The beef shawarma sandwich was good, had a healthy helping of meat to veggies ratio; I love shawarma places that include pickles in their sandwich (heads up if you don't). And since I moved I have missed Gyros more than anything... now, I will say I think it's weird to put lettuce on a gyro (should just be tomato, onion & a pickle), but the meat and portion size at this place is SO GOOD!! I'd recommend getting the plate so you can build your gyro without veggies and enjoy the side of yummy rice too.
