Whether in Dallas or Houston, Dimassi's has repeatedly demonstrated consistency across their buffets. I can expect the same variety of healthy and delicious food no matter which location I enter. They serve suitable options for both vegan and omnivore diets, and I typically find success in taking a diverse group of people here more than any other buffet. There's no shortage of dishes to experiment with. My personally favorites are the gyro, lamb shanks (only available on certain days), zaatar pie, and tilapia. My only advice is to start with small portions so that you can try more dishes before you're full. Their consistency spans across cleanliness and service as well. The seating arrangements vary from location to location, but I'm always met with clean floors and acceptable restrooms. Service is somewhat minimal since the buffet is self serve and you only pay at the counter at the end, but I've never had a bad experience with the managers or cashiers. The weekday lunch rate (M-F 11am-4pm) has great value at $18+tax. For the amount of high quality dishes available, this is quite the bargain. Weekday dinners (4pm to closing, excluding Friday) get a little more expensive at $20 and then weekends (F after 4pm, Sat, and Sun) goes up to $24, which is still acceptable in my opinion. We had an excellent lunch here on a Friday. Despite being a buffet, the salads and meats were fresh. The atmosphere is almost like a cafeteria style. However, everything, including the bathrooms, were very clean. The service was minimal because you served yourself. They have quite a few assortment of desserts and drinks as well. Dimassi's is WOW WOW WOW!!! We came here with our large combined family of 13 with several children for the first time 2 days ago for lunch. Every single one of us absolutely loved it. This is by far one of the best buffet spots I've been to since my move to Texas. Everything it's ALWAYS SUPER fresh! There are a lot of veggies, veggie dishes, rice, rice dishes fruits, meats (even lamb on certain days) & desserts! The Naan is delish ! My favorite is the Lentil Soup!!! Drove in from 3 hours away and this place was by my hotel. I love meditation style food and have never tried a buffet version before, so I was excited when I found this place. It was amazing! First, the staff were very friendly and wonderful. There were so many different food options to choose from and I tried to try as many as I could! I found that no matter what I tried, it all seemed fresh, not like it had been sitting out there a while or anything. My only feedback, is that I would like to of seen more fish options. This place is horrible! Food was old and dried up. And after being there in 15 mins they decided to close and start taking the food. Which was fine cause it wasn't great at all. But the ice cream machine that my kids wanted, they turned off and emptied it. They also took all the other desert. None of us enjoyed our food and on top of that the hostess was rude. Can't beat it for the quality and price of the buffet! You can try a little bite of everything until you refine your tastes - and I really appreciated this. My hubby & I were in the area and tried this for a second time for lunch. So glad we did. First round, I got a plate with babaghanoush (roasted eggplant dip), dolmas (lemony rice stuffed grape leaves), hummus (both the avocado & spicy are good), cucumber mint salad, gyro (roasted lamb) with onions & fresh jalapenos, a small bowl of lentil soup, okra w tomatoes, roasted eggplant, a pita with oregano & sesame seeds and rose water. It was all very tasty. While I tried to just get "a bite" of it, I ended up with a plate full of food. Still, I had to try a bite of my hubby's meatball - so for round 2, that's what I went back for. This time, I scooped some artichokes up from the salad area, then targeted the longer slices of eggplant in tomato sauce, more gyro because that's my favorite, and tried the chicken. There was a red, roasted kind, and another kind. Both great, I preferred the red roasted kind. I skipped the bread this time. It's all very good. So, give them a try when you're in Las Colinas. Even after 2 plates, I didn't feel horribly stuffed - and it's all pretty healthy. I think my favorite eggplant was the longer kind in rich tomato sauce. AND don't forget to grab a small bowl of the red, sweet chili sauce if you like it spicy. The fresh jalapenos were hotter than the roasted one so there's always that. Go there. Get some. It is hot or cold and multiple choices in each food group for example hummus, there was reg, avocado, and spicy :) Salads were plentiful, main or meat options were bountiful with fish curry or gyro or 5 others! The ambience is a strip malls settings, very standard tables chairs with no fluff and its a giant open room so no noise damper what so ever. Enjoyed a pretty good lunch at Dimassis today. It was my first time having mediterranean food. Upon entering there's a sign that basically says, sit where you like, eat & drink what you like and pay on the way out. There was plenty of seating and the restaurant was very clean. They provide hand sanitizers and gloves for you to wear as you serve yourself. The employees were seated eating lunch as a team, which I liked because they were serving us food they eat themselves. I tried several different foods from the salads, to the mushroom pasta, chicken kabab, fried chicken, curry soup. Falafel and a few desserts. Currently low carbbing so I'm pretty restricted on what I can eat. I strolled in with my party of 4 on a Friday afternoon and was seated immediately. We took a little browsing tour of our choices to strategically move food around in our belly before jumping in. When we first arrive, it was pretty slow, which was nice for us to try some items without having to worry about waiting in line. After my first plate (granted I'm a slow eater), the crowd was starting to pour in. I ended up having to wait a little bit for the crowd to thin out. I'd give this place a 4.5/5 overall. The first thing that I like about the place is the community seating. Not too fussy, find a place to sit in their long family style seating arrangement and share a smile with a neighbor if it happens to be packed! Therefore, I'd definitely say come to the place if you're with a big group of mates or with family, and not maybe to share a romantic, intimate evening - except if you don't care because the food is good :D The varieties that they have on hand makes the experience worth it and even more so if you're vegetarian/vegan. Mediterranean food always offers the plus of giving those who don't eat meat a healthy number of choices and this place is no different - I'll only be highlighting the ones I specifically thought I wanted to point out, either for good or bad reasons, but needless to say, the range of dishes are beyond what I'm describing. The fatoush and tabbouleh are excellent, and the falafel balls are humongous, crispy and not too dense inside. They have a few more salad options, but my favorite vegetarian savory dish here bar none is the cauliflower - crispy, slight char and so much flavor. The tahini and hummus are on point and I really like the bread that they provide. The meat dishes while plentiful took a back seat when compared to the vegetarian dishes because I thought a number of them were dry/overcooked - examples included the meatballs, kabobs and shredded beef. The chicken thigh dish though was on point and the best of the lot. Special shout out to the dessert options, because they were so good. The best of the lot were the kataif, but the baklava, honey cake and rice pudding were not far behind. Great options for a decent price puts this place on my list of go to Mediterranean spots. It's served buffet style (bonus!) and very laid back atmosphere that is friendly and casual. There's lots of vegan options and their pita bread came out so soft and warm I don't even know how many pieces I ate.
