A nice little restaurant that offers a variety of parottas and curries to go with it. The interior wall decor of the restaurant is very interesting. Have not dined in and my orders have always been to go. Tried the Trichy Anifa Biryanis and loved the flavor. A unique and authentic preparation for sure. The rasmalai has 3 tiny pieces of malai which is not worth the price. Found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Parking in not an issue and orders can be placed thru most platforms. This restaurant is a nice place for parotta lovers. The parottas are really good here and have a variety of gravies to go with. Apart from parottas, I found their Aappam to be wonderful. The prices are average and the interior decors and wall paintings have been revamped and its amazing. read more

After an extensive search for a South Indian restaurant in Irving, I determined Parotta Express was the one to try first. And boy, was I glad we did! Their menu is enormous and a bit overwhelming, but the employees are very helpful with suggestions if you get stuck. I personally love restaurants where I've never heard of the dishes, so this was a non issue for me. I went with my parents, and we ended up with the following: Chicken Biryani Combo | "Combo" is the understatement of the century, as this came with SO much food. It had: - Kozhi Chicken Rasam: A soup, very comforting and delicious. - Chicken Sukka: A fiery, spicy, flavor bomb which was my favorite thing here - Chicken Biryani: Literally a TRAY full of it--so good. - Parotta: It's their namesake! A flakey flatbread that everyone will love. - Raitha: Something to help you cool down, should you need it. - Salna: Went deliciously w/ the parotta - Dessert Chettinad Chicken | I really loved the flavor of this dish, and especially loved the curry leaves. Parotta 2 Pcs w/ Chicken Salna | Did not realize that the chicken biryani combo came with this, but we were glad to have some extra parotta & salna on hand! Onion Dosa | We definitely did not need to order this given we had so much food already. I'd probably skip the dosa next time, but it was still good! Everything here had such immense depth of flavor and I was such a fan. We're Korean, so we can definitely handle our spice, but I do have to heed a warning if your spice tolerance is not as high as ours--it's serious and packs a real punch! We had plenty of leftovers from our order, and loved trying so many dishes that were new to us. We also asked the waiter to help us identify which dishes were what after we finished eating, because there were so many dishes at our table and we enjoyed it all so much, and he was very gracious and patient with us. UPDATE: We visited parotta express yesterday for dinner & we regret the visit. We ordered the usual parotta & veg salna/korma along with pepper chicken dry. When asked about the spice, we mentioned we can tolerate the spice. The girl at the counter comes and served us a dish that doesn't look like pepper fry dry in any angle or direction. It was semi wet and was tossed in raw red chilli powder masking all the other flavour. The chicken as usual was not fresh and came with a flavour especially associated with old chicken. I had to throw it away!!! Also the veg salna was over powered with a spice and was lukewarm. Ruined my entire appetite! That's my bottom line. We noticed that the restaurant smells something foul the moment you enter. Never going back again. This review is based on my experience here. Instead of having a plethora of options in the menu, just focus on your best and deliver them up to the mark!!! As their name Parotta served here is just amazing. It's flakey, crispy and soft inside. We are visiting this over 2 years and found parotta to be their best dish. However on different occasions we tried other items in the menu but we decided to stick with parotta. The bread is served hot with piping hot veg kurma which is flavorful and has a slight sweet punch to it. You can order the same with chicken and honestly didn't really like the flavour of the chicken piece used in the chicken salna. The chicken was not fresh!! We order chicken 65 which was bland not flavorful as it is supposed to be and felt that the chicken had nice golden color but was not properly fried enough. I even tried appam with coconut milk which was ok. The only complaint is that the coconut milk could be little thicker. On a different occasion tried their fish fry appetiser. The fish itself had a strong smell and it was fried to perfection but had zero flavour!!!! I took it home and tossed it in the trash!!! read more

This place is terrible. We walked in and it appeared that you seat yourself. All the tables were dirty, so we were wondering where to sit! Then we realized you order at the counter, there is no table service. When we went to order, only veg curry they had was eggplant! I would go to this place anytime and any day. Every dish in this place are delicious. I loved this place. I would recommend this place to everyone. The location of this place a bit different from regular Indian restaurants that's the reason it's pretty empty but trust me the food is delicious. A hidden gem. We've been here many times their mutton curry with Parotta is the best. We tried omelette, egg curry, chicken drumsticks they're good but I really like the shell less crab curry on the special it's different and tasted good. My rating is based on the food and service, not based on the physical location. So this place is new, I saw them when I was stopping off next door for dinner one night and thought I'd come back another time and try them out. I couldn't remember the name and I was unable to find them on line so I had to drive over to place my order. Not a criticism but room for improvement. The place itself is more fast food layout versus nice dining, I will probably always do take out. I had no idea what to order and asked for advice from the person behind the counter. First, Parotta. I didn't know what it was, but since it's named after it I had to try it. Think, Naan combined with a Croissant. It was AWESOME. The perfect bread to dip into your food, especially a good curry. If you think you want one, get 2. If you think you want 2, get 3. Next, they recommended the Karivepilai Chicken. It was good but I probably won't order it again. Lots of flavor and a decent kick in spice level. It could have used more chicken and I would have preferred a dish that didn't include bones. My recommendation to the new owners, have descriptions on your menu, both in your restaurant and online. I will be back to try something different, but it would help if I knew what I was ordering. read more
