I'm so happy I chose this restaurant. My mother has had some extremely life challenging medical issues, and her appetite has been taking a hit with a lot of weight loss. She's beginning to make a turn, and when I said, "Let's eat something different," she responded with.." How about Chinese?" I live in California and hay no clue which one to pick and I waited a little late to ask her, I had to research quickly. I landed on the top 3 using chat gbt, and then I used Yelp to research them individually. I added additional instructions on each item I ordered in hopes that I covered my bases. After placing my order with various selections (Mom's super picky) for alternate options, the restaurant called me and asked a couple of questions for additional clarity and even made recommendations. She was beyond kind and warm spirited. I ordered at least one option from all menu categories. My total was a little over $100 for just the 2 of us, and delivery tip, etc. Note: My mother's residence is very challenging with parking and delivery when it's the first time. The grub hub driver was confused, but we communicated well The packaging was better than most. I stopped using delivery due to the drivers ability to get into the fix and sample items. They packed it so well that I could tell nothing was tampered. The food was DELICIOUS!!! The freshest Chinese food I've had in at least 15 years. Especially with delivery. We were beyond pleased. Every single item from the two types of egg rolls, pot stickers, wonton soup, beef and broccoli, shrimp fried rice, and the kung pao chicken/beef/shrimp chef's combination was fantastic. We didn't taste too much sodium (Mom's fear), and the homemade mustard was good but didn't give us the extra kick we're used to. The homemade red pepper sauce was well made. We love spicy. Well, the food was subpar about your average Chinese or Japanese food. The service it was very quick very subtle. The ambience was very bland very noisy. Mainly just watched the people at the front counter. Just talking a lot and goof off and talk about business. Overall wasn't very impressed at all. However the quality...the food was meh. The chicken wings had very little to no flavor and had an odd type of breading. The general tsos chicken and sesame chicken were very basic and had dint have much flavor either. It was a sweet and salty complex but no real flavor. When you get all in you are pleasantly surprised at how clean it is inside. There is a TV on the wall and the tables are very clean. Walk up to order and they are there quickly to take your order. The food was good based on a previous visit, but the young lady working in the office needs to work on her customer service skills. I ordered orange chicken and egg drop soup. I was given two prices for the soup based on the size (Small or Large). They have three sample containers on the counter to show the size difference. I asked about the smallest container which was apparently for extra sauce. I advised the third container threw me off. The lady from the office advised me that I should read basically before asking a question. I should have left, but I was still processing the interaction and ordering food. Not only are their portions generous, but they also season their offerings well. The shrimp fried rice is highly recommended - lots of shrimp cooked really well - juicy and not overcooked to a hockey puck like other places. Lo mein (with chicken) has always been a go-to and tasty if you prefer a noodle dish. The spicy garlic pork which I got for the first time was done with PLENTY of bamboo shoots and water chestnuts (the pork itself was not nearly as generous in there). A potential drawback is that if you prefer your food clean and with less grease, then this is NOT the establishment for you, because all the food is slicked in it. What the heck happened? I used to come here 3 or 4 days a week when I worked in the area. Boom! COVID hit, did this place not get the vaccination notice? Everything is served in styrofoam to go containers with flimsy plastic ware designed for kids. Half the tables are gone, plastic barriers are up everywhere, the private dining room is stacked floor to ceiling with boxes and supplies. They really need to return to pre-COVID operations. Prices have increased and the free rice noodles are now $1/bag. Someone needs to tell them they can hire a dishwasher again. They are closed on Sundays now. We took the food to go and on the car ride home I held it in my lap because it smelled SO good and I was just taking in big breaths above the bag lol.
