They were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. We also ordered the General Tso's chicken, and without exaggeration, it was the best General Tso's chicken I've ever had. I honestly can't rave enough about this place. If I lived closer, I'd probably eat here every day. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service, will definitely be back!

Sesame chicken was crunchy outside, moist inside -- perfectly executed. Fried rice and crab rangoons held their own alongside it. Dinner portion with fried rice and crab rangoons on the side. $27.06 before tip for food that punches well above that price point. I'll be honest -- I'm picky about Chinese food. Fortune House earned it anyway. SAS Verdict: Approved. One of the better lunch finds in Irving. Don't sleep on it.

There was significantly more onion than beef, and the beef itself was not tender. The overall flavor was also lacking and not what we expected. - Salt & Pepper Pork was also not very tender and lacked the flavorful seasoning we were hoping for. - Eggplant (lunch portion) was the highlight of the meal. The eggplant had a good flavor and was enjoyable. However, the egg roll that came with the lunch was soggy rather than crispy. Overall, the eggplant was good, but the Mongolian beef and salt & pepper pork were disappointing, especially considering the dinner portion and quality of the meat.

Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. The fried rice was decent, but I can't say much for the almond chicken. It had almost no flavor, there was no sauce, and some of the vegetables did not seem fresh. The celery in particular looked like it had lost its color, which honestly made me hesitant to eat much of the dish. The chicken itself also didn't really taste like chicken to me. I had a similar experience with the sesame chicken. It looked like sesame chicken, but again, the meat just didn't taste right to me. The broccoli and beef was probably the best dish we ordered and had the most flavor, although even that was pretty mild. Overall, a lot of the food had a very bland, almost boiled or older-meat taste that I really couldn't put my finger on. I probably wouldn't eat here again. If you're on a budget, the portions are decent, the service is fast and courteous, and you do get a good amount of food--but for me, the lack of flavor and concerns about the freshness outweighed those positives.

The sesame chicken and lo mein were both really good, great portions for the price too. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it's more of a takeout spot than a sit-down experience, but for the quality and value, that's a minor thing. Definitely coming back!

We stopped by on a Sunday on July 5. It was packed even at 2:30 pm but that is a good thing because food was moving. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a better looking on the inside than it was on the outside. It had a cafeteria feel and several customers have complained about the worn seats and tables. It was fine by us since we knew this was not fine dining, They had plenty of hot items and the temperatures were pretty hot for the hot item preventing germ spread. I did not dare to try the cold items such as the sushi, sashimi, and raw oysters. Other customers have fared fine. The food was tasty but it also a place of gluttony. The one off putting thing was that when I went to bathroom, someone had thrown up in the sink. I pushed on because this was not the restaurant's fault. Some folks complain that they charge for toddlers. I did not mind because their prices were so low, I was wondering how they were making a profit. I returned to the bathroom later, and this time, someone had thrown up on the floor. The staff was cleaning all of this mess rather quickly. This is place of gluttony as customers stuffed their faces. Chances are that they had been in the sun and drank a little too much alcohol before they came. It was interesting experience since most of the customers seemed to be Mexican and African Immigrants. I liked the vibe of the place even though I was a little cautious at first. Go check it out of you have an open mind and aren't grossed out easily. I am not sure if I will return, but I am glad I at least tried this place out.
