    veg manchurian
    Rakshak R.

food is nice, their veg manchurian was very crispy and had a dark, soy forward flavor. I wish it had a little more sweetness but that is personal preference. it is on the spicier side, so be cautious even when choosing "mild". there is also a gratuity added for large parties (18%). Service was great!

Restaurant service, the way to serve to customer is really worst ever have seen in united states. 1. I have ordered multiple dishes, and no serving spoons or forks. When I asked couple of times and they provided one. after that when I asked third time, they brought plastic spoon to which you can see in bowl. 2. When I asked to front desk, she said I am not aware and when I said you were here when person brought then she changed the statement and saying most of the spoons are in wash so. Is it really worth answer? 3. I ordered paneer momos, at no angle it was looks like momos, and taste was really worst. 4. About this how do I contact to manager, she said owner you can contact, and I took his number, called him 4 times, but he didn't responded yet. I would highly recommend not to go this restaurant. Thanks

An excellent Indo-Chinese eatery in Irving. Really enjoyed the chicken manchow soup, tandoori momos, and chicken lollipop. The momos are something very unique. Can also bring your own alcoholic drinks and have it on the patio. The patio ambiance is quite nice. Would recommend coming here.

My gf and I love to check out new spots in the neighborhood so we stopped by for a late lunch on the way home. The place is very cute with dim lighting and a colorful mural covering the wall. Upon entering there was only one family sitting and no one waiting. There were several staff members either sitting, standing or cleaning. Yet we weren't greeted which I found odd. We had to walk to the counter before someone asked if we wanted to dine in. You pick your own table so we chose a booth and waited a good 10 mins before our waitress came to take our order. Mind you, we were the only ones dining. When she came, she asked if we were ready to order and we were because we had plenty of time to review the menu at this point. Our food arrived about 15 mins later and I must say it was amazing. The lollipop chicken wings weren seasoned and fried to perfection. The Manchurian fried rice with egg was so flavorful. The goat masala was top tier and so was the garlic naan. There was enough to take home and we absolutely wanted to take the rest home. Since no one came back to ask if we needed anything or to check on us throughout the meal, we had to flag down a lady to ask for togo containers and the check. She brought it over promptly as well as the check and then we were left. I would definitely give the food here 5 stars but the service leaves a bit to be desired. Next time, we'll order take out.

Burnt Garlic Fried Rice - I dont recommend.

I stopped by here with my colleagues on a weekday. We were promptly seated. Ordering took time as we were 5/6 of us and took time to decide. Service : one of our colleague got his food so late, most of us were done eating. I ordered burnt Garlic fried rice, it only has rice. It was missing Burnt Garlic or fried flavors. I asked for spicy and it was not even mild. The colleague who got it late is the only person in the group who like the food. I am not going back

The DRUMS OF HEAVEN (Chicken Lollipops) are a signature dish and highly recommended!

Introducing MONK's DESI CHINESE offering a fusion of BOMBAY style INDO-CHINESE and NORTH+SOUTH INDIAN staples on the very same menu in Irving, TX! Check it out! "Ma ville-de-naissance" (the city of my birth) KOLKATA is also the birthplace of INDIAN CHINESE cuisine which traces its genesis back to Hakka Chinese traders who settled in the city in the late 1700s, when it was the capital of the British empire in India. At that time, Chinese immigrants were largely silk traders, dentists, carpenters, and leather tannery owners. The tannery owners and commenced cooking their food using local ingredients. After selling food off their carts on the streets, they opened Indian Chinese restaurants in TIRETTA BAZAR and TANGRA, the two "CHINA TOWNS in Kolkata", which became a big hit with the BENGALIS of KOLKATA and a new genre called 'INDO-CHINESE' was born. Kolkata now boasts of some of the finest Indo-Chinese establishments in the country, including MAINLAND CHINA, BAR-B-Q NATION, SOI and RED HOT CHILLI PEPPER! INDO-CHINESE cuisine soon made it's way to BOMBAY (today's Mumbai) in the 1970s and BOMBAY-CHINESE was born, with nuanced differences relative to the KOLKATA CHINESE, as well as entirely new innovations like Chicken Lollipops, Manchow Soup, Sichuan and Manchurian style Chicken, Chinese Fried Rice, American Chopsuey, that was not served up in KOLKATA. I have fond and indelible memories of the INDIAN-CHINESE served up by street vendors from their carts in BOMBAY as a kid, since there were hardly any restaurants other than those at the TAJ and OBEROI, which served authentic Indo-Chinese, before the legendary CHINA GARDEN, MAINLAND CHINA, and similar establishments proliferated and turned this genre into celebrity in BOMBAY as well! So the quest for authentic KOLKATA+ BOMBAY style INDO-CHINESE cuisine is a never ending one, with each experience in the DFW Metroplex, triggering an yearning for one even more memorable! While RED HOT CHILLI PEPPER has introduced authentic KOLKATA style INDO-CHINESE food in the DFW Metroplex with three locations in Frisco, Richardson and McKinney, we chanced upon the newly opened MONK's DESI CHINESE in our neck of the woods in Irving, which serves a fusion of BOMBAY-CHINESE with NORTH and SOUTH INDIAN veg and non-veg staples on the same menu and is open until 1 AM every night which is a great news for us, especially on Movie nights over the weekends, when most establishments are closed by the time you emerge from the theaters! MONK's DESI CHINESE is run by an affable and humble young man named DINESH MATTAPATTI who moved to DFW from New Jersey, and is passionate re: serving high quality cuisine with excellent customer service at extremely competitive prices...a winning combination that will bring us back for more! We have checked them out three times already and have had a very positive experience everytime! We loved their VEG MANCHOW and VEG CILANTRO LEMON SOUPS and recommend their signature DRUMS OF HEAVEN (the classic Chicken Lollipops marinated in spices and served up crispy fried) which complement the soups really well as the hors d'oeuvres! Also recommended is their 'DYNAMITE' which is their interpretation of the "CHICKEN 65" (that originated in South-India during British rule), which was flavorful and zesty with the Paneer firm and cooked to perfection. For the entrées, we enjoyed the SICHUAN HOME STYLE CHICKEN (which they can concoct with Paneer, Cauliflower or assorted veggies) and the PANEER CHILLI PEPPER with their BURNT GARLIC FRIED RICE which is really flavorful and highly recommended. We would also love to check out their VEG and CHICKEN GREEN CHILLI which is a signature dish, as well as the VEG/ CHICKEN MANCHURIA on our next expedition! We went back to check out their INDIAN delicacies on the menu and were not disappointed at all. We checked out their GONGURA MUTTON CURRY (from Andhra Pradesh) with their soft and hot off the tandoor GARLIC NAAN, the signature GOAT FRY BIRYANI as well as the newest addition to the menu, the 'DONNE MUTTON BIRYANI' which is their interpretation of the iconic DINDIGUL THALAPAKATTU MUTTON BIRYANI made with the short grain Seeraga Samba rice which we candidly preferred over the GOAT FRY BIRYANI! Net net, MONK's IRVING is gonna be one of our go-to locations in Irving, when we long for "comfort DESI* CUISINE" offering a lot of choices, coupled with excellent customer service at a price that won't break the bank, especially after enjoying a movie over the weekends! So what are you waiting for? Check it out: MONK's DESI CHINESE 411 E Royal Ln, Suite 180, Irving, TX 75039. Tel # (972) 634-7646. MENU: https://monksirving.com/menu/index#! *"DESI" - People of South-Asian origin from the Indian Sub-Continent refer to themselves as "Desis" like "Paisano" in Italy! Sweet Corn Soup
    Darshil S.

The Ambiance is very nice and warm. The service was ok we ended up asking for refund because we ordered street style fried rice, sweet corn soup, paneer momos, and paneer chili garlic. The sweet corn soup was ok a bit bland but not too bad. The momos were good not fresh but the taste had set in which was really nice. The fried rice was not fried rice it was buryani which taste nothing like Indo Chinese food. For a place that has Indian Chinese in the name it was disappointing. The paneer chili when asked the waiter off Indo-Chinese she said this is our best and when it came out it tasted like very bland paneer butter masala. When we asked the waitress if this is indo-Chinese she said no this is north Indian Chinese. No clue what that even means. Save your money and go anywhere near by it will be better than this.

I haven't had vada pav sliders before but the filling is kind of like fried samosa filling without the dough. It's good. The serving size of the biryani was very impressive. You can see from the photo that they fill the container and then add another mound of rice on top of that - basically 2 servings (we took one home). And they didn't skimp on the chicken either! The chicken is cooked perfectly, the sauces are a great complement and this is an excellent dish. The Lunch Thali gives you a lot of bang for your buck and mine included ~5 pieces of fish fry, about the same amount of veg pakora, yogurt dip, chicken curry with rice, 2 different soups, a naan/tortilla thing, and a carrot dessert (like a halwa). All had good flavor and the soups have a nice spicy kick to them. However, since all the dishes for the thali come off the lunch line (ie all premade), the tortilla, fish and pakoras had been sitting out for awhile and not too hot. Had they come out fresh from the fryer, I might have given this experience 5 stars. As it stands, I'll probably be back for lunch anyways - and the thali is available 7 days a week!

I was greeted upon entering the establishment and was assisted by two of the workers. I explained that I was new to the area and not familiar with the menu. The wait time was around 15 mins. The restaurant looked like it is well maintained and the bathroom looked maintained which is nice as they do reflect on any and every establishment. The dining area looked as if they set up for a buffet/family style meals, and there are about 3 tables for outdoor dining. Overall this was a pleasant experience and I'd say that the food was very pleasant in taste and appearance. As my order was ToGo, my expectations would be that the bag would have had plastic ware and napkins. This oversight was a major disappointment and a huge lacking to detail for a new patron and paying customer. I had to use the lids of the rice container as a makeshift spoon.
