Staff keep the location clean, menus up to date, and willingly cook fresh batches of whatever you order, generally should you request them to do so. The only concern I've ever had was the wait time for some orders, but it's understandable for orders that are either relatively complex or large in quantity. The food here is the main star, and what we really drew me in, following a sampling I had at a private event. The fried chicken is definitely stain-your-fingers greasy, but not overtly salty or chewy as many have come to expect from other options. They also have unique tenders, a sampling of chicken sandwiches to either whet your appetite or complement your meal and multiple sides all iconic to the 'soul food' scene in some fashion. Their sauces are varyingly suitable accompaniments, while the Honey biscuits rounds out every bite they're in perfectly. I'm a personal repeat offender when it comes to family sized orders, as true to their name, they satisfy the whole family for an understandably adequate price. Never heard of this place before but I was checking out their menu and it started calling my name. They have a lot of unusual side items which was a draw for me. I definitely want to try out their red beans and rice next time, as well as sample their chicken tenders. For this first visit I got a 2 piece with a biscuit which starts at $3.99. If you want all white meat or a mix of white and dark it's an extra 50 cents which isn't bad. This indicates to me that you're likely to get dark meat if you don't specify. I also noticed if you wanted to choose the chicken, such as all drums, it's an extra $2. The wing I got was kind of scrawny but the breast had a lot of meat and more than made up for it. The skin is definitely extra crispy which was tasty. The biscuit was crispy and had honey baked in the top layer. I'm more of a yeast roll person but if I'm going to do biscuits, this is the way I prefer them. Worth ordering on their own or an extra if you like biscuits. The portion size was large for the price and they also offer family meals. Since the prices were so reasonable I decided to sample a few sides. The size was very generous for the price but there wasn't enough chicken in there to order it again. I had several bites in a row without any chicken. The fried corn on a cob is $1.99 and I ordered it because I never heard of such a thing. It's deep fried with a breading, but the breading is really thin so the corn still comes through and it's got a good crunch. I really enjoyed this and would absolutely order this again. In fact, I enjoyed the chicken, biscuit and corn on the cob so much that I didn't care the other two sides were below average. I would definitely return for those items or to try new items and I would absolutely get the corn and biscuits again- yum! Be warned in case you are taking it to go, their napkins are laughable. They are the tiny, thin square gas station napkins you get with your coffee so you'll need a lot. I mean, it's fried chicken, you got to have napkins. Came in craving for fried chicken. It was about 30 minutes until they closed and we placed a order for the family 12 piece. They didn't have enough and told us it was going to be a 15 minute wait for our order, so we decided to wait. They were really nice and told us they'll put more in or could've just told us they weren't frying anymore. But it was a good idea to have waited. By the way this is a hala certified restaurant.
