One thing to note is that some of the side dishes have different prices on online orders when you add them on to your entrees vs. adding them separately ($.99 + difference). **Average Dish Cost(s): Under $8. **Food: 3 Piece White Meat Meal ($9.28)-- I chose white meat ($.80) and extra biscuits ($1.89) which increased the price from $6.59. The chicken was extremely delicious. It tasted fresh despite my order being late in the day and the skin was crisp and seasoned so well that I ate all of it. Usually I'll peel the skin off and discard it, but not this time. The white meat was juicy and nothing pink was found. 10/10. Extra biscuits ($1.89)-- These biscuits were some of the best I've ever had. Their outward appearance didn't match how delicious they were. They were soft and had an essence of honey to them. Side Mashed Potatoes ($2.99)-- I admit I was hesitant to eat this because I expected more of a brown gravy, but these were amazing! Not too salty and they tasted fresh. **Seating: Looked to have regular table style seating that is closed off due to the virus issue. **Location: It's located next to a bunch of other establishments within a mini strip type of place. Google GPS lead me to a park that's a but away, so be careful. Lots of parking spaces.

Overall I rate this place 8 s/10. ------------ The Zinger burger (basically a spicy chicken sandwich) is my go to order from here, a solid 8.5/10. They always put a huge chicken patty in there and a generous amount of sauce. You really can't go wrong. Their chicken itself is an 8/10, upgraded to 8.5 with the garlic sauce. They really got the spices down right. I would not recommend the Mac and cheese (5/10), it's very watery and lacked any flavor. The potato wedges were great though. (Although I'm not sure how you could mess those up).

The fries I received this time were still good, but those first fries were easily five-star worthy on their own. I'm not a fan of coming to this area because it tends to be very crowded, but I'll gladly make the trip whenever I'm craving Bojangles or happen to be nearby, like I was today.

I had the catfish nuggets they are extremely well seasoned and had the perfect crispness to them. I was extremely impressed with the fresh cut french fries. The fries are not frozen! You could tell the potatoes were cut fresh and fried in that definitely comes through in the flavor. I can never understand why so many restaurants use a frozen french fry :-( however Rico's uses fresh cut fries! :-) so no need to be disappointed in some other restaurants said Frozen fries, just come to Rico's and enjoy in house fresh cut french fries! I was very impressed with the remodel of the restaurant, the decor was much more modern in up-to-date and the restaurant is extremely clean. It is nothing like the previous business in this location when it comes to cleanliness and decor. They have done an amazing job turning around that building in putting in a very modern well decorated in extremely clean restaurant in that space. I am anxious to go back and try some of the new Mexican food dishes on the menu. Rico's is a definite place for lunch or dinner. To be completely honest we did try the breakfast and was not impressed at all, we will not be back for breakfast. But for dinner we are 100% going to be there again! The fried catfish in the fresh cut french fries absolutely cannot be missed. They now serve chips and salsa at the table when you come in, the chips are fresh made in house, and are very good. The chips are extremely thin and crispy and you can still see the hot glistening oil because they're freshly made right before they're brought out to the table. The hot sauce is excellent! But be cautious because the two times that we've had it it was extremely spicy. :-) but then I love a very spicy hot sauce so I was in heaven! The hot sauce has great flavor!! Once I go back and try the Mexican food on the menu I'll update this review. Definitely make a point of coming and trying Rico's and supporting a new family owned restaurant in South Irving. The building is newer and kept really clean, but thankfully the original 1950s-style sign still stands tall--an Irving classic and a reminder of its roots. This isn't fancy cuisine; it's good, greasy, satisfying food done right. The Burgers: Whether you grab a single or double, you'll leave happy. But if you're feeling bold, go triple or even quadruple--it's going to be a monster. Juicy, greasy, exactly what a fast-food burger should be. Sides: Fries are solid, onion rings have a thick, flavorful batter (pretty sure they make them fresh, though I won't swear to it). Both hit the spot. Other Classics: The chicken fried steak sandwich is a gem. Sure, it's a frozen patty, but it's rare to even find this on a fast-food menu anymore. There's something nostalgic and comforting about it. The chicken sandwich is legit, and the hot link sandwich has great flavor if you want to try something different. Dessert: Don't skip the fried apple pie--it's that old-school style McDonald's used to have before they went "healthy" with baked pies. Crispy, hot, and just the right amount of sweet. Drinks: Only downside--if you want a diet drink, they only carry Diet Coke. Griff's, please add Coke Zero or Diet Dr Pepper! That would make a great place even better. And of course, you can't go wrong with a milkshake to top it all off. Bottom line: If you're craving greasy comfort food, nothing beats a Griff's burger. It's fast food in its purest, most nostalgic form, and an Irving landmark that's still worth every visit

While waiting for our food, the server brought out a basket of bread rolls which were very tasty. After a relatively short wait, our food was delivered. While the catfish was not as blackened as I prefer, it was flavorful. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
