    Baklava

Absolutely fantastic. I haven't had a shawarma spot this legit and this good in a long time. Food was very fresh and flavorful. The chicken shawarma laffa I got was packed with meat. Their falafel is made fresh to order, so it's not sitting out and stale like most places. We got to chat with the owner for a bit and he's a really nice guy, been in the business for a while. He even gave us complementary baklava. I'm not the biggest fan of baklava, but this one was really good. Solid choice for a fast casual meal near Barclays.

Came here after a workout and it was the perfect meal! The chicken is so yummy and the sauces are amazing. The ingredients taste very fresh as well. Next time I'm in Brooklyn I'll fs come back here.

We got the beef & lamb bowl and wrap. Decent, filling, nothing to write home about. Portions are decent, so don't be afraid to ask to pile on. This place is tiny and doesn't have a bathroom. Only three tiny high top tables for two. Very cold, as the two entry doors are always swinging open, as a ton of customers is usually going in and out.

This is a Chipotle style shawerma place. I loved it! It was quite crowded on a Thursday evening at 7pm... so it took a while to order. There were 3 guys behind the counter and one was only working on online orders. You order the meat, the wrapper/ base, the toppings, and the sauces. The portions are large, which accounts for the price. I ordered the beef and lamb shawema on flat bread. The meat is good, dare I say better than most gyros in fast food places. The bread portion was thin pita. They have about 10 topping options, a variety of salads mostly, all that i tried were good. The hot sauce is not spicy at all, but still tasty, the tahini was too watered down. The fries tasted like the oil was old... Definitely a place to go to for a yummy bite.

It works! I was in the area. Needed something hot and fresh. Popped in here and decided on a bowl.I ordered chicken lamb beef gyro over cous cous. And you can add as many fresh topping as you like. That bowl made 2 meals for me. Its priced decently considering the location. When in the area again I'll be sure to drop in. The staff was friendly. They have a small indoor and outdoor area to eat.

I've tried many other places that similar to here but it's not comparable at all. Every time I tried this kind of place, I missed here a lot. Food quality, high values as well as price! This is the best place ever and highly recommended :)

While near Barclays Center, my wife and I decided to try some shawarma, and I'm so glad we stumbled upon this gem. From the moment we walked in, John, the owner, greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. My wife went with the lamb and beef shawarma wrap paired with baba ghanoush and hummus, while I chose a hearty bowl packed with veal, white rice, lettuce, olives, pickles, cucumbers, carrots, eggplant matbucha, Turkish peppers, tomatoes, and a kick of red harissa hot sauce. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! Initially, my wife thought she could only manage half of her wrap, but by the time we finished eating, she had polished off the entire thing--a true testament to how incredible the food was. Compliments to the chef! As we enjoyed our meal, I had a wonderful conversation with John about his heritage, which added a personal and memorable touch to the experience. Before leaving, we ordered some chicken wings to go. I shared them with my daughter later, and she couldn't get enough of them--she kept asking for more! The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, but since it was a cold day, we chose to sit inside. The cozy interior had just three tables , which gave the space some charming, intimate vibes. This spot is undoubtedly a hidden gem, and we'll definitely be back again soon!

Nneeeewwwww favorite in the area! A Turkish spot that I didn't know existed until I decided to try a new place for lunch and opened my Yelp. I love Turkish food so I had high expectations for this place. My expectations were met. Granted, I received this food through delivery. Regardless, it hit the spot!!!! Everything was seasoned so well and the proportions were tailored to my liking. Right amount of chicken, rice, and toppings to evenly spread out my bites (if you know what I mean). I got the chicken shawarma bowl... the chicken is so tender, soft, and juicy. For me, I love how there is more meat than rice in the bowls. I really love how generous they are with the toppings. The baba ghanoush is the right texture, it's smoky, it's tasty, it's addicting. I love their pickles! They are crispy and tangy. And they give so much of it too. The spicy carrots and cabbage are also spot on. Honestly, the serving is so big that I'm able to save half of it for later. I've only gone into the place once and it is small (definitely just a takeout spot) and still very new inside with 2-3 spots to sit at for dining in. I absolutely love this place and talk it up to whoever asks me where to eat in Prospect Heights for a quick lunch. This is my "will always order it if I'm having a bad day which is every day" spot! :)

Wonderful! Fast service with plenty of choices. All the options are listed on the menu for different toppings you can add, but they happily explain each to you and warn about spicy items so you can easily customize your meal without needing to do a ton of research, guessing, or pointing vaguely and asking. Some mains (including the adana kebab I had) take a few extra minutes to heat up, but they'll warn you about this while you're ordering. Amazing service that makes it easy to order something delicious compared to other build-your-own restaurants like it. The food itself was delicious and reminded me somewhat of Zooba though with a different and less prominent set of spices (not in a bad way at all). I also tried the yogurt drink (ayran) though I didn't love it -- perhaps because I'm used to sweeter yogurt drinks and this one tasted more like natural yogurt -- perhaps you prefer this. Overall I had a great meal here and would be happy to try out even more of the menu in the future.

Value: 7.5/10 For ~$16, the bowl order gives you MUCH more meat and much more food than a chipotle bowl. For such a small establishment, I'm impressed at how they manage to keep prices very reasonable. Flavor: 9/10 Don't know if these guys can do much better when it comes to this. The meats are sliced fresh off the shawarma (the spinning meat) while roasting, so naturally it's always juicy and hot. They also give you a great amount of it, which is why I will eat at this joint anytime over Chipotle (which I keep referencing because I assume most are familiar with the burrito bowl portions). All the other ingredients and sauce in the bowl are stunningly fresh; while eating inside I saw fresh bags of produce being brought to the kitchen to prepare. Really gave me a good feeling about what I was eating. The bowl is very filling, and leaves you feeling healthy and refreshed. Service: 9/10 The workers are really welcoming, and were happy to take my order and even let me use the employee only bathroom in the kitchen after I ordered. The only critique I have is I wish they labeled, or made it clearer what each bowl ingredient was and tasted like. Even after visiting multiple times, the only way I know how to respond when they ask me what else I want in the bowl besides the meat is "I'll take everything." At least the food tastes great, so I never have to worry about anything tasting bad. Ideal place for a lunch break and a decently-valued, tasty, healthy, filling meal.

However, I think that goes to show how much people actually like this place. I was there a few weeks ago, and I'm just now getting to review it, but I feel like I should have done this earlier! I had been coming back from the Brooklyn Museum, and it was raining very badly. I was hungry, and I wanted somewhere to go just so I would not be in the rain. I was with one of my friends who was also hungry and just wanted to get out of the rain. We found this place, and we both loved it very much. The food was served fairly fast despite there being quite a few people there, the servers were funny, the presentation was STUNNING, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. They also warmed our pastries up, which is SUCH a big thing for both of us. We love that it was offered upon just ordering our pastries. Also, the decor in there was beautiful. It was warm, it smelled so good, and I was sitting at the window, so I got a view of the street! The people working there were kind, the people ORDERING were kind, and honestly, I can not say anything bad about how the place looked. Cozy alone does not do this place justice. The prices were fair. They were not exactly cheap, but it was so worth it. Another thing I'm big on is that I'm quite picky. I don't eat much at restaurants because I nearly always find something I don't like or someone forgets to leave something out of my order. They didn't. I have no complaints. Only praise, this place was great, and I am planning on coming back with my friend!!

Cozy, gently lived-in feeling spot, clean and tidy and nicely decorated without feeling overly polished. On this first visit I just ordered a coffee and a Russian sandwich (bagel, chive cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, capers, olive oil and herb drizzle) and it was fantastic. Each element was great on its own. I sat down to eat for about 30 minutes and it was calm and quiet. The gentleman running the kitchen welcomed me and I asked what his favorite sandwich was and ordered that. He had good rapport with the regulars who stopped in. Penny House feels like a place that's part of the community fabric. Would definitely go here again and try more sandwiches :)

The brown butter corn cake was crispy and caramelized on the outside and soft and moist. The Black Forest croissant is a seasonal offering. It is made with their Triple Chocolate Croissant filled with chocolate cake and sour cherries and topped with mascarpone cream , Rhubarb & Custard Croissant . It is tart and sweet. The rhubarb is roasted and complimented with sweet vanilla custard. They all were excellent. Each were about $8. Highly recommend and don't let the line deter you .
