I've been trying to find the best bubble tea place in this area and this is it. this will definitely become the more popular place. I just came back from California and was so excited to see they have locations here. They only have two locations as of now in the DC metro area(this one and downtown DC). I've been going to the other popular bubble tea spots around here and this one is easily the winner. You'll find that many of the other spots use milk powder versus fresh milk and you can immediately see and taste the difference. This tea doesn't get foamy when shaken because it's fresh. I've been here a few times and even though the quality and service is not up to par compared to Kung fu tea, they do offer some unique drinks I enjoy like the "crema" tea. (Oolong crema is really good!) The crema is more dense and creamy than a cappuccino foam. Be prepared to wait as it takes them a little longer to prepare the drinks, even with just a few customers there. I'm particularly disappointed that 2 of the 3 times I've been here they were out of large boba (standard size)- once I I was told it would be 10 minutes before the boba would be done but the next time they told me it would be 40 min...hopefully they work this issue out in the future! The large boba I did try here was good chewy texture. The mini boba was okay but made me miss the larger one. I've tried the matcha crema, oolong crema, and taro ice blended with pudding and mini pearl and found them all tasty. read more

(with an exclamation mark this time) the wait for drinks is still a bit long, maybe 10-20 min, but it's shorter than before. you have to wait that long for kft and others anyway. i really enjoy their creama drinks, especially the mango green tea creama. and the lychee jelly topping, whew! feels like i'm being drugged. it's good :) i'm still making my way through the rest of the menu, but so far, so good. the only complaints, really, are just the wait time is a bit long, and why, oh, why do they keep running out of pearls and mini pearls? being a milk tea place, i would have thought pearls should be cooked and ready to go all day, every day. is it because they want to ensure freshness of the pearls by cooking in small batches throughout the day, instead of a large batch that could sit out for a long time? i don't know. it's just that that seems to be the reason for the delay most of the time. they need a steady supply of pearls. read more

This is the place that our family must visit weekly. It is the most authentic Taiwanese bubble tea shop in the area. A lot of their drinks come with toppings without extra charge. For example, one of our family favorite QQ family comes with 6 toppings for $4.50 a cup! I could replace one of my meal with a cup of their bubble tea everyday! read more

Was excited to finally visit this place after hearing about it's soft opening and finally got the chance! When we walked in, the place was packed, but the employees hard at work to keep up with the crowd. I ordered the regular milk tea and my daughter the match green tea creama and the taste was very well blended. Though the hand mixing might take more time than the mixing machines at other bubble tea places, i think it's a great idea to appeal to the public. Yes, it does take awhile to get your drink, and I think it might not be the best place to visit if you're in a rush, but THE DRINKS ARE WORTH IT. Cute little tea shop, employee at the counter was friendly & quick to take my order when I came in. I ordered the honey milk tea & waited approx ~6/7 min for it. There were a few people ahead of me and it looks look the employees are still training so I won't complain about the speediness. They have 1 size (about a regular Large at other locations). My boba tea had a more herb-like flavor compared to their competitors, im not sure if that's just the specific type of tea leaves they use or if the Ratio wasn't mixed properly but it was very overpowering. Some of the best bubble tea I've had. My girlfriend got to QQ family and I got the coffee crema. The coffee crema is a completely unique and great experience, and I would totally recommend it. It is their shift opening, so the workers are getting used to the drinks, so it may take a little longer getting out. It's well worth the wait though. read more

i've had the qq family at 50% sugar, it def imo needs to be at 50% otherwise it would be super sweet. I also had the mango green tea crema at 50%. 30-50% is more than enough sweetness for their drinks if you are not a sugar addict. read more

Came in today to check out this new tea place by my workplace. Having been a regular at kf tea, I was hoping sharetea was just as good or comparable. I ordered the black milk tea with bubbles. Like kf tea, you're able to customize the amount of sweetness and ice. The prices are pretty comparable as well. Overall, the tea tasted great and was on par to kf tea. Love the store, there are so many different flavors and toppings and combinations to choose from, and you can actually taste the flavor of the tea, not just a cup a sugared drink. Even though at the beginning, the wait was long, but lately it's been improved a lot. I went a few times and had my husband bring me back the drink a few times in the past couple weeks and the wait was about 5 minutes each time to make 2 "customized" drinks :) LOVE IT!! read more

i've been a regular at sharetea since they opened but my last two visits have been disappointing. they no longer give out stamp cards to reward their most loyal customers. also, tried to order my usual qq happy family drink with green tea instead of black tea and was told they couldn't do it?!?! the honey milk tea was also more watered down than usual... their customer service has never been great.. so their going to have to think of something else to retain their loyal customers. read more

Oh. My. Goodness. I had their coffee cream with mini pearls and it was amazing! It wasn't too sweet, or too strong, but not watered down. I love mini pearls much more than the regular, because you get a surge of bubbles with each sip. If you don't order pearls, you're missing out! Recommend!! read more

The posters who complained about the wait, try going to the one in Cerritos CA where waiting 15 or more is the norm (just came back from CA). Wait on Friday and Saturday nights, Forgetta bout it. One of the best bubble tea spot in Fairfax. However, my recent visit was a disappointment that driven me to write this review. When it come to bubble tea, the place has great tasting beverages and solid variety. In addition, the service has always been great. My last visit was an exception, the cashier ( sweet girl) seem to have just started the job and I had a difficult time communicating with her due to her low voice volume. Most importantly, the wait for our bubble tea was excessively long ( about 40 min). I understand if you guys are backup due to high volume, but your workers attitude at the back was radiating a nonchalant vibe that I deem unprofessional. Also, I don't understand how the workers at the back can be working but no drink came out. I watched two customer in front of me cancelled due to the long wait. I hope this is something you guys will fix. This place has great bubble tea but if the service continue to be horrendous, I cannot see myself visiting here again. We've probably come to Sharetea at least 40 times in the past year. Flavors and consistency have been good every time. Especially recommended are the Okinawa, Hokkaido, and Happy Family. I'm no boba scientist, but usually I find it's good practice to not put HOT THINGS IN COLD DRINKS. There also was so much pulp in my drink I threw it out. Visited today for their soft opening. All drinks come in only one size, which is a large. My friend ordered the classic green tea, but was given milk green tea. I ordered the matcha green tea creama. This was my first time having creama and I was advised to cut two slits into the plastic - one small slit for the straw and a larger slit to actually drink it in order to get both flavors (of the creama and tea or whatever). They provide what I would call a tiny plastic butter knife (honestly not sure what else I'd call it) to cut the slits. Honestly, unless you consume roughly half of the drink, trying to put your mouth on the cup and drinking from the slit to obtain both flavors is almost impossible. Maybe I just fail and can't do it, who knows, but in any case, it was hard. For people who have never had creama before - it's kind of like a foam that sits on top of the drink. It's very creamy and salty. They were giving out samples of creama oolong tea and that was pretty good considering the tea didn't contain any milk and the combination of the freshness of tea and the creama worked well together. Wouldn't recommend getting the matcha green tea creama if it's your first time. Since creama isn't something that NoVA bubble tea places offer, I'd suggest creating a sign on how to drink creama. It'd be informative and save your employees a lot of time during opening weekend. The store itself is well kept although pretty dark. The post-its on the wall that customers can write on is a cute idea, but tacky and makes the store look messy. I'm not sure how the store is going to handle itself when it gets busy considering if the line gets long there is no way to loop the line inside and through the back (as there isn't any space for people standing where the tables are and even if they could loop to the back, the line would have to be cut once it reaches the back wall because there is no way it could loop back out). I'm assuming 3/4 of the line will be out the door. That's kind of a problem, in my opinion. Another thing that might be a problem is handing out drinks on the left side of the register. Not a great idea considering there is absolutely no space for more than 4 people to stand and wait, especially around that large table. These are just all suggestions to take into consideration. They also handed out stamp cards with a purchase, but unfortunately there's an expiration date so if you don't buy 10(?) drinks by the date on your card, it is no longer valid. The employees were very nice and informative so that's a plus. Other than that, would recommend to try at least once and determine on your own if this place beats KFT and the many other chains that offer milk tea/tea drinks. read more

This place is great. Honestly, there's not a drink that I don't like here, I would definitely recommend going, but only when it's not busy. The reason I'm only giving it four stars is because it's a bit infuriating when it's busy that management will stand around without helping, and instead make drinks for themselves and their friends.
