I enjoyed the tasty lemon oolong tea, which is a flavor that I've never seen at other bubble tea shops. I took my time at the front register, asking multiple questions of the staff before deciding. Even so, the guy behind the counter was super patient and nice. Tiger Sugar was super clean, including a sparkling bathroom. I would visit again!
Tiger Sugar is a huge chain that's finally become one of many options in Centreville. It's clean and brightly lit, and you order at a kiosk. The store itself is located in a busy area as it's near the very popular Sō kbbq. It's a smaller place but with a decent amount of seating to hang out with your friends after you order. I ordered the regular brown sugar boba milk tea (#1) and it was solid. I ordered it at the regular sweetness level (100%) and it was too sweet for me, but the brown sugar flavor is nice. I really love that they have oat milk as an alternative. One problem I had was the consistency in boba texture, some of them were super soft and others were hard like they needed to be cooked longer or sat in the fridge. Overall, it's a good place to try since it's such a well-known name, but I don't see myself coming back any time soon.
About a 1-1.5: Tiger Sugar recently opened up in the Pickwick Square Shopping Center, and as other Tiger Sugar locations, their menu offers their Tiger Sugar, Black Sugar milk, and Tea series. We came here after having dinner in the area, and we ordered: +the Signature of the Brown Sugar Boba with Pearls and Cream Mousse +the Strawberry Mochi from their new Fruit Series Unfortunately, both these drinks were just not good - the Brown Sugar Boba was more milky, and the pearls had an off taste to them; the cream mousse seemed to have been separated or something, and just didn't taste right in the drink. The Strawberry Mochi, while looking aesthetically pleasing, was just inedible - not sure where the mochi was, but this tasted like a cheap version of strawberry milk. These drinks were tossed. Also note that you can't customize the sugar or the sweetness level, so you'll be getting a lot of ice... The best part of this visit was the Tiger Sugar tiger plush keychains - they had an orange and a white tiger, and I had to get my hands on these - these were just so so so cute, and I just couldn't wait to add them to my collection! Staff was friendly, and there were ample seating inside. Very exciting! It's finally HERE! Tiger sugar is now my favorite boba place. Been coming here since they opened. My favorite was the brown sugar pearl with pudding and cream mousse it has a great balance of sweetness and milky flavor. The staffs are very friendly and the inside looks nice and neat. Parking out front the store but can be super crowded.
Honestly I was a little let down by my Tiger Sugar experience. I read up on this place online before going, and saw so much hype for the drinks- I didn't feel like it was as flavorful as it was promised to be. No one explained to me what I later saw on a sign, that I needed to shake the drink a ton before drinking. It was milky, but tasted pretty watered down and not quite worth its higher price tag (compared to other boba u have regularly). The staff were sweet, the menu is expansive, and the store itself was clean and cutely decorated. I'd give them another shot if I was in the area again!
I was craving some Boba after eating a hefty meal at a restaurant; why not right? I decided to stop by Tiger Sugar. I wasn't here when the place opened but I had always wanted to try this place out for some time. I think the place looks cool and definitely something I would stop by for a bit if I want to sit down and check up on my phone for a bit. I got their number 2, or their Brown Sugar Boba + Coffee Jelly + Milk with Cream Mousse. I didn't think my drink would be heavy, but I guess that's my fault for not reading that it also came with jelly and boba pearls. Drinking this is very sweet, and unfortunately there's not much of an option to make it less sweet or even adjust the amount of ice so that sets people back if they want to dilute it or if they don't want the sugar to be overpowering. In my perspective, the drink is good but you have to shake it up. I personally don't like the Milk and Cream Mousse, I think it tastes weird and I wish there was an option to not include it in your drink. It's unfortunate because I really do like that it's mostly Brown Sugar Drinks but no customizing to your needs does blow. If you do plan to go here, I'd also advise you not go at night; it seems like the parking at the plaza is always packed on a fri-sun weekend and I do think it can make your experience worse because I definitely did not enjoy trying to find parking at all.
I have tried this place many times. The quality of drinks here seems to be more stable than other places I love number 2. Next time i will try option with tea

The interior here is a little tight of a space, but has a few tables. The parking lot can get packed during the weekends. You can order at a kiosk yourself or at the counter with a worker. When I went, they did not have their full menu, so was unable to try some of their fruit teas. DRINKS: ~Decent, but the milk flavor is STRONG (maybe too much where you are unable to taste anything) ~Menu item #1: Brown sugar boba (their signature drink; 3/5): a bit weak on flavor and just tasted like milk with a little bit of sweetness ~Menu item #3 (Brown sugar boba, chocolate malt, milk, cream mousse; 4/5): tasted just like chocolate milk. Had more flavor than #1 since it had the chocolate ~T8 - Green tea with boba (4/5): I got 0% sweetness at most boba places. But this place I feel like does true sweetness levels (unlike other boba places). Could def get 50-100% without it being icky sweet ~Boba (4/5): The boba texture is great and subtle sweetness Overall, this place is a solid spot, esp if you like milk. I will go back to try their fruit teas!
Very bright and cute decor. They also have these cute tiger keychain. I got tiger mango sago, strawberry mochi milk and they both were good and refreshing.
Finally made it to try Ginger sugar ! It was packed with only two girl Working at the moment. After trying to decide what I wanted I opted or the number #8. There was a wait but there wasn't not issue . Unfortunately what I picked wasn't good at all To me . But I would go back and try the #1.

That being said, I ordered my the #5 Black Sugar Boba with Pudding Milk and Creame Mousse and enjoyed every single sip of it! Their drinks are consistently great, however on the sweeter side even though you order it less sweet. They do also give you an option of using different types of "milk" for those who are lactose intolerant too. Overall, the service, quality of the drink, and wait time were excellent and I'll be returning! The cafe is located in the same shopping center as So Barbeque, with a fair amount of parking right out front, though the lot could be larger honestly during weekend evenings.
Excited to see a tiger sugar in nova! We tried post-dinner on a weekend and it was packed. Line 6 parties deep for the kiosk. While the drinks were pretty good and the menudo vast, the staff needs more training on providing service. There's no one to help with questions. Also, though there is a register, the girl at the register just sauntered around rather than helping to cut down the line/wait. We asked about what was in a drink and her responses were "I think it's this.." "usually we add this.." well that's not helpful. Hopefully the service will improve but definitely worth a try.
I love the fruit specials so I got the Oolong Jelly Lemon Green Tea! I like that it already comes with toppings and it's tart, sweet, and refreshing. The cashier was very friendly and she was super quick making the drink. I only had to wait about three minutes! The inside is very bright and clean and I love the tiger plush decor. I will be back to try the other fruit teas!
We ordered two drinks: a brown sugar milk tea with boba (which is on the sweeter side) and a tea with grass jelly. They also gave us a free cookie item, which was a nice touch and showed how great their customer service is. The drinks themselves were pretty sweet--I usually prefer around 30%--and the menu feels more like "milk with toppings" rather than a true milk tea selection. Overall, really friendly service, but the drinks leaned sweeter and milk-forward than expected. read more

I'm SO glad that the Tiger Sugar chain is expanding! I had it a long time ago once upon a time in NYC and was excited to see that they were opening a location close to home. We've gone here several times throughout the past few months and even my husband has become a fan (he even has his "go to" drink with customizations too). Sue me, but I actually don't order any of the "tiger sugar" signature drinks. I'm a fan of the black AND green tea lattes but when I'm craving for something tangy, I go for the lemon oolong tea (get the oolong jelly too!). They have about 2-3 non-caffeinated drinks if that's your jam as well. There are a variety of toppings (pearls, boba, jellies, etc.) and you can also modify your ice and sweetness levels for most drinks. There's also the option to order through their machine along with the register. There's some seating and the shop itself isn't too big so it can get crowded during peak hours. I'm happy to have Tiger Sugar as one of our drink rotations in this area! read more

It's finally here! Northern Virginia's first Tiger Sugar location has landed in Centreville. Tiger Sugar is known for their brown sugar boba milk teas. (Don't forget to shake it exactly 15 times!) This location also serves several fruit teas such as mango sago and strawberry mochi. I went on the grand opening day and got my drink in a Hello Kitty cup (promotion is for a limited time.) The drinks tasted great and the service was on point. The drinks are on the higher end -- the price point is similar to Yi Fang and Ben Gong's. There is plentiful parking in the large lot. If you haven't tried Tiger Sugar before, check them out! read more
Yummy yummy! Not my fave spot but it was good! I'd vote a solid choice. I like that they gave some unique drink options I would've never thought I'd like. The dark choco chip boba was delish! I like that they have a crunch to it cause there's like chocolate cookie crumbs at the bottom. The cookie surprisingly stayed crunchy!!! I got there signature Tiger brown sugar. The service was alright just the standard transaction. The ambiance is super casual and there's seating inside. Overall I'd be back! read more
While pricey, the items here are different, varied, and unique; customizable; exceptional in execution and ingredients; and very tasty. If you order something less sweet, however, is it really "less sweet"? I am unsure. I ordered my strawberry mochi milk tea with 25% sugar, but it is still tasted quite sweet. But it was quite satisfying; and something worth the detour in distance and calories. Likewise, the black sugar milk egg roll, while not knock-your-socks-off awesome, is still quite different and worth a try. read more

Updating my review as I came back after a week where it is much less busy. They improved that milky balanced tea flavor and the pearls have more chew to it as well! So happy that the quality is basically like New Yorks now and excited to come back again! read more

Staff are super friendly here, and there's a good amount of seating. Tucked in the Pickwick Square shopping center along with O Bread & Cake, So KBBQ and Bon Tea, this is a great little addition for people to get dessert options after eating a meal. I've always thought that brown sugar drinks were overly sweet, but my family members really wanted to try this place out since it recently opened and there was a Hello Kitty collab. My partner and I opted to share the Strawberry Crush from the Hello Kitty collection and were surprised with the random cookie/ crackers that were crumbled and placed in here. Also it's really sweet? Didn't think that this specific drink would be that sweet, but I did sample some of my cousins' drinks and they got 50% sweetness and they were still all fairly sweet. Would I go here again if someone asked me to go with them? Sure... but I probably personally would not order anything since I feel like it's too sweet for my liking. read more

Came here to try the giant boba after seeing it in an instagram ad The inside is nice and clean, but it is a bit of a tight fit. The staff are friendly as well. There are plenty of options to choose from on the menu I thought the giant boba would be like the tapioca but big - but they are actually just large, round coffee jellies Eating the giant boba is a bit awkward. The best you can do is spear it with your straw to get little chunks of it My only complaint is that they didn't really put a lot of the giant boba in...and adding it made my drink cost almost $8 You may just be better off adding in the regular coffee jellies to your drink instead read more

Nice depth flavor of brown sugar. As always I orderToday, I ordered two large drinks but unfortunately received two medium-sized drinks instead. I was very much looking forward to enjoying the larger size I had paid for. I have consistently ordered large drinks at Tiger Sugar and have never experienced this issue before. read more
To be honest I am shocked this boba place has good reviews. I have tried a Tiger Sugar in Philadelphia and the Centreville location is not up to par. I ordered the Brown sugar boba + mochi + soy bean powder milk with cream mousse and my sister ordered the Tiger Mango Sago. The Tiger Mango Sago was pretty good. The brown sugar boba honestly tasted like straight up milk. I shook my boba for about 40 seconds to let the flavor settle in. But I was so disappointed. I tore open the top to see how the boba looked and it was not brown at all. It looked super light brown. I liked the mochi texture, but it tasted like mochi in milk. I didn't taste the brown sugar flavor at all. The one in Philadelphia tastes so rich and actually looks like there is a good amount of brown sugar. The place inside is really cute. They do have a self-service kiosk to order boba as well. Service was pretty quick even though there were lots of people. I'm honestly not sure if I will try this place again. It's sad because I loved the one in Philly, but the one in Centreville is not worth it to me. read more

I got the number 3: Brown Sugar Boba Milk + Pearl with Chocolate Malt + Creamer Mousse. The ambiance inside is nice, clean, and bright. The boba came out at a reasonable time. The boba texture was very nice. I haven't tried any of their fruit drinks but my girlfriend has the strawberry mochi and she seemed to like it. I will definitely come back to try some other drinks in the future. read more

One thing that will set apart a really good bubble tea place from others is the cleanliness. Bubble teas are hard to mess up and they really taste the same anywhere else. However, there are few places that pays attention to how they handle their drinks when making them or at least wiping the cup/container after they touch it with their dirty hands. I don't care how good the drinks are. When my drinks come out of the bag wet, sticky, and not completely sealed with the liquid spilling from the side, I'm instantly upset bc now I have to sit and deal with the mess. I was disgusted when I wiped the outside the cup and was met with chunks of strawberry. The drink I was wiping was Thai tea.. where is the strawberry from? I spent $50 on drinks and it's fair for me to expect that my drinks are at least clean. Right?? very disappointed with service and I left there with a bad taste in my mouth. read more
