Very satisfied with our visit to Shakey's. An old favorite when we were growing up in Los Angeles. Happy that we have one in Temecula. This will surely be one of our new spots with the grandkids.The pizza, fried chicken and mojo potatoes were as delicious as I remembered them. I brought my kids to the Temecula Shakey's location on Sunday 2/4/24. I ordered the salad bar for myself and individual pizzas for the kids. The salad bar had no actual salad (lettuce), so I let the young man working the register know, and he said they would refill it. The kids ate their pizzas and we spent a while chatting - taking our time while I kept an eye on the salad bar. I understand they were busy at lunchtime on the weekend. A half-hour later, the kids were done eating, so I figured I would just ask for a refund for the salad since that was the only thing I ordered for myself, and they seemed too busy to refill it - so I was not able to eat it. The same young man was at the register, it was a busy day and they were clearly understaffed. Working in customer care myself, and having restaurant experience, I understand and approach the situation in that understanding way. He went to get a manager from the back to process the refund. When she came up, she asked what was going on (as if she had no idea and was inconvenienced), and I explained the situation above. She shot back with a terrible tone and said "Well, we are busy - can you wait 2 minutes for us to refill it!?". I kindly told her that my family is done eating now, so I'd just prefer a refund. She was very rude, and told me to put my card in for the refund in a different machine, around another party who was already in line at the other register. I awkwardly obliged and reached over to put my card in, in front of the other person in line. She did not offer any type of greeting, never apologized, did not invite us back, or ask how our meal was. For them "being busy" being the only consolation she offered, I would hope the manager would come out to assist her staff, and treat the customers with some care and kindness. My kids were sitting in the booth behind me, and were absolutely blown away by her rudeness. This very simple exchange left such an impression on our family. I just wanted you to be aware of the situation. *The young man who was working the cash register solo was very kind and had wonderful manners. He was doing so great juggling everything on his own. I'm a newbie to this location, but no stranger to good eats and excellent customer service. The moment I walked through the door I was greeted by a beautiful soul named Kansas. This lady made me feel like my drive from the Lake was a great choice for dinner. The entire team provided smiles behind their mask as they worked the room. We visited this location on 4/28/24 for their lunch buffet. The service is awesome! Food was always coming out. I had asked dawn for a white sauce pizza due to my wife not liking red sauce. We're on a road trip. We search along route and find a Shakey's! We had not been to one in a very long time. So we decide to take chance. We both decided on the buffet. This has got to be one of the cleanest pizza place we have ever visited. The pizza was great and the chicken was very tasty! What a great experience. Also the manager and the young lady who cleans tables (this gal is constantly in motion) were absolutely awesome. Friendly and professional! Busy place! We went for bunch a lunch it was a fair price $13.00 There we're several large groups there. Not a place to go and try and chit chat it's way too loud for that. The Food was good. Our Favorites were the potato slices, salad bar, pizza and fried chicken. Only one drink machine works the other one is saran wrapped so that caused a line. Ohhhh I wish I can give this a 0 haha over half the games are never working and the ones that seem like they will work just take your coins or never give you tickets and they seem to be under staffed( like most places are now in days). Fun place for the kids with the arcade. Pizza is pretty good and compares to BJs. The mojos are a hit with the kids. The place could be cleaner, the floor seemed dirty and there were a lot of dirty tables. We have had my sons birthday party here for the past 2 years. They have amazing staff who are very helpful. We were allowed to come in an hour early and decorate our tables. Dawn, the manager, kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. My son has had birthday parties at Round 1 and several other places, but Shakeys is his favorite. This place has completely changed for the best! I have been here many times before but today was truly the definition of great service. There was a kind new employee taking the order at the front. He was training and didn't quite get our order correct. When the food came out we mentioned our concern and Dawn the regional manager immediately stepped in and took care of us. Not only did she take care of the missing order but she did it with a smile and was so kind about it. Her team works hard, particularly Jermaine who was non stop bustling to take care of us. From the second we sat down he was waiting on us like we are the only ones in the restaurant on a busy Saturday. I will say the food is always great, but the service now makes this place perfect!
