Queens transplants, that's story I gathered from the oldest son and Uncle Gino himself. The pizza is available by the slice, or a whole pie made to order. That's all very good, especially for the two slice and drink special price, which I indulged in twice. But, don't overlook those sandwiches on the menu, especially the Meatball sub! I was so excited to find amazing vegan options at Uncle Gino's, and they did NOT disappoint! The vegan garlic knots were soft, fluffy, and packed with garlicky goodness. Perfectly seasoned and seriously addictive -- I could've ordered another batch! The vegan pizza was outstanding. Wow! What a nice, family run business. I added a star for Julianna! Great service with a smile. She is an asset to the business. Onto the food. They have a special. Two slices with one topping and a canned soda for $8.95. It's a great deal and available all day, not just at lunchtime like most places. The slices are large and we're piping hot. Hubby said he liked the pizza and would order it again. I had the meatball sub. This is NOT a small sandwich! It is well worth the $11.50. The meatballs are very tender and tasty. Julianna shared that they are homemade! The sauce was also good and the bread was perfectly toasted. It was topped with plenty of cheese. Never disappoints! Took my fiancé and picked up a medium pizza with meatballs and sausage (made in house) and garlic cheese bread. Gino was at home so his son did the honors. Everything was smooth and spectacular as always. They added more seating inside and out to accommodate their customers. I'm always happy, and the son is a chip off the block. We've been going here since we moved to Temecula a few years ago and usually have a great experience with takeout but tonight was a massive exception. My husband ordered a cheese pizza with vegan pepperoni for takeout. When he went to pick it up he saw that they had added jalapeños across the whole thing. They had told us on the phone that they only had a little vegan pepperoni left so to make up for the mistake they made a cheese pizza. Unfortunately they not only used vegan cheese when we ordered regular, but also it was completely burnt. My husband didn't realize it until he was home and when he tried to call back about the issue the person on the phone was not only unapologetic, but insisted they had made two pizzas, we should just take the jalapeños off, and that this is just how vegan cheese cooked. Anyone who has a kid knows this isn't an option and also even though we didn't order vegan cheese, we've had it on pizzas other places and here and it's NEVER looked like this. Just look at other photos people have posted here. He then hung up on my husband without resolution. Honestly such a bad experience I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Over charged me and did not give me my change. Waiting to get home to try this $15 sandwich that showed a price of $9.50. When I asked for a receipt he changed it from a regular ham and cheese to a Torpedo which was listed at $11.43. He explained he did not have a charge for the regular $9.50 ham and cheese. We ordered delivery from Uncle Gino's through the Slice app and had a great experience! Ordering was super easy, and the pizza arrived hot and fresh. The thin crust had the perfect little crunch, the sauce was flavorful, and the pepperonis were nice and crispy--just how I like it. They offer sizes ranging from small to XXL, which is great depending on your appetite or party size. We also tried the Greek salad, and even though it was just a salad, it was really good--fresh and flavorful. And the ranch! Some places have that extra special ranch, and Uncle Gino's definitely does. I'd come back just for that alone. Only downside: they didn't include any plates, but we made do. Found myself in the area and used Yelp to help make my decision where to go for pizza. Ordered the Works pizza. I asked for extra crispy crust and was told they already make their pies crispy. The reason I ask for crispy crusts with my pizzas is I like to have the pieces hold up to the weight of the ingredients. The pizza I got didn't come close to doing that. I picked it up and the piece was limp and all the toppings slid off. The crust was wafer thin and very soggy possibly due to the mushrooms giving off their water content but whatever. Even if cooked further that crust wouldn't hold up. For the most part I enjoyed the pizza but was very difficult to eat. Nice little place overall. While I was there someone got a calzone that looked really good. They had Diet Coke so that's always a good sign. Friendly people. read more

Wow!!! Ok so we just so happened to come across this place because gentle grill was closed and we were looking for vegan food while we are in town! My husband says VEGAN PIZZA!!! Local family owned pizza shop with plenty of options. We came here because one of our favorite vegan restaurants Gentle Grill was closed, so we decided to check out Uncle Ginos. To our surprise, they have vegan options! On the menu, we only noticed the vegan calzone and the vegan cheesecake. However, after speaking to the owner, he said options were: Vegan Pizza, Vegan Garlic Knots, spaghetti w/vegan meatballs, vegan meatball subs, and they also had vegan sausage. We decided to give it a try! And we were happy that we did! Everything came out delicious and we took to go items for dinner later as well! Owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating, service first! There's some space to eat inside and outdoor tables as well. Definitely happy we found this hidden gem! Update: we had the items we took back home and OMG! portion sizes are ridiculously big!! We have food for days!!! Spaghetti was delicious! Comes with garlic bread and meatball sub was HUGE!! I also was once a managing partner at the highest rated fine dining restaurant in a region of 2 million+ people, where I had our Culinary Institute of America gourmet chefs add truly outstanding pizza to our menu. I've also consulted for & brokered the sale/lease of many dozens of restaurants. Thus I became reasonably knowledgeable about best practices. My review as a 1st time customer: *The large meatball/mushroom/onion/bell pepper pizza was 4.5 Stars - really delicious! *Sauce is terrific! 4.5 Stars! *Excellent all-beef meatball topping! 5 Stars! *Crust is only 3 Stars - not truly New York style "thin" as told to me. Next time I'll ask for extra thin. *Topping anount - 2 Stars - way too expensive for the amount given (barely any onions, mushrooms or bell peppers). *Had I ordered a large veggie & added meatballs, I would've received 2 additional toppings yet saved $3.50! Service was very very slow and order was wrong. We stopped by here on our way to soccer tournament. We were running late and the worker said it would be 15-20 minutes. He was taking care of a family that was eating in and definitely couldn't multi-task. I wouldn't have been upset if he had told us up front that it was going to take 30-40 minutes instead of 15-20. We would have went somewhere else. We waited. We ordered 4 sandwiches and we got 3. Only paid for 3 but my son didn't get to eat before his game because his sandwich wasn't made. He didn't get the ingredients right on one of the sandwiches either. All that wait and frustration and I didn't think the sandwiches were that great. He was a young kid and by himself so maybe someone called in sick but he moved slow and didn't seem to be concerned about people waiting. Somehow this little gem slipped in under my radar. Uncle Gino's has been at this location for two years. I love Stromboli and I decided to check it out. Stromboli is not on the menu but calzone is. I asked Gino's about Stromboli and he said he would make it for me. It took about 15 minutes to bake. The Stromboli was huge! I added sausage, bell peppers and olives. It was good but the cheese was off. Just had a funny taste and consistency. He also added ricotta cheese which took away from the flavor in my opinion.
