Not sure if there is buzz about this chain. I remember when I drove over 80 miles from Montgomery to Birmingham Alabama for a whataburger. Well, I had never paid attention to this shake thing. I rode public transit just for this joint. I ordered: - the bacon burger - fries - cheese on the side I got: - Cheese fries - no lettuce, tomato nor puckles (got me a side after asking) The food is wholesome ~ the burgee does not leave the greasy reflux after-taste feeling of an in-n-out. The bun is soft and buttery. It lacks a back-bone to hold everything inside in its place and stuff defies gravity oozing out of the bun onto your hands and fingers ~ not to worry, just lick fingers. The cheese sauce crust readily. Never seen that before -- in Spanish it's called: "nata". The taste is un-adultered cheese, beef do or to the patty and bacon. Portion run on in the tiny size but that's ok since I watch calories. You get your get your and lil mayo envelopes on the side. They bring the food to your table. I was not overly thrilled by the crinkle fries -- they are a bit too dry and firm. Service is basic but caring and not too friendly but not too unfriendly either. Just basic good service. Both the gut and the young woman dress with the same mask with skull teeth so I could not tell them apart but they take care of business and are very busy. Ambience abd sitting i sude or outside is comfortable, just across the street from the Americana. 3.75 Overall. The culinary skills at this location is not up to par with the New York establishments. I was hoping for a better taste since it's made from the same ingredients. Needs some improvements. 3.5 Star. Food vs. Price. Their unique Shroom Burger (fried large mushroom wrapped in melted cheese) is what I came in for. Still tastes good but a bit on the over fried side. Came with a single leaf of lettuce and 2 really small slices of tomato. Over $7. I don't know...think they can do better... The Shake Stack (fried mushroom and a beef patty) at over $10 a burger should taste delicious but the beef patty was over cooked and a bit thin, somewhat over crusty and salty on the edges. The mushroom also tastes over fried. I had really high expectations since my last Shake Shack meal in New York was so memorable, I was hoping for the same quality in LA. Now I'll preface this by saying I will never choose a Shake Shack burger over In-n-out because as a born and raised Angelino, that would be blasphemous. That said, this is the nicest Shake Shack location I've ever been to and everyone that works here is super friendly and helpful. They were even more than happy to accommodate some food allergies. If you happen to be in the area shopping for a car, as I was, this place will surely help save you from some of the headaches that kind of day will bring! read more

Great, consistent Shake Shack location! I love that Shake Shack has awesome vegetarian options. I'm literally addicted to their 'Shroom Burger and wavy-cut fries. People often compare Shake Shack to In-N-Out, so here is my opinion: Shake Shack over In-N-Out ANY DAY. The fries here are way better than In-N-Out's overrated skinny fries that usually turn out half dry and half soggy. Shake Shack beef burgers are solid as well. But the fact that they have vegetarian options, AND the vegetarian options are creative & taste great really wins me over. We love burgers. Love 'em. But not always interested in spending $10 on a burger when we could get one for $3 down the street. In fact there is a In 'N Out across the street from this place. But 10 years ago I passed on standing in line at the new phenom Shake Shack in Central Park, all because we had our sights set on Carnegie Deli Corned Beef sand. Didn't really regret the decision, esp now that Carnegie has since closed, but it still left me wondering all these years. First off, SS is a nice place. Very nice tables, interior and restrooms (very important). Very smooth ordering procedure and way they call the food out was great. Much like an upscale In 'N Out. But my sandwich... whoa. A friend of mine told me a story about his mistake in ordering a portobello burger once. Thinking it was a slice of portobello ON a burger, he was left with a meatless mushroom on a deluxe bun. Decent, but not a burger. MY portobello burger at SS was a PANKO ENCRUSTED SLICE OF PORTOBELLO on a beef burger. YES. Not only did it lay waste to the standard mushroom burger, it had the crunch and taste of a portobello. I found it so good that I can't recall what else we ate. And it was just last week! This Shake Shack is easy to find, as it is on the corner of Colorado and Brand. Across the street from Boubon Steak & Din Tai Fung at the Americana. There is a lot behind Shake Shack but not free. You can park at the Glendale Galleria and walk over here like what we did if you wish not to pay. This restaurant location has outdoor seating that is dog friendly (both covered and uncovered seating available). My husband, our little girl dog and I came here last Wednesday around 6:45 pm. After browsing the menu, we ended up ordering: 10 Count Chick'n Bites, $6.39 prior to tax- Juicy, deep fried chicken pieces. My husband ended up getting honey mustard and buttermilk dipping sauce. I thought these chicken bites tasted better than other chicken nuggets that I have had before. But they are also the most oily too. They definitely needed to be drained more. Each time I took a bit of these chicken pieces, the batter of the chicken kept falling off the chicken. That was a little disappointing but I did like that there were large pieces of chicken under all that oily batter. Double Hamburger, $7.49 prior to tax- My husband ordered this burger. Tasty patties, as it allowed for the meat the shine in each bite. It was nice that the patties were not overly seasoned. But they were oily too, like the chicken bites. I suppose that seems expected though when eating out. ------------------------- (Total= $15.20 after tax) Food was good but oily, more than I would have wanted in a dinner. Although I know that Shake Shack uses good quality ingredients, the price is just too expensive to dine here again. For 2 entree items, without sides or a beverage, it just seems a bit too costly. Damn it!!! Can we talk about the hot chicken for one second? Sooooo effen good!!! I love hot! But I'm also a creature of habit, I only ever get the same SmokeShack from SS regardless of what location (Chicago, WeHo, Hollywood, Glendale). I'm not into trying new menu items, that was until the other night when I spotted it on the menu - hadn't eaten all day and told myself I could eat both! I have eaten Shake Shack a few times before, but never really got into it. It is expensive compared to other burger places, and smaller portion. This is during covid. You have to order online, then pick up your food at the window. Staff was friendly and prompt. They have outside tables. Added bonus. I got the lettuce wrap burger with portabello mushroom. It was small, but quite filling. It was VERY GOOD. I think this was better than their other burgers lol. It was crispy, flavorful, juicy, and I added chopped chili. Cheese fries were good. Fries were crispy and had a hint of salt. The cheese was on the side, so more for like a dipping sauce. I would recommend anyone to get this. read more

I still shake my head when the die hard In N Out guys think that burger is better than SS. Come on. I ordered a standard Shack Burger with fries and decided to splurge and also get a black and white. First the burger - probably my favorite burger of all time. The patty is juicy, the toppings are perfect, and the bun is nice and soft. Perfect amount of grease. It just tastes awesome. It's not very big, but for me it's the perfect portion size. I never walk out feeling gross. The crinkle cut french fries are the best. It's my favorite as the crinkled edges leave more room for the salt to stick to. The milkshake I ordered - the black and white, was a mix of vanilla and chocolate. As for the food, it's way overpriced and nothing really stands out except for the crinkle fries. Those were seasoned right and really good off of the fryer. Don't let it cool or else it will taste like any other fry. I don't eat at Shake Shack often due to pricing, but a good spot if you want a burger and don't mind the high cost. I haven't been here since the grand opening, but I figured that I should drop again to see how their food holds up, and they didn't disappoint with my order. The Shack Stack was very tasty! I always order a burger with mushrooms, but the tastiness of the cheese that was melted into the fried shroom patty made my mouth water! The hype is not all that IMO. Tried it for the first time and found the menu was a bit poorly done - it should have a picture of what the burger looks like. Ordered a Smokeshack burger and fries w/ 16oz beer on tap. The burger was smaller than I expected and the taste was fresh but missing other veggies. Had to ask the counter person for onions, tomato and lettuce. Loaded it up with mustard to make it tasty. Felt like the buttered buns could have taken a diet. Fries were very good but most were sitting on a heat lamp which I did not appreciate. I'll stick with 5 Guys or In N Out. read more

It was very cold, no covering(plastic walls or outdoor heaters). I didn't realize until after that there was no bacon on my burger. I assumed it was bacon bits after getting a cup of bits for my fries. Everything I ordered was nothing like other pics on Yelp. No bacon in my burger, the cheese and bacon for my fries came on the side???? WTH!! It was like Build-a-Bear and Smash Burger opened a burger spot and here I was building my meal. Service blew, short girl who helped me seemed bothered every time I asked for a refill. Maybe if she didn't put so much ice after I asked for it with no ice I wouldn't be back every 2 mins. Last time I asked for a refill she just said ok and walked away and never returned with our refills. When I asked same girl to use the restroom she said go to the side of the building and I'll send someone to open the door. That never happened, I had to catch an employee's attention to let me in. We noticed there were a good amount of employees and they weren't too busy so I guess the down time allowed them to congregate instead of provide excellent service during this time?.... There was also a tall light skinned employee with longer shoulder length hair in a hair net that didn't have the best attitude. I was excited and really wanted to love this place. The burger bun was excellent, the meat was Smash burger great! The fries were ok, I didn't like having to dip my fries in cheese then dip them in bacon?? This location has outdoor seating and recently limited indoor seating. Upon entering the restaurant, the usual line has been changed due to Covid. They have tables where people with app / Uber/ Door Dash orders can go directly to a table for pick up and then there is a separate line for those who walk-in to place their order. For this visit, my family and I ordered the new Avocado and bacon single meat cheeseburgers with fries and if you have a teen son, you end up ordering two orders of the double meat shake shack burger with fries. Burgers are always cooked to perfection and just tasty. The grilled flavor on the burgers has to be one why we continue to go to this establishment. As for drinks, we had the strawberry lemonade and loved that refills are offered. My only wish is that the company add onion rings to their menu. It just gives customers options for sides to add to their burgers. The restaurant is clean, sanitizers are provided and the restroom and nicely clean, organized and sanitized. I haven't tried the Shake Shack in Glendale until this pandemic. At one door, you can place your order for take-out and can choose to use the seating on the large sidewalk while the other door is where you picked up the food. However, most people either picked-up or did take-out and went their way. People mostly social distanced and wore facemasks. I didn't have any issues with my safety with the establishment itself. Outdoor patio was kind of packed, but makes it dog friendly. Pricing is a bit high. -Only highlight was their Cheese Fries, they are crinkle cut and surprisingly NOT soggy! My bf & I enjoyed this. -ShackBurger was small, reminded my bf of a burger you can get from Wendy's size & taste. -ShackStack was not as flavorful as I would have liked. It was juicy and flavorful. The buns were fluffy and idk, tasted kinda sweet to me. I think the amount you pay for the burger is pretty worth it. Their burgers are way better than in n out! I wanna say it's because of the buns. But the fries, it could be better. It didn't taste fresh. It tasted like it came from a frozen fries bag t b h. Even adding the cheese on top or any sauce didn't really add much to their fries. I didn't order a shake so I can't say anything about it. The location of this Shake Shack is perfect! Came here last week and was my first time at this location and I've dined in. The environment is nice and clean. Staff were friendly and food tasted fine. However my experience was not perfect. #1: I waited a while and no one brought my order to my table, so I end up picking up my order myself at the counter. #2: My stomach got sick in about 30 minutes after consuming the food. #3: After I was done with my food, I went into the restroom to wash my hands. It's burgers and dogs, along with frozen custard and of course, shakes. After all, the name is Shake Shack! It's on the pricey side, but not too bad. The most basic burger, the Shack Burger is $5.69. It's not very big, so if you're hungry, you better get the double for $8.49. The quality of the meat is very good. One of my friends had the Chick 'n Club. It looked really good. $7.69. It's deep-fried. It had a fish 'n chips look. The crinkle cut fries were ok. $2.99. Nothing special, but not bad. You get quite a few, enough for two people to split. The shakes were fantastic! $5.29. I had the peanut butter shake and my friend had the coffee shake. We both loved 'em. My only gripe is they only fill the cup up about 80% full. All of 'em were that way. Hey Shake Shack, fill up the cup with that shakie goodness! It's very clean. They give you a pager to alert you when your food is ready. They alerted us and our food wasn't ready. Then they said they'd buzz us again and reset our buzzer but our buzzer just keep buzzing so that was a little annoying. All in all, not bad. After my last experience, the manager reached out and offered me to revisit and try again so I did. The order was more accurate this time and the burger was pretty good. But the friendliness of the staff was lacking and the ease of handling my order was shockingly difficult. The burger really was good, but I was disappointed that when I asked to substitute the shack sauce on my burger I was told I'll have to ask for that when I get my food. Thought that was strange and unaccommodating. Further, after waiting in line outside in the beating sun on what turned out to be a fairly warm Sunday November 1st day, I placed my order and while unaccommodating as noted above for my food, it got much worse. After she put in my order, I gave her my promotion code I was given from my last experience. She had to write down the number and said she would have to put the order in all over inside. After about 2-3 minutes she came back and said she would need my phone to see if there was anything else in the email. To which we read the email together and she pointed out that I could only use this through the app. So obviously that was frustrating after waiting all that time in the line for that. She asked her manager if they could make an exception but she was advised no they could not. I said ok great, so now I have to download the app and then order all over? She said yes. I asked if she could at least get it started so that it will hopefully be done by the time I jump through this new hoop... she said she would do her best. So I download the app and start putting in my order only to find out there isn't even an option to say light shack sauce (since I decided I didn't want a dry burger and have to squeeze packets of mustard on after it's cooked and wrapped up). So I told her that and she said she would make sure they knew. Anyways, finally got the order in and I went up to pick up and asked for manager to make sure it was done properly and that they could tie it to the initial order... you can imagine how I exhausting the whole process was and how annoying and annoyed I felt. But I got through it and the meal was pretty good as noted above. I will advise that most of the staff were wearing BLM Inc shirts. But I didn't see a single black employees working there out of about 12-13 workers I think I saw. I thought that was very strange. I definitely support black lives and all lives. Not super happy with being politically messaged to while grabbing my lunch though. The last 2 experiences here confirmed my faith and loyalty to in and out. Shake Shack needs to get there priorities straight and focus on making things easy on the customer and making sure there are friendly accommodating staff to go along with the burger with no political messaging please. I brought these burgers to a Street Food Cinema event! The line was a breeze. Luckily, it wasn't as packed as expected. We ordered two Shack Burgers, one regular fries, and one fries with cheese. After we got our orders, ketchup, mustard, chili, and salt were on the right side of the picking up area. Once we got to our event, we started munching on the fries. At first, I thought they forgot about our cheese on the fries, but I was wrong. They put the cheese on a separate little container which was a good idea! Our burgers were small but it got me full. I appreciate Shake Shack because I like how they make the food right then and there. It always taste fresh! It does cost more than most fast food restaurants but I think it's worth the buck. My favorite items on the menu are the chicken shack and the cheese fries. The cheese fries aren't too salty nor too oily. I do wish the cheese sauce were a bit less thick but they're still addicting. I think their burgers are average and I'll never order them unless I'm in the mood for some beef.
