Cheeseburger
Jeannie L.

Had the cheeseburger with lettuce & tomatoes tonight for the first time (I know, I know). It was yummy! I like the Shake Shack sauce. Their fries are okay but crinkle fries aren't my favorite so that might just be preference. Service was quick, we were able to order off a kiosk (cheeseburger with single patty & fries - $13ish) and they bring the food to your table. The restaurant ambience was okay, the tables could have been cleaner.

This was one the only places in Glendale open during late hours. Hours are great but food is okay. Normally made fresh and I love their soft buns and charred meat but overall it just doesn't do it for me. Prices here are very high for it being a fast food. $110 for a few simple cheeseburgers, fries and drinks is pretty crazy to me. I always say I won't return back here because of their pricing because I could go to a dine in restaurant for these prices. Food ok, inside freezing but clean interior.

The place was a standard shake shack ambiance. It was busy but not too busy where we were greeted and served quickly. The burger I ordered was terrible! Poorly put together, the burger patty wasn't even a patty but almost like bits of meat held together with cheese (as seen in the pic). The cheese sauce literally squirted out of the burger as I took a bite (very unappealing). The mushroom part of the burger was huge but the burger itself was hardly there. The buns were too small for the burger (the bottom one could hardly be found!). When getting a refill for my sprite took 3 minutes, I decided to leave. The place was somewhat dirty as well, many areas uncleaned including where the ketchup and napkins were.

Shake Shack is a now well known burger chain offering upscale fast food at an upscale price. It's been a few years since I've been to Shake Shack and I thought I would try it again. This location is very much like any other Shake Shack offering expensive food with good quality. My double shack burger ($10.99) was excellent- the bun was soft and buttered perfectly, the paddies excellent merged well with the cheese, and vegetables fresh. Service was fast but I was a little annoyed to be prompted for a tip from a fast food restaurant. I brought my little one and was quite occupied by his rambunctiousness so when I asked an employee walking by if I could have a high chair I was a little annoyed that they pointed me to the back of the restaurant instead of getting me one. There was only one other occupied table in the restaurant. It's small, but if you ask for a tip and sell yourself as being upscale little things like this make all the difference - and are the reason I couldn't put today's visit in 5-star territory. Despite the quality I've always found Shake Shack to be a little overpriced. An equally if not slightly better burger can be found at a much better price across the street at In and Out. Nonetheless if you are looking for something simple, good, yet a little uninspired, you can't go wrong with the Americana Shake Shack. Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Value: 3.5/5

I came here often when I lived in this area 6-7 years ago. I liked it a lot back then. Food still tastes ok. But my Chicken sandwich bun is not that pretty as before. The bun was kinda flattened not fluffy...looked a little dehydrated Service is fine. Employees were happily talking to each other. Took a while to realize that I was waiting to ask for my drink that they forgot. Place was clean.

Located near the Americana, Shake Shack is known for their sweet buns on their juicy burgers. Parking is a bit difficult in this area, you might get lucky with street parking, or the parking lot behind Shake Shack, if not you'll have to go a couple blocks over to one of the paid parking structures. Ordering at Shake Shack is now all self serve. You place your order at one of the ipads, grab a number, and they'll bring you your food. I got the "big shack burger" a special menu item at the time. It essentially was a big mac, two beef patties, a middle bun, tomato, onion, lettuce, the works. It was about $16 without fries. The burger was cooked well and juicy. The veggies inside were fresh and crisp. A special shout out to them using real produce, the onions were whole and not some chopped up mess. The lettuce was unwilted and actually had some flavor to it. I imagine back in the 50s this is kind of what burgers were like before they got turned into these mass produced chemical scienced abominations. Overall it was a good burger. It was not the best burger I've had for $16, but it is better than the other fast food burgers I've had recently. If you're looking for something simple and good, then this is the burger place you should try.

Chicken Nuggets and Fries. Very good and fresh.

Premium burgers. We like Shake Shake, but don't love it. The burgers for my taste need more seasoning; and next time I will add ONIONS to my order. Not to compare, but "In-N-Out Burger" may be lesser tier in terms of quality beef and menu offerings, but the burgers there are tastier. However... We love the shakes, chicken sandwich, fries, and offerings of adult beverages. Staff are so nice at this location. Music is nice. Plus it's open late: till 11pm. Parking is in the back ALLEY paid meter or structured parking . Homeless population are present in the alley and around, but mostly harmless. It's an LA problem not Shake Shack.

Finally tried the vegetarian shake shack mushroom burger. It squirted in my face when I bit into it, that's how juicy it is. I like that they put so much cheese in it. It had a lot of body for something vegetarian. I'd get it again but shake shack is so damn expensive. Also needs like ranch or an aioli to add some moisture n sauciness

shake shack has very tasty burgers with very flavorful meat patties. there's quite a few cons with the biggest at double the price at almost $9 for a single burger that's kinda small. the buns aren't toasted and crispy and there isn't an option for grilled onions. i rarely go to shake shack but it does taste better than in n out every time. plenty of seats inside and outside and got free parking at glendale galleria.

I absolutely love Shake Shack, and so does my pup Howie! Alejandro, Allie, Alexis, Michael, and the whole crew make every visit feel so warm and welcoming--it's truly a community here. My dog insists on walking me over, and they treat him like the king he is. The customer service is consistently outstanding, and the food? Always fresh, delicious, and worth every bite. Thank you for bringing so much joy to me and Howie--we couldn't love this place more! -Natalie

We love shake shack. Always a great burger and fries we grabbed a bunch of burgers to go at this location and were very happy with our decision. The cashier was quick to take our order. The surrounding area is very clean and safe. There is outdoor seating available as well. The restaurant was very clean inside I took off a star for the bathroom not being as clean as it should be but overall it was great experience. Very limited on street parking which requires you pay.

In a quick overnight trip to LA checked in pretty late and almost everything was closed or closing some fancier places still open but just wanted a quick bite. Saw this as it was accross the street and grabbed some food to eat at the hotel. Order a double cheeseburger, fries and a strawberry shake and I was pretty much pot committed when I saw the almost $24 charge. To be honest the meat was very good and the hamburger was juicy and bun was great. I enjoyed the fries also as they were crispy on the outside but tender inside and well seasoned. The shake was outstanding. The service was good, the place was busy but efficient but just can't get over the price. A family of four could easy drop almost $100 and that probably does not include the tip so too pricey for me for this cost I would go to a full sit down restaurant. So the food a solid 4, the vibe is a 4.5 but can only give it a 3 for the value.

Some of the many tables and seats.

There is street parking and a parking lot round the back. It is Glendale so it's all metered parking. Nice place and clean. More than enough seating and spacious. The staff was really nice. I had a Single Black Truffle Burger. Very good and was more filling than it looked. But wow it's pretty small lol. I also got the parmesan fries with truffle dip. Also really good. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside and the dip was pretty awesome. Parmesan was just right. The Mango Passionade was refreshing. An employee offered to take our trays when we finished. All in all a delicious meal and great service. Thank you!

One inch longer metal was found inside my hamburger

Inside, and at the tables out front, people everywhere and a staff moving a lightspeed. On the bright side, the staff who run the sign-in sheet are very good at estimating your wait time. A party of two will usually get seated quicker than larger parties. And wait time will depend if you will take first available or if you prefer indoors or outside. Also of note, in addition, it appears they have tables inside the building right across the alley as well. So you might not be seated inside the main building...they are a busy place. If you haven't been before, I suggest you visit the website and read through the menus. If you go, like us, around noon, you'll get two multi-page menus - one with breakfast items and one for lunch. There's a lot to choose from, including pastries. They have about seven free parking spots directly behind the restaurant but behind that is a very large public parking lot. It's a very easy walk to the restaurant. Free parking always a plus. My wife picked the benedict with salmon and enjoyed the flavor but the dish was not served hot. I picked the chicken fried steak which I would not recommend. The flavor was good but the steak is so thin all you taste is the coating and the gravy (which was very good). Also of note, their breakfast potatoes come with peppers but you can order the potatoes "plain" which was great for me. So really just three-stars for our food choices. They also have a large number of bakery items and a specialty coffee area. Lots to choose from. The atmosphere inside the main building is definitely old-school dinner. They decorate for holidays so you might see goblins around in October. Free refills on fountain drinks, which is a plus. The staff was friendly and hustled. Five-stars for effort and attitude. So, read up, go during the week to avoid the crowds and...enjoy!!!

It's a wonderful sandwich--I asked for mild spread, btw, but it's good, too. Also, the patty melt comes as double but get a third patty added. I think the patties are 1.75 or 2 oz so it's worth getting the extra meat. The service is relatively friendly. The ambiance is outdoor seating, so there is a lot of street noise. I'm not sure if they have a bathroom. And parking is on the street. Prices are kinda up there for a burger, but to me it's worth it. Keep in mind that smash burgers aren't typically juicy due to the smashing. But the sauce, onions, pickles, and other condiments are where you'll get "juicy" from. You get the smash for the crispy edges and onions smashed into the burger. But I'm not sure the onions are smashed in here, tbh. Give it a try. I believe you'll dig it.

Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite when it came to service. We sat at the bar, and the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. There were at least four people working behind the bar, which made the lack of service even more puzzling. It genuinely felt like we were being ignored. Not in a "they're slammed" kind of way, there was just a really odd lack of acknowledgment throughout our entire meal. What's especially surprising is how many reviews mention great service, because that was definitely not our experience. I asked to taste a couple of different beers before deciding, which was totally fine, but after that it took forever to actually get someone's attention to order one. Once we finally got our beer, we were ready to order food, but again, no one acknowledged us. We waited patiently and eventually had to get someone's attention ourselves. We ordered the fish and chips and the pot roast French dip. The menu says the French dip comes with a choice of chips or salad, but our server never asked us which we wanted. We assumed chips were the default since the choice was never mentioned. When our food arrived, we didn't have any silverware. We asked the person who dropped off our food for some, and he seemed genuinely confused by the request. It took a while for him to bring us rolled silverware that was apparently already ready to go. We then asked about the chips with the sandwich. He went to the kitchen, came back with the ticket, told us it came with salad and that we needed to request chips, and then simply walked away. This was probably the most frustrating part because it would have been such an easy customer-service moment to handle differently. Chips aren't exactly an expensive or complicated item. A simple, "It actually comes with salad unless you request chips, but no problem I'll bring you some," would have completely changed the interaction. Instead, we were essentially told we were wrong and left it at that. After that, no one checked on us. I needed some extra malt vinegar and asked the bartender for it. He never brought it and never acknowledged the request again. What made the whole experience even stranger was that the people sitting around us seemed to be getting perfectly normal service. It just felt like we were somehow invisible. After we finished eating, our plates sat in front of us for a long time. Again, no one checked on us, asked if we wanted another drink, dessert, or anything else. I eventually had to physically push my plate toward the edge of the bar and ask for the check before we got any acknowledgment. I honestly can't remember the last time I experienced service that was this consistently odd and nonexistent. And unfortunately, the food itself wasn't anything particularly memorable either. We were genuinely looking forward to having a new neighborhood spot, so it was disappointing to leave with such a bad impression. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but based on our experience, we won't be returning.
