I have always been curious why almost every Shake Shack location has a three star rating. I love a good burger, so I finally stopped by their Costa Mesa location to give them a try for the first time. All orders are placed at one of three kiosks just inside the front door. Take one of the stands with a number on it, enter that number on your order, and then a staff member will deliver your order to your table when it is ready. The inside of the restaurant is somewhat small, with just three booths and four tables. They have a nice patio outside which with about ten tables. Half of the tables have an umbrella over them, and there are also a few heat lamps for when it is cold outside. I ordered the Avocado Bacon Burger. It had a nice soft bun, and all of the ingredients were in plain view. I took the first bite and it was delicious. The proportion of ingredients was perfect, and I could taste them all in every bite. I wasn't super hungry, so I only ordered it with a single patty. I think next time I would order the double patty to get a little more of the beef flavor in the mix. This burger was very good, even with just a single patty. I also ordered a side of onion rings which were very good. The serving size was average, and they were nice and crispy and not oily. They have several dipping sauces which you can add to the order for free. My friend enjoyed his double ShackBurger, crinkle cut fries, and banana custard shake. I had some of the fries and they were fresh and crisp, and they obviously just came out of the fryer a very short time ago. Yes, they are a little on the expensive side, but there aren't a whole lot of bargains out there for a good burger. I definitely don't understand the three star average rating, and I would be happy to dine here again or to try another location.

Shake shack slappps. The burger has tons of flavor and is a good size. Their shakes are creamy and amazing and their onion rings and crinkle fries were perfectly crispy. A lot of times I don't love crinkle fries but these ones are great. A good competitor to in n out

We gave Shake Shack Costa Mesa a second try after a less-than-stellar experience a few months ago, when our takeout order was incorrect (something we didn't notice until we got home). This time, we decided to dine in and ordered the OG--ShakeBurger, both a single (with onions) and a double (without onions). The wait was reasonable for a Saturday afternoon, and I like this location for its ample parking and plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. The store was clean and well-maintained. While I liked the soft buns and fresh toppings, I found the patties disappointing. I understand the appeal of a smash burger, but these were overly charred and dry. At nearly $10-$15 per burger, I was expecting something more flavorful or distinctive. After two visits, I still don't quite understand the hype. Just not for me.

This burger was so delicious. I added onions and pickles, and they were so fresh. The fries were cooked to perfection and so thick. The cookies and cream shake was amazing as well. It had very big pieces of cookies. The service was also very fast!!

I've been to other locations of Shake Shack, but this was my first time at the Costa Mesa location. They're located on busy 17th street so you can't miss it! Lots of parking available in front and on the sides. I pulled up right when they opened at 11am and there was only one other person who came in after me. I ordered my food to go and they put it in a box so I could eat it in the car. The order taker was not very friendly - just matter of fact. I don't expect much but a smile would be nice. I ordered the ShackBurger which comes with cheese, tomato, lettuce & Shack sauce for $7.99. It's a good burger but the bun is a little rubbery to me. I also got an order of crinkle fries for $4.49, which were way over salted. There are better burger places out there, but if you're in the area and craving a burger, this will do.

Download the app! There's some good offers/coupons like free fries or free burger with a $10 purchase. I agree with other yelpers that it is a little pricier than other burger places, $8-10 a burger that's not that big. However taste wise it is still delicious! And I love their crinkle cut fries as well! I ordered the truffle burger this time, some good light truffle flavor (I probably would just get their Shack Burger next time). I also tried their chicken nuggets, not bad! Reminds me of chick fila nuggets but this one was more crispier and had better seasoning.

Heard about the Dubai chocolate Milk shake and had to give it a try, so I popped into this Shake Shack in the OC since it was the closest spot to me. It was later in the evening, so the place was pretty chill with hardly any crowd. The store was super clean, and the staff were really nice, which made the visit pleasant. I ordered on the kiosk, and my shake came out in like 5 minutes which was nice and quick! The shake was decent, but I was expecting a bigger chocolate punch. It had this thin chocolate coating on the outside, which was good but not mind-blowing. Overall, it was a solid stop, and the clean vibe and friendly employees made it worth it.

Ordered from their new location recently (where pancakes r us used to be RIP) on 17th st. They were offering a Bogo deal on their truffle burger so how could I refuse ? My order came thru in good time and I of course opted for lettuce wrap. I highly recommend you go with a bun on this particular order as it be on the salty side with just lettuce. But overall the burger was juicy, delicious and the fragrant truffle came thru in every bite so no complaints there. Seems like they're getting a bad rap lately but the burgers are still solid in my opinion compared to the other options and I'm also glad there's a location closer to my home now. Overall, highly recommended for any burger aficionado that has a hankering for a quality tasting burger, they definitely satisfy the hankering for a burger fix! Happy Eats!

The service was great. The employee was very helpful answering questions. This was our first and last time going there. We won't be back as the burger was very flavorful. I ordered a cheeseburger with crispy onions but their meat patty even though it's got a lot of flavor is so thin almost thin like two stacked crackers. it had great flavor, but for two burgers, one chicken sandwich , two fries two drinks $67 Definitely Was not worth it. Due to price of shakes we didn't get them.

I ended up having work on veteran's day but luckily my team bought us free shake shack. Ended up getting a cheese burger combo. It was good but honestly I probably woulnd't pay for it since it's pretty pricey for a small little burger. I would need 3 or 4 of these to get full. Fries were good though and lemonade was lemonade. However $9.59 for a cheeseburger that size is not worth it to me. Maybe if it was a double? Sorry Shake. Team In n out.

    CUP OF PICKLES. THANKS ADRIAN
    Emmy H.

So shake shack is getting the 4 stars because the employee man king Adrian offered to bring me a cup of pickles !!!! Which is the world's greatest gift. And then he give my dog a treat!!!!! Shake shack branded cookie for coopy. Lowkey the food was mid, like the fries were fire obvi, but I got the grilled cheese and I'm not picky so I'm not complaining but it was just lowkey sad asf. I def would never spend $6 on it again, it was flat as fuck lookin like 2 pancakes with a slice of orange cheese between. Was like room temperature, meh. But pickles hit the spot and the patio was pretty nice to sit at with my dog and best friend. Overall, the employees and fries were the highlight--and my dog's was the treat !

Went to my local shake shack for lunch yesterday and order my usual got the house chicken sandwich and the parmesan fries both really good they always are my only problem with shake shack is their prices I only got those two items and it was 15 plus dollars and that was with no drink and something new yesterday which makes even less sense to tip after my food was brought out I asked the lady for a side of ranch normally they say no problem and bring it right to me this time the girl said I actually have to walk up to the counter to receive the ranch which had me a little confused I asked her why did I need to come up here for a side of ranch when every time I come here I asked for it and you guys bring it to the table in her word she says you now have to come up to the counter for any kind of condom in whether it be ranch ketchup that kind of thing so now they want to do even less work but still want a tip via the kiosk well that's not going to happen anyways well done shake shack you make a quality product and I will continue to be a customer

I've been here twice now and tried about five different flavors total, and every single one was gross. The Experience: * Bad Flavors: On my last visit, I actually had to ask the worker to swap my flavor because I was convinced I just got a "bad" one. The second flavor was somehow even worse. I didn't even finish it; I just threw it away because it was that nasty. * Texture & Taste: It tastes like watered-down diet ice cream. It lacks any of the richness or flavor you'd expect from a specialized shop, especially for how expensive it is. I wouldn't even go back if the ice cream were free. The Location Trap: This place is right on 17th Street next to Sidecar Doughnuts and Pop Pie Co., which is a great, convenient location. I think people only go here because it's a "cool-looking" spot to stop at while driving to the beach or grabbing a donut next door. If it weren't for the location, I don't see how they would stay in business. Final Verdict: Don't be fooled by the convenient location or the surrounding shops. The ice cream is truly disappointing and definitely not worth the price. I won't be coming back ever.

I was super excited when I saw House of yogurt. Like most yogurt shops, this place is bright and cheery, the drill is pretty much the same. Wherever you go. Grab a cup. Fill it up with yogurt. Add all your toppings, pay for it and chow down. But what makes this place nice is the quality of staff that they have. Before we get to that, let me talk about some of the flavors okay. They had one that I had never seen before which was Cracker Jack flavored. Let me tell you something okay that there alone is a reason to go back while they have it. It is absolutely one of the best tasting yogurts I've ever had. While they have a billion different toppings you can put on your yogurt. I opted to go old school and use graham cracker crust. It's always a good compliment when you get a really sweet yogurt because it reminds you of like a cheesecake or cream pie. As I said, the people that work there are a+. They're very young, which can lead to problems that I've seen in other places where they're not very attentive to the customers. Not the case here! These workers actually care about your experience.
