It was ok. I like the customer service but I ordered the real Hawaiian shaved ice. It's not really real. They had vanilla effing ice cream...at the bottom. It should be macadamia. We chose this restaurant because the website looked good and had fairly good reviews. We were disappointed. Our burgers were severely undercooked - we could not even finish them. The fries were very greasy, the orders were messed up. Everyone seemed quite confused as to what was the orders were supposed to be. Food was good and service was great. However, I observed a female with glasses who seemed to be the manager interacting with an employee, and there attitude was less then ideal. While they seemed knowledgeable about what the employee was saying, their tone came off as dismissive and impatient. The lady seemed to know what she was doing, her line was moving quickly. The young guy with glasses, not so much. He acts like he moving fast, but In actually he's not! It was finally my turn and all I wanted was a drink. All of a sudden this guy disappeared!!! He started helping the lady fill her next order? I said excuse me, where did this guy go! The lady then said ohhhh sorry what can I get you? I said all I need is a drink, but where did this disappear to? I then see him running around in the kitchen with an ice cream. The cheeseburgers and fries, they were delicious as well, but nothing super special about them. They were what we'd expected, but they certainly hit the spot, and no one complained. Besides, right out front of Pipeline's is a a small, picnic bench seating area, perfect for giving your pedal a rest, soaking in some sun, and enjoying the beach. BEEARE CUSTOMERS On 6/30/23 Rosemary Olivarez and I purchased an (1) ice cream from Pipeline for $5.06. As we left the girl who waited on us ran after us and said she accidental charged $80 for a tip and would return it to Rosemary's card after it cleared even though it cleared immediately. A day passed, no return of the unauthorized tip, then the following day we called Pipeline and spoke to a manager, Allyson. She said she would reverse the charge back to my card. Several calls later and empty promises. A mistake was made then Pipeline kept the $80 fraudulently charged tip. Watch it folks and check your receipts especially Senior Citizens. I've eaten here a handful of times since I ride the beach bike trail. The food is standard beach-front style diner food, but it's still pretty good. I am fond of the double bacon cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. I recently tried the chicken sandwich and it was good, but probably will go back to the cheeseburger next time. Cute little shop that serves burgers, fries, and hot dogs but my boyfriend and I stopped here for their Balboa Bar with the works (basically just a vanilla ice cream bar dipped in milk chocolate and covered with graham crackers, oreos, peanuts, and sprinkles). Diabetes in my mouth for sure. I was telling my boyfriend how I think it would be better if they prepared the ice cream in advance and kept it frozen in a freezer because the ice cream was already beginning to melt when I took my initial bite. Very good place for ice dipped cones just across the safeguards in Newport beach. Is worthy is not the mych the medium ice cream cones is like $2.75 . A lot of young kids works in this joint and they are polite and nice with everyone. I notice they serve hamburguers and quick things to grab to eat and they are very fast and efficient. read more

I say somewhat but in all honesty it probably compares to most shave ice here. Guess I'm spoiled by the real stuff in Hawaii. LOL They've got a pretty large menu for being such a little place and the wait was not long at all.
