There is nostalgia in this space. Jane's has been a family staple since...forever...and I'm over 50 :) Today I got some bad news...and Jane's Corn dogs at Newport Pier was just what I needed to go back to better days and smile. Delicious corn dogs and tart & cold lemonade. Thanks for always being here Jane

This place is a relic from the past and it's positively adorable! I was craving a chocolate covered banana and they have so many fattening treats here! If you want to eat healthy, they have popcorn! I'm sure it's more fun in the summertime. It's super cool and retro.

Not worth $5 for a microwave corn dog. Also, the discrimination was sickening. For one, there were no signs saying cash only. And we noticed people prior to and after us paying with card/tap. they clearly have a debit machine that says they take square, both at the register and outside in the door. but after we ordered, after we got our food, for us, the cashier said cash only. We had to go to the ATM outside to get cash out. When asked why the people before us paid with their card, he said "no, for YOU, cash". & continued to ignore our questions for his reasoning. Not sure what his reason was to single us out, but that mixed with the terrible customer service. For food that was not worth it. Would not spend my money here again.

I crave Jane's chili fries and it always hits the spot so yummy! 10/10. Id try other food on the menu next time I'm in the area

If you don't want to wait for that long line across the street for a ham and cheese croissant, then you should go to Jane's Corndog. The corn dogs and cheese sticks are amazing and always prepared on order.

This place is the bomb! Located at the Newport Beach Pier right next to the chili restaurant. You can park and pay for parking or park somewhere else and walk down. They have a variety of snacks and small foods here: ice cream, frozen banana, corn dogs, hot dogs, fries, etc. The corndogs cost $5 for one and I paid cash. No tax was added while paying cash so that was great. You can find a ketchup and mustard dispenser along side the window with some napkins. They make the corndogs fresh and they're really good! I would definitely come back to try their other treats. They accept card, unsure about apple pay, but cash seems to be the way to go if you want to avoid the tax.

I stumbled upon Jane's Corndogs in Newport Beach in the best way possible. I saw a girl on the pier eating a corn dog that looked way too good to ignore, so I asked her where she got it and that's how I ended up here. I ordered the World Famous Fresh Hand Dipped Corn Dog, and wow... it truly lives up to the name. It was made fresh and hand-dipped right on the spot, then cooked immediately. You can absolutely taste the difference perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, and piping hot. Nothing frozen or premade about it. I also ordered the funnel cake with strawberries, which was another huge win. It was freshly made, golden, crispy, and topped generously with strawberries. Sweet, warm, and totally satisfying perfect for sharing, but I honestly didn't want to. The location is super convenient, just a short walking distance from the pier, making it an easy stop while strolling around Newport Beach. The service was amazing friendly, fast, and welcoming. You can tell they care about what they serve and the experience they give. Definitely check it out if you're craving for something sweet or savory.

The chili cheese dog and strawberry funnel cake were great! Perfect place to grab some food and eat on the pier.

This place is not bad is pretty desserts but the value is just fine. Service was fine because self serve as my food was in the freezer. Place is just fine not too shabby but not exactly 5 star. I would say it's a place for a quick late night snack especially since it's near the surrounding bars.

Jane's Corndogs has been a staple at Newport Pier for many years now and while it isn't much - it sure serves the crowds of drunken people and tourists. The food is usually okay but prices are a bit high for what you get. The workers are friendly though! If you're not an asshole of course. P.S. They accept card and tap payments now!

On the pier/beach, on the go sweet treats and snacks to enjoy. Some beachside classics: corn dogs, cheese dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, pickles, ice cream, frozen bananas, ice cream bars dipped in chocolate with rainbow sprinkles (they pre make them in the morning they said and sit in the freezer for more convenient purchase) , candy applies, shakes/smoothers, nachos too I believe. Usually a line out the door, but their service is pretty quick for how crowded it can get.

Food: 3.75. Came by for a corn dog. You order and pick up at the counter. Corn dog is made fresh. It takes a moment but you get it a nice crispy shell. Corn dog was ready timely and at the right temperature. Corn dog is big but did cost just under $5 after tax. There are self serve condiments. The person who took my order also made my corn dog. Service was friendly and efficient. Service: 4 Ambiance: Takeout Value: 3.5

When I hear corndogs, I think of the fair. When I think of fair, I think of funnel cakes, which I love. The menu houses them along with chili cheese fries, nachos, ice cream sundaes, ice cream bars, etc. Plus, they're open till 3am- we already had plans to get some. Around midnight, we brought back 2 strawberry funnel cakes and 2 ice cream sundaes to our nearby Airbnb. The deep fried goodness was crispy, sweet and nostalgic of the days when I used to go to Marine World just to get a funnel cake. If you have a thing for fair food like me, definitely drop by when hanging in Newport Beach!

Such a disappointment!!…read more I have been a fan of both Jacks and Dwight's for almost 50 years. Because Dwight's is still closed I stopped by here a few weeks ago craving "Strips & Cheese" The girl at the counter told me they were out of cheese. WHAT!! That's a first for me! OK so not cheese so I guess no Strips and Cheese! The girl at the counter was clueless, I even asked her if the owner was in and she said no, then I asked if the owner was aware that they didn't have any cheese because I have met the owner several times and I know that he would fix this situation right away. The girl at the counter just shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. Yesterday, the wife and kids went to the beach and again we stoped in for some strips. There was no line to order but there were 5 or 6 unhappy people waiting for their food. 25 minutes later we got our food while we watched a girl texting on her phone while food sat under the heat lamps. I asked the girl for an extra strips sauce and some BBQ sauce for my kids chicken fingers. The girl brought me a cup of salsa, like she filled up a Coca-Cola cup to the rim with the dipping sauce and then said they were out of barbecue sauce and all they had left was one side of ranch. Me and another customer looked at each other and then started talking about how bad the service. That other customer told me that Jack's lost their lease and that this was the last summer that this place was going to be here. I asked the employee about it and she confirmed it. It's kinda like this place it's just going downhill because why offer good service when the restaurants is closing in a few weeks. The whole situation was very sad because I remember old man Dwight, his son Jack who is now I think 90 years old is someone I've known since I was literally like five years old and then watching his son and his grandson run this particular store and now watching it fall apart again makes me kind of sad . What a mess !

My family of six rented single bikes from this shop and it was a frustrating experience from start…read moreto finish. The cruiser bikes were old, poorly maintained, and in some cases, defective--definitely not safe for rental. They also didn't have enough functioning helmets, and when we raised concerns, we were told, "As long as you're not biking fast, you should be fine." Be very careful with the rental timing. Although we didn't leave the store until 15 minutes after the time noted on our receipt (due to figuring out how to use their faulty bikes), they began charging us from the moment I signed the form, not when we actually left. The staff didn't explain how the contract or billing worked and just said, "We'll settle when you come back." We returned the bikes after 80 minutes and were charged $187 + tax, because they bill for a full day once you go past one hour. There's no grace period even though the bikes were difficult to ride and in poor condition - riding them for over an hour wouldn't be enjoyable anyway. Learn from my mistake: don't rent bikes near the beach, especially from this business. If I could do it again, I'd rent farther from the beachfront, carefully review the rental terms, and confirm the exact start time before signing anything.

To my surprise, he told me he used to stop by here all the time when he was in high school. We agreed we'd go try it if we were ever in the area and today was that day. We both got their Chicago dog and shared a large chili cheese fries. I'm a huge chili cheese fries lover and their fry to chili ration is perfect! I've gone to a few places where they don't add enough chili so this was the perfect amount. This was my first time trying a Chicago dog and it was honestly delicious. Perfect amount of savory and sourness. I also ordered their Thai tea and usually I get no boba but forgot to mention that when I ordered. I still drank it though and their boba pearl was actually nice and chewy. Their Thai tea isn't too milky which is how I prefer my Thai tea because I love the bitterness of the tea. They have a small drive thru you can order from or you can park and walk up to their ordering window on the opposite side of the drive thru. We decided to sit and enjoy our order since the sun was beginning to set. Also do y'all see those prices?! Definitely a good stop and affordable. I also believe it's Cambodian owned! The order process was pretty simple -- I responded to their Instagram story and they reached out with follow-up questions, menu options, and pickup details. The pickup was from a home residence in the city of Garden Grove (off of Brookhurst Street and Hazard Avenue), nearby Pho 79 if you're familiar with the area. The exact address is provided with your order! The owner, Aamir, was very friendly and professional when I picked up my food and the burgers were packaged very neatly in separate boxes. I ordered two smash burgers that included three patties each, which cost $15 per burger. They included caramelized onions and jalapenos, which were a delightful surprise. The patties were a little salty, but upon reading the other reviews, I see that the owner pre-marinates the patty meat. The prices were also steep for just the burger, and I thought my order would come with fries on the side, but that doesn't take away from the quality of the food. All in all, I would return for future orders and would love to see them open a brick-and-mortar restaurant someday, ideally in Garden Grove still. 10/10 rating and five stars all around for a seamless ordering experience, delicious food, and timeless customer service.

The owner is super responsive, and you can tell he wants to provide the best service possible. During this special pop-up event, they were serving two's a tango that features their warm brioche bun along with two halal patties smashed with cheese and carmelized onions on top. The burger itself was massive, with one being more than enough to feed a hungry person. After talking to the owner, he mentioned he pre-marinates his meat, so that could be the reason why the taste was a little salty for us. The sauce is awesome and complimentary, so when ordering, if you don't plan on eating the burger right away, to prevent sogginess, ask for extra on the side. I know some people prefer the meatiness, but I am a sauce type of girl. Overall, the flavors of the burger meshed well! Thank you for adding another place for halal goodness. I'm hoping you guys do well and keep quality up.
