Cheeseburger, fries, chicken fingers, and ranch

Have been here twice now and it is my go-to spot at Huntington Beach for lunch! Food is super fresh. I got the cheeseburger which was cooked perfectly with fresh veggies and condiments! My fiancé got the chicken tenders and fries which came with one of the best homemade ranches I've had for dipping. Service was fast and friendly so we could get back to swimming and hanging out at the beach. The area was clean and well kept and stocked with all the condiments you would need for whatever you decide to order. The patio tables they have set up were packed so expect it to be busy during lunch time but don't worry, you won't have to wait long!

Me and my brothers in jacks to eat yummy meals.

The tall one (and most handsome) took our order very well and made sure to include lots of eye contact and good customer service when taking our order. The cook (his name was Rossy) created a most whimsical concoction of wonderful food and I felt blessed in the stomach after eating it. I do believe this made my day at the beach much better than when I arrived. Thank you jacks concession stand I will be back.

Came out to do a surrey ride this weekend. We opted for a double seater surrey to fit our party of 6. We did it for about an hour and only paid 35$. The surrey itself didn't have a horn or chime that worked so we had to yell that we were coming through which wasn't a problem. The pedals on the back right of the blue double we had felt like they weren't working at times or that you were falling off the side. Overall we had a pretty good time cycling and getting our exercise in for the day. I would recommend doing this activity with friends or family. The food on the other hand -- the shaved ice was not up to par. The ice itself tasted really bad like watered down and no syrupy flavor and the spoons we were given were dusty and dirty. Very much a disappointment. We also purchased the chicken tenders and they were also very greasy. If you're thirsty, definitely purchase a fountain drink but maybe skip the tenders and shaved ice because it was a waste of money.

I came here and got a single surrey rental for $25. You pay per hour. I rode for one hour. You pay at the end of your ride and they hold onto your license. I'm a little under 5'3" and had a little bit of difficulty reaching the pedals on the surrey. A single surrey fits 2 people. They also have surreys that fit 4-8 people. Bike rentals are $10. They also let you rent balls, boogie boards, and much more. They sell towels as well. The concession also sells food. They're known for cheese strips. They open until 5PM. The location is great because it's right across from the busy and popular Pacific City shopping center. There's street metered parking or parking in a parking lot for $15.

Food is great, service friendly. Lots of options a little pricey but comparable for the location. The parking is $15 if you park in the lot for the beach, so try for street parking unless you are planting down at the beach all day. They accept cash or card at the counter. Arrive early to get seating and avoid lines/crowds.

Do they close shop for the winter season?

They are Seasonal. March 9th, 2026 rode by on bike and they were not open. I live in the area and they weren't open in February or January.

Does anybody know the cheese strip sauce recipe? I am dying to remember what it was and am willing to purchase this recipe!

Allegedly this is the original recipe from the 1960's-70's at Dwight’s in Huntington Beach. It's similar to Jack's if not the same - same owners. Enjoy!…

Very simple ~ tortilla chips, shredded cheese and red sauce. They certainly don't skimp on the delicious cheddar cheese, which I love! How can you go wrong with crispy, salty tortilla chips and cheese? Having said that, they are a little over hyped in my opinion. *shrug* I would eat them again but I think the price was a bit steep at $10.

It's also nice how it's close to the restroom so you can wash your hands easily. The menu was pretty small which surprised me - I think there were barely any food options. My friend and I got the famous cheese strips with salsa, pesto chicken sandwich, and a burger which totaled $39 (pricey, but not sure if this is just beach food standards). Pesto chicken was $15, the burger was $12, and cheese strips were $10. Chicken sandwich was definitely not worth it; the chicken was super dry and tough, but sourdough bread was good so that's something. The burger was a regular burger, nothing special, wish it came with fries. The cheese strips with salsa were honestly really good... I didn't think much of it at first because it's literally just tortilla chips, shredded cheese, and salsa, but honestly it worked so well together. Do I think it's worth the cost? Not really. Would I get it again? Yes. Overall, still a nice little shack next to the pier. It's more affordable than some of the other beach restaurants, but it really depends on whether or not you're looking for a fast casual or more sit-down spot.

Service is nice and friendly, not bad for waiting. Ordered a burrito ($11) with 1/2 marinated pork (which is quite good), and 1/2 with tongue (interesting, not bad but I wouldn't do it again for the burrito, for taco - yes) w/o cheese & bean - basically meats w/ rice and everything else. The portion is quite HUGE, 2 people can finish w/ that for sure. Overall, it was very tasty burrito w/ a lot of condiments, she even gave me grilled onions with it l, which are sweet & delish. Glad that I decided to stop by to give it a try. Will definitely come back for more.

[Parking]: $15 per vehicle for on-site parking just to enter the OC Fair & Event Center. [Admission]: Our party purchased the same-day tickets and paid a $16 per person entry fee. [What to expect]: The market was approximately half food vendors and half arts / crafts / gift vendors. There were solid craft and gift vendors, but not too many art vendors. The food was extremely overpriced ... a simple appetizer = at least $15+ & a filling meal = at least $25. The only real positive? There was a mahjong area that offered free lessons. The performance stage was alright. [Food]: Our party ended up getting only 6 pieces of soup dumplings (aka XLB) from Dumpling Dream for $14 and a cup of gelatea from Boutcha for $7.20 (one of the most affordable and best item to get at the market). [Conclusion]: If I ever come back to 626 Night Market, I would probably stick with the Arcadia location as parking is free and the admission fee is slightly cheaper. I am still having a hard time digesting the fact that getting into the market cost $30+ before even buying any food if I come here alone and I would also need to spend another $25+ just to feel like I had eaten a legit meal. I am good with this one-and-done visit.
