10.3.25: I was visiting a friend who lives down here and she comes here on a regular and said I had to try it. It's California so I already knew parking was going to be difficult, not to mention it's the weekend of the air show. However, we found parking in a near by garage, which was just a short walk across the street to the restaurant. When we walked in, my friend wanted to sit at the bar, so we did. She saw her friend Charlie was working and he was our server. He was pretty laid back and friendly. My friend ordered us the edamame as an appetizer and it was really good. It took a while for it to arrive, but when it did, it was hot, spicy, and garlicky. It was pan fried with some really yummy spices. As for entrees, I ordered the Aloha Bowl with tofu and my friend ordered the same but with broccoli beef. It also comes with 2 fried vegetable spring rolls. My tofu bowl full of flavor and decently sized too. The spring rolls were a nice addition and were fried well done. I would order the tofu bowl again. Ambience wasn't too busy and the general feel I get from the place is that they are super laid back and run on island time, if you know what I mean. Since we're right on the beach, this Hawaiian inspired spot was perfect for lunch.
Had an absolutely incredible time here yesterday for the 4th! Was greeted by Charles when I got a seat at the bar. Super cool, laid back, and chill dude who was super attentive from the beginning. However, it was not just him. The entire staff was working together as a team and they handled everything with ease considering they were slammed for the holiday. They were patient with everyone despite how busy they were. Caitlyn, Teresa, Joshua, Dawn, Luke, Brian, Grace, & Amanda absolutely rocked it! I was in the area for work reasons. I am not a Huntington Beach local but every time I go back, I am reminded how much I love this city. Everyone made me feel like I was home. I did not order food, but from what I could tell - the kitchen was busy and all their options looked amazing from what I saw being put out there. Let's just say I will definitely be back for food someday, but the staff is the main reason why I will go back. Keep up the great work everyone and thanks again for making me feel welcome & at home!
Ehh will not come back. The service sucked, everyone was just hanging out and chit chatting. You have to really flag people down because if it's not their table then no one cares. It was slow and not that much people inside the restaurant but we barely got help. It took some time to flag someone down for a knife for my pancakes. The food was mehh as well. It was alright food with higher beach food prices. For the price and service we receive, there are many other better options in the area. Since it was slow, not sure why it took sooo long to get our food and check. I got the macadamia pancakes with bananas and it literally tasted like regular plain pancakes, nothing special but almost $20.
Stopped by No Ka Oi for breakfast on a Sunday, and the whole area was buzzing with people out for football Sunday. We decided to sit in the back patio area, which was a lot quieter and more relaxed than the lively indoor section filled with game-day energy. Our server, Sara, was friendly and attentive. We ordered a margarita, frittata, and the Kilauea eggs benedict. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the outdoor seating was a nice spot to enjoy the morning. The food and drink were good, but nothing that stood out as exceptional. Still, it was an enjoyable visit overall. I'd like to come back on a calmer day to give it another try and explore more of the menu.
Met a friend for lunch today and couldn't have asked for a better Huntington Beach afternoon -- sunny, warm, and perfect for grabbing a table outside. The patio alone puts you in a good mood. I went with the spicy ahi bowl, and it was a solid choice. Fresh, good flavor, nothing over the top but consistently strong. Portion was big enough that I even had leftovers for the next day, which is always a bonus. Presentation was clean and inviting, aka cool slanted bowl. My buddy ordered the California burrito...or "the Stoner burrito (fries inside)" as my kids call it -- and he seemed pretty happy with it. Good size, hearty, and disappeared fast. Service was friendly and relaxed, exactly what you expect from a beach spot. Overall, just a great place to sit outside, enjoy the day, and appreciate the beauty of Huntington Beach while having a good meal. Would come back.
One of the best if not the only place to eat Loco Mocos. I have been coming here for years! I never seem to tire on the juicy patties with white rice. Also great bloody Mary's and Mimosas at this location The staff is nice and respectful at this establishment. Restrooms are kept clean. Nice Ambiance both indoor and outdoor! We usually stay outside patio, we get to see unusual people walk by lol. Overall, the best place to eat Breakfast for me. This is a must try. Parking lot is directly across the street.
We were walking around Huntington Beach when our friends decided to meet up with us on Main Street for dinner. We chose this spot, and luckily, it was still happy hour. Our server was excellent--very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I ordered the Hawaiian Kalua pork sliders. They sounded better than they tasted--just okay. My husband got the fish tacos, which were also pretty mediocre. But to be fair, we probably shouldn't have expected too much from a happy hour menu that includes an alcoholic drink with the entrée. Portions were on the smaller side. The ambiance was nice, though. We sat out on the patio area set up along the street. Our server made the experience more comfortable by turning up the heat lamp and lowering the blinds to block the wind and sun. Overall, great service and a pleasant atmosphere, but the food was just average.
Probably the best hollandaise sauce and the best home Freud potatoes in HB. So, if you already been to Sugar Shack for their Sausage Egg and Cheddar Breakfast Burrito, then head next door to No Ka Oi for the Eggs Benedict. They're awesome; try them with grilled spam substituted for Canadian bacon. The house potatoes are dropped in the fryer with red onion, red&green bell pepper, and carrot. Those are fantastic too.
EVERY TIME I'm in HB this is my MUST-GO to spot! I only get one of two dishes from their EXTENSIVE menu; Moco Locos (or Loco Mocos) or the Eggs Benedict. I've had both from other places but I find myself wanting Mo Ka Oi's Service as far as the servers are top notch. They are the HB vibe that makes this one of the most popular restaurants on Main Street. The sights from inside and outside are so HB calming
1. I love the Hawaiian Buns for the omelette sandwich, and the potatoes were nicely fried! The burrito was huge! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! It is located by the beach! 3. There are indoor and outdoor seatings! You don't need a host for indoor seating as you can walk in and grab an available table! 4. The staff was friendly and attentive! 5. Parking involves metered street parking, paid parking structures, and paid beach parking! Metered Parking is single line and not compact! Note: There is a fee for credit card transactions! We enjoyed another delicious Hawaiian breakfast at No Ka Oi this past Saturday (11/29) !!!! We were seated quickly and our server Sara did an awesome job for us !!! She was very friendly and took the time to get to know us while we were there !!! No Ka Oi is fortunate to have her as a Team Member !!! We enjoyed sitting out in the front patio area, it was a beautiful morning down on Main Street !!!

Food was awesome! It was packed at 10:30 on a Sat. and we were still seated & had our food quick! Our waitress, Grace , was great! Big smiles and really attentive. Food was delicious, 1 vegetarian, 1 meat eater both happy & stuffed & with our large portions we both still have food to take home. Highly recommend! read more

No Ka Oí is a fun Hawaiian restaurant and bar with plenty of seating both indoors and outside. The place has a very local feel, with TVs everywhere and a good mix of people hanging out, watching sports, eating, and having a drink. We ordered the Sumo Moco Loco, and it was a massive portion that could easily feed two people. The food was really good and definitely hit the spot. We also had the katsu chicken, which comes with the sauce already on it. The sauce was a little sweeter than I normally prefer, so next time I'd order it on the side so I can control how much goes on the chicken. The unexpected highlight was the cinnamon roll. It was buttery, soft, and cooked perfectly. Honestly, it was so good that I'd come back just for that. Our server was also great. She was friendly, attentive, and did an excellent job handling what looked like a lot of tables without making us feel ignored. Overall, No Ka Oí is a casual, laid-back spot with good Hawaiian food, generous portions, plenty of TVs, and a strong local vibe. And definitely save room for the cinnamon read more

During my most recent visit to Huntington, I was craving teriyaki chicken and my husband was craving poke, so we were stoked to find this restaurant to try. They have so many items on their menu, it's hard to choose because everything they offer sounds and looks great. I did switch up to the Huli Huli chicken (a favorite of mine) with mac salad and rice. My husband did stick to the spicy ahi tuna bowl. We also ordered a POG juice to split (another favorite of mine). Everything was fantastic! The food was so good I probably could have cried I was so happy. My husband's spicy ahi tuna bowl was delicious especially the freshness of the tuna. I did enjoy the Huli Huli chicken more, but probably the Mac salad sold me the most. Our POG was delicious too. Our server Joshua rocked too. Super welcoming and kind while also being attentive to us the whole time. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! read more

Food was great. Seating was quick for a Sunday morning. Portions were great. My friend ordered her chilaquiles without onion and it came with. My friend is shy and didn't say anything. When the server came to check on us, I had already finished eating. My friend didn't eat hers at all. The server didn't ask why her food was untouched, and my friend didn't speak up. It all went to waste. Bummer that her food didn't come correct as ordered, but mistakes do happen sometimes. read more
Adding a star to my updated review, because brunch at No Ka Oi was excellent today! They have generous portions, and food was cooked to perfection this morning. I ordered their egg florentine, which was delicious. I love the way they poach their eggs. Hubbie had had their corned beef hash, which was so good! Their corned beef is nice and chunky, with a right amount of crisp. My daughter had their seafood enchilada, which looked delicious as well. Today, we found out that there is a back patio you can sit at as well! It was nice and quiet, we enjoyed our brunch very much. Looking forward to going back and trying one of their many tempting Benedict choices. read more

Don't go; avoid at all cost. There are a wealth of better choices surrounding this location. I'm going to post a photo of my inedible breakfast which tasted as if someone dumped paprika and chili powder all over the Eggs Florentine. To their benefit they did not charge me for this, but my husband's order was just as bad. This photo was taken after we completed the meal and decided to leave. read more

Such a chill spot in a beautiful community. The staff was incredibly friendly and quick. We sat ourselves down in the back patio. The mochas were delicious (Tip: refills are on coffee and not on mochas)! The eggs were poached perfectly on both benedicts we ordered. Overall, amazing experience and would recommend anyone in the area stop by for a wonderful brunch service. 5 stars for a lovely weekday experience read more

How is this place still in business? I'm sure they have to have the sales to make the rent! Ordered an egg dish and a sandwich. The egg dish was supposed to be over easy. Was not. Chicken was pounded so thin and cooked so hard it was almost unrecognizable. Asked for mac salad got fries. The kicker was the waitress tried to had me my plate OVER my friend! That's waitress 101 no-no!! Very disappointed. read more

We came again tonight for dinner& were not disappointed. Our server, Allison, was delightful. The food was great, as usual. Vegetable shrimp tempura & pot stickers appetizers Kalbi ribs, pork chops & spicy ahi bowl, all really good This is becoming our new "go to" place. Great food, reasonable prices = a must try place!! read more

My friend took me here for my birthday breakfast. I was going to tease her I wanted to go to ihop instead, but I'm glad I didn't because this was delicious. Ample seating if you come early aa there's a front patio on the street, interior dining and an outside back patio too. A little pricey, but worth it. Fast friendly service and very enjoyable experience other than the fact people are allowed to bring dogs. One couple's dogs were very territorial and probably should have been left at home because it almost started a fight it was so aggressive. That's the only reason I lowered the stars. It made it very uncomfortable and for the safety of the other customers, the first time the dog acted up they should have been removed. Too dangerous. Otherwise, very nice experience with the other better trained dogs and the heat lamps were nice too. The food is ample and delicious. I don't know what else to say. No wonder it's my friend's favorite. read more

I'll give 4 stars here because my mac nut pancakes were quite delicious. We were not planning to eat here but the restaurant next door had a crazy long wait and this place had open tables and we were hungry so we ended up here. Service was slow (I noticed they had a hiring sign out so maybe that's why). Our orders were accurate. As I mentioned, mac nut pancakes were great. Breakfast potatoes were also delicious. My friend got some kind of Benedict and said it was great also. Overall, good food, no wait for a table. Good atmosphere. Service just kinda slow. read more
