The Double Char is far superior to the other options out there, from CJ's to InO and even McD's, they got nuttin on this! The pure size of the burger is of awe compared to the other guys so you know your getting your money's worth. The char on the burger gives it that flavor you've been missing from other burgers. Then the grilled onions... chefs kiss! The fresh lettuce crunch and the cut of tomato completes this holy grail. This goes for whoever was on staff Wednesday, October 22 around 7:30 PM. The Habit has moved to the fully self service kiosk model. I do not really love ordering my own food when I am dining in, but it is becoming an industry standard so I can live with it. The frustrating part is that the kiosk asks for a tip before you have even received any service. I still tipped + because that is the expectation + and my order was about $38 for two burgers, a shake, and the half and half fries and onion rings. So we are already at three or four times the cost of In N Out. While waiting, I went over to the condiment station and it was basically empty except for a few banana peppers. When my food came out there was just one ranch in the bag. For a $38 order. I asked politely for another ranch and was told that anything beyond one is considered extra. I mentioned that I had already tipped well, and the employee just grabbed the ranch, tossed it into the bag, and never even acknowledged me. No "you are good," no response at all. Just silence and a cold shoulder. If the price is this high and the tip is requested before I even know what the service is like, then the single moment of human interaction should not feel like I am bothering someone for asking for a second condiment. Not the experience I expected, and not one that encourages a return visit. The food was good as usual, but we need to get back into the "habit" of tipping only if the service is rendered in a way that deserves a tip. I am extremely disappointed that I tipped them. Shredded lettuce that goes on the burger rather than romaine, and in a significantly smaller portion than normal, still full price. On top of this, I chose curbside pickup which should be an express pickup option...proceeded to get there and waited 10-15 minutes. Finally got out of the car and went inside, asked the person for my order, and they couldn't find it, then proceeded to find it on the counter directly in front of them that's been sitting there for 15 minutes. If an item is not available or short, don't sell it. Looks like there wasn't much care that went into it and got staff treating me like an inconvenience when I come in to ask for my order. The Habit use to rock, I went there after about 6mo from the last time, I order the usual Cobb Salad and my daughter, a Cheese Burger and Fries. The Cobb Salad was now 1/2 the size and 1/2 the toppings (no blue cheese crumbles and a lame spring mix, no more ice burg), the burger looked the same but the fries were 1/2 the size and all of this with no price decrease, in fact there was a slight increase. I was given one container of dressing, I usually ask for another and my daughter likes one for her fries....now they are $1 for any extra...I tilted my head and the lady said they "always" charged extra for dressing....not sure how long she considered "always" but 6mo ago and from at least 5 years prior, there was never a charge. Highly disappointed, to the Habit, this happened to Chipotle until the CEO stepped in after months of losses and increased their portions. For now, Habit I/we will never be going back. I am not sure where to begin. I have had bad luck here a couple times, but this was the worst of them all. I don't post reviews often but people should know about this... Our dinner was beyond disgusting, not to mention incomplete. 1. Food was cold from sitting on the counter. when we went to pick it up they stated it wasn't ready but low and behold it was ready sitting on the counter cooling itself down 2. We checked the bag and didn't see the chicken nuggets. We inquired only to have the employee state "I put them in there myself, but fine I will make another" 3. Got home and sure enough the nuggets were not in there. Neither was a large fry or our onion rings 4. The bacon burger was DISGUSTING! It was sitting and soaking in leaking bbq sauce (see picture below) and the bread was soaked wet through 5. The tuna sandwich - same thing. There was a ton of fish juice in the box and the bread was soaking wet. It was so gross. 6. Char burger with Cheese - I was convinced it was kids size but turns out that, according to the employee is "the size they (Habit) sends to them and they can't do anything about it" 6. Tried to call about it but you can't reach the restaurant, so I had to get back in the car and take everything back to the restaurant 7. My choices were to have it remade or get a refund. Only after the employee was appearing put out and not very accommodating. Once I asked him if he would eat it or serve it to his own family - he said no. 8. I actually made the mistake of choosing the remake. It was almost 8 pm and had little kids starving for dinner on a school night so I didn't have many choices. Got it home and was disgusting so ended up putting most of it in the trash. I emailed all of this to Customer Service. They emailed me back giving me "char bucks" for 3 burgers. Are you kidding me? $75 down the drain. If I even got 1/2 money back it would've been better than 3 char burgers. The service at this location isn't terrible. It was at one point in time. Atmosphere Has been fine as well. This is the second time I've been here in the last month. First problem is, they must be understaffed. Almost every table was dirty and I could see food on the floor in multiple areas. The worker printed out a few tickets for phone/online orders. And I noticed french fries and onion rings sitting up at the counter. 15 minutes go by and there is about 10 hamburgers sitting up on the counter. I've been to a a couple of Habits, and I thought the food was okay. My visit to the CM location on Adams & Harbor didn't change my mind. They offer burgers, sandwiches and salads. I had the ahi tuna burger ($8.69) and superfood salad ($9.69). We also shared fries, rings and fried green beans (not pictured). The ahi was a big portion, but it had no taste. I've had Habit's burgers before and thought they paled in comparison vs In-N-Out. On the other hand, the salad was very good. It had a lot of fresh ingredients and the portion was large. Lastly, the fries & rings were okay, but the green beans are a nice change of pace. The food was ordered online and picked up curbside. It was a little late vs requested. Although the Habit is not known for salads, I'd return for the superfood salad. However, IMHO their burgers & sandwiches are mediocre. read more
