I've been coming to this location since it opened, and unfortunately the service has gone downhill. Mistakes on orders have become common, and lately the manager on duty has been consistently rude and unwilling to accommodate even simple requests. For years, I've been able to order the shredded beef taco combo and substitute the drink for a small guacamole. Every manager before has allowed it without issue. Recently, whenever this manager is working, she refuses the substitution, even if an employee already approved it. I don't drink sugary drinks, so forcing a drink I won't use makes no sense, especially when past managers were flexible. Her approach feels dismissive and unprofessional, and it's disappointing to see customer service handled this way. I hope ownership takes a look at what's happening here, because this used to be one of my favorite spots, and I'd love to see it return to the level of service it once had. read more

Have been a loyal customer for many years now but have noticed the quality of food at this location going steadily downhill, especially this year. Our order included an enchilada combo plate with barely any chicken wrapped in the tortillas. Beans were so watery they needed a spoon! Tasteless, too. Rice was okay. But wait: there's more! Though we have spoken up about the minimal amount of meat put on their salads, this weekend was the last straw: care asada salad was virtually nothing but chunky, pale yellow iceberg lettuce, microscopic flecks of tomato, perhaps a tsp of shredded cheese and (we measured), 2 tablespoons of carne asada. We told the drive thru of how little meat was in our salads the LAST visit -- but no change this time. For the same price I can go to Cava and get an amazing salad! I stopped by this Miguel Jr's a few times a month and they usually have top-notch service at the drive-through. Today I go through in a new person is there and they asked you how many sauces would you like and when you tell them they don't provide it why would they even ask them? It is aggravating, especially you shouldn't have to check your bag once they ask you. Now every time I visit I will have to ensure that they give me the hot sauce. What makes this place so special is that it offers genuinely authentic Mexican food in a fast-food type setting. The drive-thru is super quick and really easy to access on the busy street. First and foremost, the service is the best in the area. They asked how many salsas I would like and told me that I can do as many as I want. I said "six" and they said "no problem". That alone is worth 5 stars! You can tell the employees are really happy to be there. It's a very comforting experience. The food is really good. I had the bean & cheese burrito. The first thing you notice is how high quality the Yellow Cheddar is. The flavor is rich, bright, and salty/sweet. Every bite gets better and better. I'm so glad there are a few Miguel's Jr. locations in OC. My usual order is the shredded beef taco along with the rice and beans, but I love their Pozole too. My co-workers always get their burritos. I tried the horchata for the first time today and it's really good! I'll have to get that every time now! And they have a new churro dessert that I had actually suggested they add to their menu a few years ago, and they finally have! If you sign up online, or follow them on social media, you'll get all the special offers and deals, like today they are celebrating reaching 20k followers, so only today you can get 20% off your bill by showing them the email offer. Chain restaurants get bad name but not this place. I've gone to more than 1 Miguel's jr and this location is by far my favorite. Cleanliness is a big thing for me especially when eating at a restaurant. And this place is always so tidy so a big win. The service is always so good. Never have an issue with getting my order. I'm giving this restaurant a four because I've had some of their other entrées and have enjoyed them more. Their menu is very extensive and I think if I stay away from the breakfast burrito, I will be fine. But this morning, I had their breakfast burrito (the Sunrise) and it's not something I'll have again. Not that anything was seriously wrong, but I wasn't happy with the way the potatoes were cooked, just being soggy more than crunchy. The bacon really didn't overwhelm me either, and it was a lot of fat and grizzle which is slightly expected. But they ended up putting in strips of bacon - as opposed to chopping it up and it didn't blend well with the rest of the ingredients. If you're looking for an awesome breakfast burrito, try Cali Tacos in Santa Ana or Orange. Their hot red sauce is just perfect. Not too hot and seasoned perfectly. It was excellent on the burrito. Like I said, I will be back. Their selection of burritos is pretty good and I really would like to try the wet burrito with the extra sauce and cheese on top. Next time. The service was great. Shredded beef flavor is like no other. So juicy and delicious and had been for the 20+ years I've been going to MIguel's all over SoCal. I alwayes get the original burrito but switched it up to Taco / Enchilada combo ($12.38). Beans great, rice just ok. Taco was filled with shredded beef, cheese, lettuce and hot corn tortilla. Enchilada was good as well. My favorite is still the burrito. Chile Verde ($12.49) was very good, not fatty, just quality meat, potatoes and green sauce. The sauce they use for salsa is very runny so don't expect much although it has good flavor. read more

I went to get my usual order and this time I am just completely annoyed and I have never once complained or said anything to management. As you can see I'd much rather leave a good review but tonight changed that. I always order the chicken tacos with sour cream and extra cheese and there have been several times when the extra cheese was not added. If I have to pay extra for something I expect it to be added. Tonight I got my tacos and they were so soggy and they looked like there was extra sour cream but not the extra cheese once again. I have tried to be nice about it and even asked at the window if they could please ensure they put extra cheese because there are times that they don't but as you can see in my photo the sour cream was excessive and all over the paper. Again I have never complained or taken anything back but I called to speak with the manager this time and she said she was the one who made them and that made it worse. She didn't seem to care that they were a soggy mess. Very disappointed especially because I have been going there for quite some time now. I think it's time to spend my money elsewhere and especially because of the way the manager acted in regard to how bothered I was. She could care less and never once offered to rectify it. If I wasn't so frustrated and tired from a long day at work I would have driven back to return them. I've been coming to Miguel's for a few years, they have good chicken taquitos, good horchata drink and the bean and cheese are not the best but eatable. I was disappointed to know they will not have pozole until January, it's cold now and well after the holidays, what's the point? Their decision... but what I'm really on here for is the tamale I tried today. Since they didn't have pozole, figured I would try their new item, cheese tamales. First of all the price is outrageous. Never in my life have I paid $5 for a tamale! Especially being the size it was, pictures included in my review. The taste was OK and could have used more cheese because most what I tasted was the green chile. $15 more and I could have gotten a dozen elsewhere! So this will be the first and last time I try their tamales, the price should actually be somewhere around $2-$2.50, honest, please consider @Miguels Jr. because I don't think much people are willing to pay what you are asking. If they do, good for them, they can afford it. I gave 3 stars, well because the food I mentioned at start keeps me coming back. This place is pricey and I don't come too often anyways. I ordered the new bowl they are advertising and requested no sour cream, and they put sour cream. But I asked before we left and they fixed it. The guy at the window handed us two small drinks. And I look up to see there drink cups and see the large cups right there. I ask if these are large drinks and they were not, so then they corrected that. I get home to see the contents of this loaded potato bowl and it is so small with virtually no ingredients. This bowl is not loaded with anything. I generally only like to leave good reviews, but I went through this restaurant and ordered shredded beef taquitos, and it was hard to understand the lady because she was laughing the whole time. When I pulled up to the window, she said here's your chicken taquitos but I told her I ordered beef. She told me she said chicken three times but I never heard the word chicken or Pollo or anything like that. She must've been confused with someone else. She was angry and told the chef to make beef and then gave me my food that doesn't look like it normally does and told me it would cost more. I basically just wanted to take the chicken and leave and not come back, but she took the chicken back and swapped it and handed it to me without saying anything. This is my go to spot for past Mexican food. It's not only fast but it's homemade they can really put a lot of care and time into the food that they serve beyond that the restaurant is absolutely immaculately clean like you could eat off the floor. I don't care what time of the day you go in. It is always looking good. I am here right now at 9:30 at night and the employees are very happy and the restaurant is so clean. I'm writing a review very disappointed in the staff you have working for you so I had a situation in the past where I came through the drive through. I got a bean and cheese burrito and chips with guacamole. The small order when I got home the chips were stale, and there were hardly any chips in the bag. I called and I spoke to a Francisco, which is what I recall his name being. So this evening, I decided to go back through and get a burrito because I really like the burritos and I let the people know when I was ordering my food about the chips and guacamole being no charge this time. I was like blown off and told oh just come to the front. So when I got to the front, I specifically had told them when I went through the drive-through that my name was on Supposedly on a board or in a book or per Francisco, and the girl gave me such an attitude she was so rude! . She seemed like she went to look and then she comes back and says are you sure because I don't see your name anywhere and we don't have a Francisco that works here. I'm almost positive that what his name,anyway she was so rude. I said I know that I talked to somebody. I believe his name was Francisco and he was going to put my name in a book I said if it's going to be a problem, I'm going to call corporate because she had an attitude and then all of a sudden she comes back to the window and said I owed $5 and some change and was totally rude as she gives me my order as I leave. Totally unacceptable the way she acted shame on her! I didn't get her name. I will attach a picture here of my order so you can see the timeframe that I was there and know the staff that was working at that time anyways I'm not looking for any free handouts. I normally visit the location in Tustin but this was the closest location to where we were. I ordered the chile relleno stuffed burrito. It was absolutely delicious and one of the best burritos I have ever had. It had the perfect amount of food. Their unsweetened black tea was very delicious ad well. The drive thru wad efficient which is a plus especially if you are in a rush. If you are in the area and are craving good Mexican food this is the place for you. Hello!! It's been so long since I wrote my last review, i've been in the hospitals. I have also picked up a new hobby - squishing bugs with my bare feet. Feels great!! 10/10 can't recommend enough!! Placed a catering order. Called the morning of the event to confirm the order. They repeated my order when I called and confirmed pick up time. When we went to pick up the order they said they didn't have it. We had to wait for it to be made and held up our event. I ordered the 24 taco pack, which says it comes with beans and rice right on the catering menu. They charged me $33 each for a side of beans and rice. Very disappointed. read more
