Tiny SALTY Chile Relleno... do not order
    Valerie W.

Unfortunately for me, Senior Villa is less than mediocre. After spending $35 for a delivery meal, I knew I was in trouble when the more recent Yelp ratings were sub-par. Surprisingly, the ratings on the delivery app were high...don't trust it. Side chili relleno- for $5.50 it was like tiny street taco sized...but not taco flavorful. The only flavor it had was pure salt. It was inedible. Fajita chicken burrito also sub-par. Added grilled veggies and they were hardly cooked. Raw mushrooms and peppers were not enjoyable. Also lacked flavor. Their salsa was OK. I would not eat here again.

    Queso tamale

Yum. Yummy. Yummmmers!! A neighbor recommended this place so when I was in the neighborhood I put in an order! I'm so glad I did - this family owned restaurant makes some really delicious and authentic mexican food. I loved that the tamale I ordered came with toppings and I didn't have to deal with the corn husk. The camarones a la diabla were pretty spicy despite indicating I wanted the mild option - but it didn't detract from the overall flavor of the dish. The beans and rice were so savory I ate every bite (normally I don't care for these sides!) This is telling. If I had one complaint it is that I wish their entrance wasn't facing the busy street as it is a long walk from the parking lot to the front side of the business. I was impressed to see all three of their kids sitting at separate tables all tending to themselves and not racing around or causing any trouble. I will definitely order takeout from them again the next time I'm craving Mexican food!

    canned chunk chicken???

Wow!! super sad that this little spot went down hill after the new owners?? I have the question marks due to the fact that I am not sure the date that this all changed. I believe that when they did some painting about a year ago and I noticed the name Rosie's over the door. That is when it changed- my friend and I would go really often and that evening was terrible but totally thought a fluke for sure. We loved this little charmer and now the food is awful. We had street tacos and a tamale...very disappointed. I'm loading up the pic's (I never take the time to do this but the tamale actually had canned chicken in it. When we got home, (this was take out) -it looked good when we opened it. Tamale did look really thick, but gurl, it was awful! After they took a bite; simultaneously- all said, it's terribly salty and there are cubes of stuff in it!! It's canned chicken! The street tacos were dry as the desert- but I will say the flavor was.....good-ish. Not the best, but good. Also the lime they gave us was actually rotten. not just one brown spot, but truly rotten, and no juice. So sad, will never go again- money doesn't grow on trees- You know the post, "if I could give it less than 1 star". I feel bad but the woman working was slamming things around. Maybe had a really bad day or wanted to get out of there for the fireworks. It's the 4th after all. yikes!! And I forgot to mention the piece of paper small in the photo. Looks like maybe, from a veggie tie- you know; wraps around cilantro, or veggies and has wire in it . They were good before , and maybe they can get it together and make it a better experience in the future.

Enchilada Verde with whole beans and rice!
    Scott B.

I've eaten here several times, and every time the food is really fresh. I like the consistant quality, always know I'm going to enjoy the meal. Both soft and hard tacos are available. Nothing is overcooked! My Enchilada Verdes today (see pic) are perfect! And I especially like the whole beans with rice. The chips are crispy and the salsa is delicious. The restaurant is clean, and the decor is festive. It looks like a small place from the outside but there are 14 tables, plenty of room (and parking). ...and plenty of beer, wine and spirits! ... there is usually just one waitress "Diana", and she is very up-beat and professional... service is excellent.

One of our neighbors recommended this place for good mexican food, and we are so happy to have found it. Its a small unassuming place, but the food is all made from fresh from scratch. We started with Chicken Taquito. It was so good, fresh tortilla, the chicken filling tasty, and the guacamole fresh. I would highly recommend it. We the got Chicken Flautas, and Mojarra Frita. We loved both of our entrees. The Chicken Flautas were were so good, fresh tortilla's, delicious chicken, and fresh, guacamole again. The flautas are good, but very similar to chicken taquito we had. They are both good, but I would not recommend getting them both at the same meal. Mojarra frita is something I haven't seen at any of the other mexican restaurants. A whole fish deep fried and served with rice and beans. So good. We finished our meal with Flan. Again so delicious, such a great end to our meal.

We've driven by a hundred times, and today's the day we stopped in. It was right before 5:00 on a Tuesday and not another patron in sight. We were pressed for time, so didn't scour the menu too much and ordered one of our favorites - chorizo con huevos (chorizo with eggs). It was standard fare. Nothing snazzy but definitely met expectations. Another couple did come in as we were leaving and they ordered Grande margaritas. They were indeed HUGE!

Small parking lot in behind the building and there's a pool table in the back corner of the bar. It's a nice local bar but you also feel that "see a new face, give a stink face" service that I'm noticing Seattle local bars/restaurants do a lot. The food is mediocre to disgusting. It is made by the bartender (which we wish we knew beforehand). Just from that knowledge, you already picture a certain quality of food. It was actually worst than we thought it'd be. We ordered drinks, Mac n cheese, hot dog & chips, and their special homemade recipe of Swedish meatballs. We were excited to taste all of it and were super hungry. Skip the meatballs, it tasted worst than Walmart brand meatballs. It had an obvious cardboard and processed texture and taste. They tried to mask it with mash potatoes but the quality of the mash potatoes couldn't be hidden. The only thing that saves the meal throughout was the garlic bread. If you're lit, the food won't matter but you'll definitely feel it on the toilet later. The hot dog and chips came 10mins after the rest of the food came and that was kinda lame. It was the fasted thing to make but still had to wait for awhile for a simple dish. Plus it was just potato chips, not fries so what's taking so long.

And worse they served it warm. I would order it again though. So somebody should have put the fries in sooner. Happened to be sitting across from the open kitchen where the food was going out and hats off to their tempura batter fish and chips! The portions and presentation we're well above average they were really attractive looking plates. The bartender absolutely nailed my Spanish coffee and even gave me tequila choice! It was perfect. It took a little while on the bread pudding so I ordered another Spanish coffee, now she's driving. The banana bread pudding was exceptionally good in every way! Saw some big, juicy sliders going by, she wanted to order them next time and I agreed. Overall, I would definitely go back again. And I'm not even a sports fan unfortunately. We walked in as a party of 2 on a Thursday around 9pm and it was not too busy - probably half the bar was occupied. We opted to sit at one end of the bar because the bar seats are where the vibes are at. The place is decorated in a fairly elegant and old school manner, so you are somewhat transported away from the outside reality. We got the Tobe's Thique Mint and Garden Party. I loved the creaminess and cinnamon afternotes of Tobe's Thique Mint, and it also looks somewhat pretty. It is quite a heavy drink, so one was enough to fill me up. The Garden Party was a bit of a miss since as much as I tasted the orange and grapefruit, it was a very light drink and tasted a little watered down. The biggest plus is that the drinks are fairly affordable compared to the greater Seattle area, priced at $14. I liked how their menu says 14 for $14, as they have just 14 cocktails to choose from and the drinks seem to rotate seasonally. For us, we went just in time to still have the spring menu, but they will change to the summer menu on June 20.

They sell drinks, they have tvs, outdoor ping pong, indoor pool tables. Bartenders were polite and served me with no issue. So, plus: dependable spot that serves alcohol. There's also a smoking area on the outside patio for those who do that. I see people calling this a dive. Maybe because this part of Seattle is becoming gentrified, Teddys is seen as a dive, but no, I don't' think its a dive at all. I think its an aging sports bar in a neighborhood that has high rise condos being propped up left and right. In some respects, that might be part of its charm. It's a throwback to what normal neighborhood sports bars were like in Seattle. But it's aging, and I don't think the employees are keeping things polished like they once did. That doesn't mean its a dive though. My times in Seattle visiting this bar were in August. Maybe their is a busier time of year, but I found the bar to be really sleepy and not much going on. I somewhat judge a bar on the kind of people I meet and talk to, but I really never found like minded folks or interesting topics here. I think this is a fine bar for grabbing a drink, especially if you don't feel like 'going out', but I wouldn't go out of my way to spend an evening here.
