This is by far the best pizza around Columbus. The NY style crust is fantastic. If you like pickles try the dilly pizza.

The hype is real. I had Sexton's before the Portnoy One Bite review and knew it was good freaking pizza. It's just a bit away from us so we don't make it over there frequently but when my wife had an event in Hilliard, I decided to wait for her at Sexton's and grab some pizza. Still knocking it out of the park. The service is SO so friendly and they are great people AND they make some great pies. Sexton's is up there and needs to be mentioned up there with some of the other top spots in Columbus and Ohio. I would put their pizza up against any. They use quality ingredients and the dough and cooking of the pizza is just fantastic. If you have not been, I highly recommend putting in an order or stopping in for a pizza. Just make sure they have enough pizza for you to eat. Due to the high Portnoy rating (deservedly so obviously), they are selling out often. It seems like they make more and more dough and still continue to sell out. The hype is real though and I had no issues going in on a weeknight and getting a pie. I've been crushed that Sexton is no longer open for lunch. I crave it all the time but am never nearby during their hours of business. Given that I don't live close I was excited to celebrate my birthday dinner here. After much deliberation we ordered the Mikes and All about Cheezus. I have had a very over cooked pizza at their Gahanna location so I showed the server a picture of my ideal doneness so that I could enjoy my birthday treat. I was beyond pleased when they came out with these two perfectly cooked pies! Cooked through, browned, cheesy, and tasted like Heaven. I do wish they'd chiffonade the basil so you get some in each bite of pizza though. As a very satisfied customer and huge supporter of your product I beg you to open back up for lunch so I can stop in more often and brag about how great you are. Unfortunately overhyped. I don't think this was near worth the $32+ I paid for a 3 topping pizza. Ordered extra cheese and it didn't seem like anything more than a normal amount. Cut awkwardly too. It was fine. Despite the pictures on this Yelp page, there are no sides, salads, appetizers or drinks, at least not able to be ordered ahead. They also charge $1.25 for a single side of ranch, which they forgot to include with my order. Nothing special and won't be going back. I hate so much to give a poor review or make anyone feel bad. I just want to get what I pay for and be able to support local businesses genuinely. I've heard great things about Sexton's pizza, so I stopped by to give it a try. The place was busy and there was no staff in sight to greet me and help me get on a waiting list or order a pizza. There was no available table, no comfortable waiting area, and no way of knowing the planned logistical flow, and all the while I feel like I'm intruding in diners' personal space. Three times I have to step out of the way of other people moving through the area. I eventually just left. The pizza may be amazing but their customer service is non-existent. read more

The food was pretty good. We got a sausage, onion, and basil pizza. They didn't put on the basil and they were pretty light on the onions for $3.50. The sausage was sliced like pepperoni which was different. I like a crumble personally but the flavor was good. The crust on the NY style crust is really great. Thin, but still crispy. Best pizza! We first tried sextons last year and cannot get enough of it! The ambiance is fun and lively and the service was great. Me and my husband moved to Columbus in 2021 from the land of pizza (chicago ) and not only is it our favorite kind of pizza but it's my in laws favorite pizza as well. Ordered a pizza late on a Tuesday evening and upon arriving, the lights were off & the doors were locked. (It was my fault as I missed the pickup window versus when they closed.) The place has a wait staff but no host/hostess so it's a free for all to get a table. There's also no place to wait for a table, so you just kinda hover over people. The appetizers aren't very good - garlic boneless wings meant chicken strips with a packaged cup of garlic butter (like you get at Papa Johns). The pizza was pretty good. The pizza is quite good, nice crispy crust (yes it may look a tad burnt but it's meant to be that way, it adds flavor/texture), nice selection of specialty pizza. Had garlic tater tots, they were pretty standard bar food tots. Not overpriced by todays standards in my opinion (with the exception of $1.25 for a small side of ranch, ouch). Our server was attentive. The location is nice, but they could definitely benefit from stepping up to actual plates/silverware/glasses. All the plastic is pretty wasteful and downgrades the atmosphere. Even if they didn't want to deal with washing dishes, that's cool, but the napkins and silverware are cheap and make eating a messy experience. They could benefit from investing in something a little higher quality. Will get their food again for sure, but probably won't dine in. read more

Place is way over priced, way overrated and very average pizza. I live in Hilliard and I can, blind folded, throw a dart at 10-15 better pizza options. Look else where. Have had very terrible experience with their service and wait time. Oh, and if you do get this average pizza, plan on cutting it yourself. Despite my rating, Sexton's is absolutely my most favorite pizza in the city especially their thick crust. Overall, the pizza is amazing! The three stars is because they often run out of dough and I mean OFTEN and it's super annoying and if you ask why they don't have any dough they typically respond in a very rude and disrespectful manner. I went there at 6:30pm (They close at 9) on a Saturday with intentions to get pizza with date. They said they ran out of dough but any of their fried items were still available lol. I asked "really?" about the absent of dough and the lady behind the bar gave me an incredbly snarky and dismissive response. Again, you're a pizza shop. How the hell do you run out of dough? Under staffed. We tried it once over the summer and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food but they had only one server. They were great about it and gave us a gift card to make up for the wait. Very nice. However, we went back on a Saturday and were not greeted. We waited about 10 minutes and saw someone else at the bar, also looking for a server. He approached a young lady and asked if anyone was working there today and she said yes, she was, and when he said he'd been waiting for 15 minutes, she asked if he was going to leave!! I've never done dine-in at this location but have gotten carry-out several times. Hands down the best pizza in Hilliard. Highly recommend.

When we walked in, there were a couple of people at the bar and no one at any of the tables. The server approached and took our drink orders and said she'd be back for our food orders. We watched another server take other tables' drink orders, then their food orders, and then bring them their food but we still sat and waited for our server to come back and take our order. She was working at the bar and could see our table from there but never looked over, despite us trying repeatedly to make eye contact. Finally, after 35 minutes without her coming back to our table to take our order, we went up to the bar to place it. There was no apology or acknowledgement for the wait. We waited another 35 minutes for our food to arrive. The salad was a bit underwhelming but the pizza was delicious. We ordered the Kevin Bacon and really enjoyed it. But after some of the worst service we've experienced, I'd be hesitant to try it again. read more

Look after living in multiple states where there are 15 solid pizza options to coming back to Columbus Ohio to visit family for a few months. I'll say hands down Sextons has the best pizza in central Columbus. Yes I've tried them all, pizza is my thing and Im a connoisseur. Most of the pizza in Columbus is mediocre at best. Been to Sextons on multiple visits and have tried most of the pies. Have dined in have picked up and have used Uber eats for delivery. Pizza is best fresh there, commons sense. It does travel well for pick up and delivery. Round and square both slap in different ways and some pies are better square than circle. Service has been hit or miss but it's a pizza shop. The service is legit for the type of establishment and there are some really awesome employees. I don't care that Dave Portnoy came here. I've been to many places he's scored high where I wasn't a fan. That said he was on point here and we agree. Best pizza in Hilliard, best pizza in central Columbus. Will be back again. read more

Our son heard about this place on a podcast. I'm always skeptical about hyped places. But this is the real deal. The pizza is delicious and you can order a variety of crusts and styles - Detroit, New York, Nashville, ect. You can travel the country thru your pizza. Pizza is really great, I have no complaints when it comes to that.. however, the cheese sticks "appetizer" really left me feeling disappointed. First off, if I'm ordering an appetizer for my family then it better be enough food to feed us all, especially for nearly $10. I was charged $8 for 4 tiny cheese sticks, what I consider to be enough to comfortably feed 1-2 people. Technically a side.
