On a whim, we decided to go to dinner at 6pm on a Friday. So a quick search on Yelp and we came across Gallo on High. Called and reserved a spot for a party of four at 6:15. The restaurant is quite cozy. Great place for a date. Its dimly lit, which adds to its charm....but this did prove to be a challenge for some of my family as they couldnt read the menu. Lol. Our server, Georgie was quite good at her job. We wanted for nothing. She anticipated everything with perfect timing. We ordered a meatball appetizer. That comes with two nice sized meatballs and two pieces of toasted focaccia. Perfect size for sharing with four people. Husband ordered a Caesar Chicken Salad. It was a good sized. He seemed to like it. He would get it again. My son got the bolognese. That was a lot of food! This was a traditional Italian gravy bolognese, meaning it was a red sauce with very heavy meat. It looked delicious. He said multiple times it had great flavor. He really liked it, would get it again. My mother who usually orders their chicken piccata changed it up and ordered the margarita pizza. That she would not get that again. It was good but...There was a lot of sauce and the middle of the pizza got floppy from the sauce, so it was hard to eat. I tasted a slice and I found crust thoroughly cooked, but agreed, the middle did flop... I also feel it was from a bit too much sauce in the middle, too. Tip: if getting pizza you can ask for light sauce, or for it to be well done... that will avoid this issue. I ordered the white lace salad with blackened shrimp. Omg - YUM. The dressing was perfect, nice and light. The salad comes with this large lacey fried. Shrimp on this is a good size. The tails are left on... I will never understand why 80% of restaurants do that. Especially with blackened shrimp or BBQ shrimp. Who wants messy hands??? However the shrimp was delicious. It was one of the better blackened seasonings I have had recently. There was a really cool parmesan disk on top of the salad. Nice touch. Every bit was delicious. Would order that again. All four entrees and two cocktails came to about $115. The pizza was perfect - - 12 inch pepperoni, half sausage. The crust is sturdy and more New York style. The fried provolone appetizer was excellent also. Big round pieces with a nice marinara. Went into the newest location, a week ago. The place was very busy considering we were getting there about 5:30 on a Friday night. They said the wait would be about 25 minutes, but it didn't take that long and we were seated. Started with the fried provolone, and a side ceaser salad. The fried provolone was perfectly creamy fried perfectly it's a house made Provolone with a Italian salsa that hit just right. The salad was a good portion for a side salad and the house made dressing and croutons nice touch to the salad.Then onto the the meatball hoagie, all meatballs are made in house, and served on a Auddino's roll. If you know anything about Auddino's rolls they can hold up to those large meatballs. Check out the picture I posted outstanding. Lastly was the chicken wings, these could have been more crispier and a little hotter but had big flavor. Great service and very clean bathrooms, can't wait to go back. Park in the rear of this new establishment. The interior is modern and fresh with tall ceilings, a large bar, a modern wine rack and open kitchen. It was truly beautiful! Service was excellent (thank you Lauren!) but the food was better! The menu features appetizers, handhelds, salads, wings and pizza. Lauren described the pizza as NY style. I agree but thought the crust was a tad thicker. Pizza comes in 12" and 18" or by the slice. There was a gluten free crust option, a stuffed crust and a stromboli. I shared a $9 salad with my Mom and a slice of pizza. The salad was HUGE! And the slice was from the 18" pizza so it was a generous piece also. The 3 guys shared the 18" pizza and couldn't finish it. So big! My son had the meatball appetizer. Two large meatballs nestled in a bowl of marinara. Also excellent! We definitely recommend Gallo's Pizza & Bar and will return! read more

They "fucked up" and gave me a grilled chicken Caesar- and she called it out and said "if you would like to have it to have something to eat while the kitchen fixes it" and I was down. For being the newest Gallo's Pizza and Bar establishment, I had to see what the buzz is about. Felicia, our server started out asking what we wanted to drink fifteen minutes after sitting. We had drinks from the bar already almost empty but we were hungry. Our other guests were ready to get service and for some strange reason they received their salads first. My wife and I finally got our wings twenty minutes after the salads. This wasn't the highlight of our evening, we began to eat the extra hard crispy wings smothered in sauce while our guests were completely finished. They were the worst wings ever! I took them home to inspect and throw away. My wife spilled her wine at the smallest tables I've seen for four people, she was wearing white clothes but when we left there they were red. As we paid our check, Felicia told my wife the wine would be charged to the other couple because she felt she shouldn't have to pay for her wine she spilled. Because my wife's clothes were dripping in red wine, she didn't care to argue. We used Venmo to pay our guests who were unaware of this error. Felicia did not mention of the check charge. I'd give fire stars for the female bartender's exceptional service but give one star and service one star. I wish Tommy would keep an eye on this place because it needs it. read more

So excited to have Gallo's so close to home. The inside boast and open kitchen and spacious bar. Open and light the place is very inviting. We had salad and pizza for dinner. My arugula salad was outstanding!! The dressing was light and just a touch spicy. The addition of the crushed pistachios added just the right crunch. My husband had Dublin and said it was super filling. For $9 it would be a great salad with added protein. Mt. Vesuvio was the pizza we tried. Delicious!! The crust was amazing. Cheese oh cheese!! I've had my eye on Gallo's pizza for a while. I was looking for someplace different last night and drove by and had to stop in. Several patrons inside so I knew it had to be good. I chose a spot right inside the door at the bar which was open. Was greeted immediately by the friendly staff. They made some suggestions on both drinks and food. Ended up choosing a half Dublin salad along with tent of their wings with dry rub. There's several different flavors of wings to pick from. Even though it's a pizza place I was looking more for wingsand they were very good. I enjoyed the feel inside. Even though there are a lot of TVs with different sports happening, it was still a relaxing environment, and not too loud. I would definitely come back. read more

The bartender was very kind, willing to help and answer questions. The draft list had a lot of variety. I went with the Jackie O's sea foam IPA, delicious. Went here on a Sunday night around 5p, so not busy at all. The bartender waited on me until my party arrived & then waited on us the rest of the time. Friendly & available without hovering. My date had a Caesar salad & I had the Stromboli. Both were good size & taste great. Prices were reasonable, too. The dining room is good size, quiet when I was there & done well. Sunday evening dinner (7pm ish) My only issue was the 2.7% credit card surcharge! I hate this. Especially when there isn't any communication or signage about being charged to use my cc. It was only $1.32 - petty, I know. But, these charges add up overtime. Pissed me off. I would rather a business bury the cc fee in my food and drink then charge me separately. This is, in my opinion, the cost of doing business and customers shouldn't be charged separately for the convenience of using their cc. read more

So glad we decided to give this place a try, the pizza was delish. Again not authentic NY pizza but delicious all the same. We got a large half cheese half pep and definitely no complaints. We also decided to try the chicken wings and even though my first set came with sauce when I asked for sauce on the side, they replaced them and they tasted great. The fried calamari was also very good, nice and crunchy and the kids loved it. The salmon cakes were a bit dry and probably not something I would order again. It's a sports bar vibe, giant TVs everywhere, decent selection of cocktails and beers and our server was super sweet. My wife and I met a friend at Gallo's for lunch on a Wednesday. The place was half-full, busy but not crazy. We were seated quicky and the place is nicely appointed and clean - to be fair it is brand new. Since this place was new to us, we ordered the holy trinity of pizza shop food. My wife went with a stromboli, our friend ordered a meatball sub, and I chose a 12" pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. Our drinks arrived quickly, but our food did not. Not only did it take longer than it should have considering the manageable crowd size, everything apparently sat under the lights waiting for delivery for some time. My wife's strombili was barely warm. It came with two toppings, but she only wanted olives. One would think that meant double the olives, but it barely had any. It was basically a big dough ball with cold cheese and a few olives here and there. And I know it's kind of a thing, but I simply do not understand why anyone would serve a stromboli with ice cold side sauce. My friend liked his sub, but also agreed that the food was not hot enough, including his lukewarm fries. My pizza was the same; warm, but not hot. As for the pie, it was fine...not bad, but nothing special either. It was cold and the cheese was solid before I was half finished, so I just boxed it up. I'm not sure we'll go back again. read more

Tonight was my second visit and I ordered carryout. While the stromboli had great flavor, it was put in a plastic to-go container causing it to steam and get soggy by the time I got home. If the procedure for this item isn't changed, I will ask for a pizza box next time. The first time we ate at the bar. My wife and I had dinner with another couple at Gallo's Pizza and Bar on Saturday, October 26 with a 6:00 p.m. arrival time. The best word to describe the experience is 'disappointing'. I've eaten at other Gallo-owned restaurants including Gallo's Tap Room, Gallo's on High and Gallo's Kitchen and Bar. While the latter three locations provided excellent food and service, their Pizza and Bar restaurant on Franz Rd, in Dublin leaves a lot to be desired. The restaurant itself is very nice with lots of TVs and a reasonable noise level where you can carry on with a conversation at a normal tone of voice. The disappointment began with my drink order, a Manhattan. Manhattans are my usual choice regardless of where I dine, so I'm very familiar with portion sizes. To say that the size of the Manhattan I received was 'frugal' would be kind. Cheap, cheap, cheap! As a table, we ordered the Fried Provolone served with marinara sauce, a Caesar salad and ten wings as appetizers. We also ordered two pizzas and a meatball sub as the main course. The Fried Provolone came out by itself without the marinara sauce. We would have asked the server to bring us some if she had bothered to show up at the table before the rest of the food arrived. The provolone itself was tepid. About ten minutes later, the rest of the food arrived all at once - the salad, wings and pizzas. The salad and wings were quite good, although the wings weren't very (heat) hot. The meatball sub and the pizzas were cold, which was surprising since all the food arrived at the same time. The pizza was overpowered with garlic, making the sauce, cheese and toppings almost unintelligible to the taste. Although just about the entire meal was a wash, we didn't send it back because our server didn't check in on us until it was time for the check and we quite honestly didn't feel like waiting for the sub and pizzas to be redone. If the liquor pours weren't so tiny, if the restaurant did a better job of timing the arrival of appetizers, salads and main courses, if the servers were to check in on customers in a timely manner, if the food actually came out hot, and if the chef toned down the garlic, this restaurant could be as good as the others in the Gallo franchise. Not sure we'll go back, but will glady dine at the other Gallo restaurants. read more

When you picked up a slice, the toppings slid off because the crust was so soft and wet. I also had to use 3 napkins to soak the wet off the top of the cheese. This place should be renamed to "I Apologize" A friend and I decided to check this place out because we saw it was new and figured we'd give it a shot. We got there around 5:30/5:45 this evening, early for a dinner crowd and it's a Sunday so there were only a handful of tables there. We were seated quickly, but waited a bit for our server to come by for drinks. This was the first "I apologize..." as someone else beside our server came to take our drink orders because it had been about 5-10 mins since we had sat down and no one came around. Eventually our server came around and took our appetizer order, calamari which came out quickly and hot. Few minutes later our server came walking over to our table sipping on her water to ask us how things were, said it was fine but asked for some more lemons for the calamari. She came back a few mins later with a bunch of lemons balled up in a bar napkin and put it on the table and walked away, could have at least put them on a small plate. Finished the appetizer and then waited about 20 mins to be able to flag someone down to take our entree orders. It was who I suppose was the manager who took our order. My friend doesn't do spicy at all so asked about their Mongolian sauce on their wings, listed as mild but still wanted to ask. The person who took our order said it wasn't spicy at all, more sweet than anything. He got wings, half Mongolian and half Garlic and Herb, I got the Portobello Sandwich. With the place still being fairly empty we got a couple more "I apologize..." remarks for the entrees taking incredibly long. The wings come out, and the Mongolian ones were smothered with jalapeños and seeds. Another "I Apologize..." Half of the wings sent back to get the same sauce sans jalapeños. During the 20 min wait to get 5 new wings cooked, another "I apologize..." for things taking so long. After that things were mostly fine, just difficult to get any attention from our server to get boxes and our check. I know this place is new but they seem very unprepared to operate. I worked as a server for years when I was younger. I was trained to pay attention to my tables - don't bring a personal beverage to your customer's table, take dirty plates and silverware when done, frequently check in on my tables, know when to ask about entrees when a table orders appetizers, etc. Basic stuff. It was surprising for the manager to say something was sweet and not spicy, but also neglect to mention it comes served tossed in a bunch of jalapeños. They need to be better trained how things on the menu taste, are prepared, and are served so they can accurately talk to customers about the food. Appetizer, two entrees, and two beers. Certainly not worth the $70 price tag read more

I recently visited Gallo's and the atmosphere was nice, a sleek modern style. The menu was put together well with daily specials in both food and drink. The food was really good our appetizer was prompt, eye pleasing and tasted delicious. The pizza was just like something from the North-end of Boston, a crisp crust, the right amount of sauce to cheese ratio. One of the best pizzas in Columbus. The service was slow, and it wasn't busy, if it was busy I could understand. Our appetizers came and we didn't have plates ( had to wait to ask) big let down. I was never asked if I wanted another beer with my dinner, refills on soft drinks was only once and no water refills, come on! A lack of attentiveness by the staff. When it came time to pay, they charge a credit card use fee,, wow!! I mean in this day who goes out to dinner and carries and pays in cash, especially when the tab is just under $100. Now mind you if we were asked for more adult beverages, it could have easily been north of $100. Poor taste with the credit card fee, and if you must charge a credit card fee, at lease post it where guest can see it and the service needs to step it up to make up for the additional charge.
