We came with a party of five and wanted to grab a quick lunch before our flight. It was a Monday and they had really good drink and lunch specials. We explained we only had 30 mins, and our waitress Jenn assured us we could get out in time. She did a great job, and pizza and drinks were excellent! We will be back next time we are in town! read more

Wonderful spot. I never had this place before and it looked tasty from a TikTok I saw, so my wife and I headed there. We enjoyed the pepperoni pizza, but the works was very delicious I would recommend that. We got it without mushrooms. Great visit and great vibe. read more

Needed to buy plumbing parts at Home Depot in the Mill Run area Saturday so we stopped for lunch at Grandad's. We were one of the first customers there and chose to sit at the bar. The bartender was quick to give us menus then she didappeared. I know she was the one to bring pizzas from the kitchen out for pickup but I would have liked a little more attention. My husband finally asked her, while she was washing glasses down from us, if their mushrooms were fresh or canned (they are canned which I prefer.) But that question prompted her to ask if we were ready to order? Um yes. Our menus have been closed and our drinks are half gone. We are politely waiting for you. When the pizza arrived it looked fantastic but the crust was chewey and just off. The topping were fantastic we loved the sauce, pepperoni and canned mushrooms. I couldnt put my finger on what was wrong with the crust. It looked golden brown on the bottom but it was just off. My husband ate it and was happy. I was the only one questioning the crust. I think she checked on us once in passing. I know I asked for a refill for my empty glass of water. I set my credit card in front of me, pretty close to me ,- not pushed toward the bar tender. My goal was to signal "check please". She reached over and took the card without saying a word and ran it. Thankfully she gave us the bill with the slip to sign. We were billed correctly. I Signed the slip and we finally left to fix our plumbing issue at home. read more

We didn't love it. This was close to our hotel whi h is why we chose it. The staff were friendly but not overly attentive. The sauce they use here doesn't have any flavor but sweet. I ordered a meatball sub which was on bread that was quite large. There were a total of 4 regular store bought looking meatballs on it and an abundance of the sweet sauce. My husband and son got personal pizzas. My son said his was alright but my husband didn't care for his. It was also absolutely freezing in there. Its 73 degrees out and raining and they had the air con blasting. We wont be returning and don't recommend it. read more

This location is always so attentive and thorough with my takeout orders to take back to work. Always ask if I need plates napkins and cutlery. This time I got Stromboli because where I am from, pizza dosnt have cracker thin crust and is cut like a pie. Now, I don't care how the pizza is cut but give me something to chew on. I'm mean usually cost the same as my preferred type of pizza but doesn't fill you up. So the Stromboli is more like what I am used to and came with garlic butter sauce. Really good. And their subs n sandwiches have always been great. read more

So I am spoiled living in Connecticut but travel to this area 4x a year for work. Pizza outside of the NY & NJ and New England area is always a challenge. First service. Greeted at the door with an unpleasant eye roll, and menus placed on the table without a word from the hostess. Not sure if she was having a bad day, or that was the food forecast. The pizza was thin crust, sauce not good, and overall pretty poor. Had meatball and mozzarella and coworkers had a pizza sampler. This pizza would go out of business at home. Sorry. The Italian sub and meatball sub were a bit better than the pizza but not much. Our waitress was not attentive. We were done and she was busy cleaning the other half of the restaurant. Lots of televisions here. Good place to watch a game, but I would not eat here again when I come back in February. read more

On a Columbus pizza mission to try as many local pizza shops. This is in the top 10 in the Columbus area- great pizza!

AMAZING service. We brought 40 people in for dinner and they had one guy assigned to our tables. Didn't phase them at all - we got our food and drinks quickly. The pizzas are pretty decent and the prices are very reasonable. Thanks Duane!!! read more

I honestly loved grandads. We came here for my son's birthday. We called ahead for 9 people. We were seated promptly, and drinks arrived---- ok. Each time my husband ordered a drink, he got a drink he didn't order.. I ordered the Kids food first. We had two checks, ours had 3 kids orders. 2- cheese pizzas, with fruit cups and lemonade, and one boneless wings with tots. Then we ordered the adult meals probably 20 Min later which was a 10" cbr and I started to order a Stromboli with pepperoni and banana peppers. Admittedly I changed my order at the end to be a 7" margarita pizza. The boneless wings that came out the server spilled everywhere and said that the kids pizzas were behind but ahead wanted to bring the other kids food. Although ordered 20 min later, all of the adults orders came out before the two kids meal cheese pizzas. Everyone got what was expected except for me. I got A white margarita Stromboli. I didn't end up eating it. The kids pizzas didn't come out until the adults were finished eating. Which was over an hour after they were ordered. It was 10/10 the worst experience I've ever had there. We loved the food but the service is pretty bad and slow. read more

Visited during a heatwave and was shocked to find there was no air conditioning inside the restaurant. When we asked about it, we were told by another patron that the owner's stance is: "It's just a few months out of the year, they can deal with it." That's not just inconsiderate--it's unacceptable. Guests shouldn't have to "deal with" sweltering heat while trying to enjoy a meal. But what's even worse is expecting the staff to work long shifts in those conditions. If you don't care enough to keep your team comfortable and safe, it says a lot about how you run your business. Until the ownership decides that customer and employee comfort is worth investing in, I'll be taking my business elsewhere--and suggesting others do the same. read more

We were unaware of this place until my son's girlfriend told us about it. We had a great meal with great "sports bar" ambiance. Everything we ordered was delicious - wings, Philly sub, Mac & cheese bites and pizza. We've always thought the Roadhouse wings in Hilliard were the best, but theirs are definitely a close second, if not better. We'll be back for sure! read more

The pizza is great. The restaurant is always packed and the wait staff is always busy and friendly.

Ordered a 16" pepp, grn. pepr & mush for carry out the other night. Overall, I'd say it was okay. Good, sweet sauce, pretty good on toppings, decent crust. Good taste. A little pricey, though. Really don't think it was worth what they charged. Service on the phone was...adequate. Could've been better. In the store, they were very nice. The pub looked very good! I'd be willing to go back & try it again. I'd like to try some more from their menu. Just know you're paying for more than just the pizza. read more

Hubby and I stopped here after our church Christmas Eve service. We arrived around 4:15 and was not busy at all and we sat at the bar. Decent selection of good beer and the pizza was as good as always. We always order the gourmet pizza which is basically the supreme only better. We will be back as this is our go to pizza. read more

Second time ordering from here. First was a big , complicated to go order that we put in in person. This time, it was just me, but I'd been caught in a sudden downpour and decided to change my to-go order to eat inside. Staff is very kind. Ordered the turkey club sub and tater tots both times. Very tasty and well-prepared. Not fancy, but tasty and tots done just right. It's a bit loud inside - combination of music and customers. But nice if that's what you're looking for. read more

Grandad's Pizza & Pub - Pizza Sampler - Pizza Near Me - Hilliard, Ohio

Went to the location on 3rd in Grandview a couple of times years ago and it was just OKAY. Once we got a pizza that was doughy and the crust strangely stuck to the cardboard. Second time we got a calzone that was pretty small for the $20 we paid for it but edible and tasty but it didn't move the needle. Due to these circumstances, close to half a decade elapsed before we tried them again at their Hilliard location and it was a HOMERUN. Again, read my other reviews, I don't expect anyone anywhere to bend over backwards and kiss my ass but just exhibit human decency and courtesy and you'll get a good review out of me and this is exactly what I got out of these folks. The pizza was piping hot and fresh, this pie had edge to edge toppings like Donatos claims yet Donatos fails time and time again to actually deliver on this promise, and the crust was nice and crispy and didn't stick to the box like back in the day. Plenty of parking and they had a steady flux of dine in business and take out as well. This pizza was $27 which seems to be par for the course if you want a GOOD pizza given inflation and all and not from a robotic national chain. If it was 1997 no way in hell I'd pay that much for pizza but it is what is and we're thankful we're blessed to afford pies at these prices but it's definitely worth it from these fine folks. We'll be back! read more

I had gotten take out here before, but this time I stayed to try the Gourmet Pizza. I normally don't like tomatoes on pizza, but I even ate them this time, this was so good. Always pleased with their pizza selections. The atmosphere was pretty mellow and the service was very friendly and efficient. Visited this pub to try what they have listed to be a pizza sub, essentially a French Bread Pizza variation. I was very impressed and this actually exceeded my expectations. Great flavor and a LOT of pepperonis - the way it should be - heh heh. Only had to deduct one star due to the amount of time waiting to be served. But other than that, a place I will visit again. read more

We came across Grandad's Pizza at an event, where they were dishing out plates of pepperoni and cheese slices. Staff was friendly and the pizza hit the spot. They also told us that they have a new location on Bethel Road in addition to the existing restaurants. read more

Everything was amazing including food, service, price, location and ambiance. I highly recommend this establishment.

(Note: Dropping a review for their new store on Bethel Rd, it's page hasn't populated yet on yelp! So I'll just talk about the food and not the location or service for now. I'll update and move this review later) This will be my second try with GP&P Bethel. First was just after they opened (took well over a year to open), we did takeaways. A burger and Italian sub. Burger was ok, my only "beef" is they only have one burger option: BBQ Bacon Cheese. Not being a fan of bacon or bbq sauce on my burger, it felt awkward to get what I wanted. So asked for bacon on side to feed to my pup. They just 86'd it altogether. Ok, no problem really. No complaints about the Italian sub, though neither of us cared for their Sysco-esque battered style of fries. They just don't travel well. Second visit we dined in. One more round of the Italian sub just to be safe, it was pretty much a carbon copy of the first one. No complaints, (their fries are definitely best eaten fryer-fresh at dine-in). Also scored a personal 7" pizza, "Gourmet" style - which is essentially their version of The Works. Lots of chunky toppings, cut into squares (aka Ohio style cuts), very good flavor overall. Sad to be saying though I absolutely hated the crust. Ultra thin cracker-style crust, crispy crunchy and easily broken while eating. Wound up using a fork like a shovel lol. So disappointing since I had high hopes. I typically lean towards NY style pizza so a robust crust is super important. But hey, if you enjoy Ohio style cracker crisp you will think you've died and gone to heaven. It's like Donato's USED to be back when. Be prepared for an emptier wallet, cause this pizza ain't cheap ($8.95 for personal). Then again, especially in 2022, nothing really is :( read more

If you can't handle working with a service like Doordash, don't. A pizza shouldn't take 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Had a 5 star experience here for the OSU Iowa hoops game. They've done a nice job with the social distancing set up. TV selection was effective from all angles. Good draft beer selection - cold lites. Their pizza was better than I remembered. Very thin and crispy, fresh ingredients, good eatability. Spicy garlic wings had a little heat, nice crisp, well sauced. Very underrated wings. Really satisfying experience. read more

Grandad's is pretty all right for pizza from a bar. It's nothing fancy. This is a pretty plain building in a boring part of Hilliard. It looks more like an office building. The bar still is pretty open and spacious. It should be thought of as a bar first. A difference is that it has pizza. They have several local beers on tap. It's not a huge list. They of course have Bud and shit like that. I had a BrewDog Elvis Juice. This is moderately priced at about $5 a pint. It doesn't have a huge selection on tap, but they have a good selection of crafts. The menu has lots of other greasy stuff than just pizza. Bar food here is typical stuff like fries and wings, like you would find in most bars that serve food. They also have sandwiches and subs. I had a vegetable sub with potato chips. This is about $7 which seems typical. It overall is pretty good. Lots of local beers here. The food is better than expected for a place like this. read more

We go here for gluten free pizza and beer as one of us has Celiacs. Most recently we were so disappointed. A great little find as we traveled. The food was great and the portion were solid. It was very busy while we were there which caused a wait to be seated but also delayed service. We waited about 20 minutes for the time we asked for the check before we actually got it. With that said, it seemed they were short staffed and our waiter had many tables and busted his butt. I tipped him well as I could tell he did all he could to keep up. I would recommend this restaurant and will visit again when I am in town! Great feel and atmosphere. read more
