I ordered two pizzas from Sexton's Pizza, one cheese and one pepperoni, and both were excellent. The crust really stood out. It had that perfect balance of crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, which is harder to get right than it sounds. The toppings were solid, but honestly the crust is what makes this place special. You can tell they put real effort into the basics, and it pays off. First time here and will not by the last. The location is with a heavy traffic area so parking is a little tough. The interior is sort of like a garage turn restaurant so it's a little dark but nothing horrible. Our server was in top of it and everything was served quickly. The pizza was great. The sauce is a little sweet but the pepperoni is a little spicy which is a good offset for the sauce. The fries were very good with and were served piping hot. Ok. Back again and tried the Kevin Bacon with a side of Hot Honey, Hot Honey wings and a CBC IPA. I'm gonna keep this short. Give me an IV filled with Mike's Hot Honey, plug me in and let me walk towards the light. I'm hooked and can't get enough or say enough about this simple but amazing concoction. I got the wings crispy and baptized them in Mike's. Quick ranch dressing dunk and there were no words. I just sat there grunting and smilin. This is what I wanted today. They are known for selling out so I ordered in the morning for an afternoon pickup. Easy to find behind the cultural and arts center. A lot of parking spots in their lot. Not busy when I walked in since it wasn't even 4pm yet. Nice staff who greeted me. I got a text when my pizza was going in the oven too. Very helpful to know. It tasted delicious! Have given sextons a few tries and honestly I do not get the hype. It's not horrible pizza but for the price and extreme wait times I don't find it worth the hassle. It tastes burnt to me and I don't find the ingredients super fresh or appealing. They have an interesting menu but a lot of the pizzas are kind of similar. IF there were a way to give a rating LOWER THAN ONE STAR, I WOULD GLADLY DO IT. Without question, my experience dealing with SEXTON'S PIZZA was a total disaster and complete waste of time and money. I guess your last name must have to be PORTNOY in order to get GOOD SERVICE and a FRESH, CORRECTLY PREPARED PIZZA when you visit this joint. Because for me, an "average John," this did not happen. My order was simple: New York style pepperoni with regular cheese and extra sauce. I did not feel the need to tell the person who took my order to make it "CRISPY" because according to all the reviews and the pictures on the website, this was SEXTON'S specialty. The person on the phone also told me that the pizza would be ready in 30 minutes, and again, based on all the information I read about SEXTON'S popularity, I assumed that would be the case. Unfortunately, 30 minutes later, I was unpleasantly surprised. When I arrived, the joint was COMPLETELY EMPTY. There were no customers waiting in line. But despite the joint's emptiness, it seemed like I had to wait an eternity for an employee to notice I was at the counter. When they finally brought my $25 PIZZA out to me, I immediately noticed that the box was NOT WARM AND ITS CONTENTS WERE AS COLD AS AN ICEBERG. I asked the employee how long my PIZZA had been sitting out and informed them that person who took my order told me its would take at least 30 minutes. I told the employee that most customers prefer their food to be hot and I would have shown up earlier if I HAD ONLY BEEN INFORMED to do so. But the employee had no explanation why this happened and MADE NO EFFORT TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. Hmmm...WOULD THEY HAVE TREATED DAVE PORTNOY or some other celebrity or food critic this way? And when I opened the box to inspect the PIZZA, it was not evident if the EXTRA SAUCE I HAD REQUESTED had been added. But the employee ASSURED me that it had been. I was tired and hungry after working all day. Plus, I was only going to be in Columbus for a few more days, so I RELUCTANTLY paid my $25. This act turned out to be the WORST DECISION I COULD HAVE EVER MADE. When I returned to my hotel room, my first bite confirmed what my eyes noticed when I first inspected the PIZZA at the restaurant: THERE WAS NO EXTRA SAUCE ADDED TO THE PIZZA!! In fact, there was HARDLY ANY SAUCE at all!! Also, despite some MINOR CHARRING on the edges, THE PIZZA WAS TOTALLY DEVOID of ANY CRISPNESS. The CRUST was barely blackened. In fact, the CRUST was SOGGY and CRUNCH-LESS. Consequent bites were even worse DUE TO THE EXPENSIVE PIE'S lack of sauce. INDEED, THIS MONSTROSITY WAS INEDIBLE AND A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. read more

The long blond hair server with white T-Shirt on Friday 9/13 was very rude and couldn't care less about us. We were waiting to order pizza, the server saw us and completely ignored, walked right to an empty table started to clean everything, move every single chair together, not even turned around even she looked at me and saw me that I was waiting for her. Finally got a chance to try this pizza and it is tasty. The menu had lots of specialty pizza options but also gave you the ability to make your own pizza but choosing your crust and your toppings. This pizza is absolutely top notch. They have so many different options that I need to go back and try. It is small but cute inside this little pizza/bar. They also have a nice patio in the back that looks onto the bike trail. Our server was excellent, helped recommend some options on menu and was very friendly and attentive. Wow, what a letdown. I had such high hopes for this "NY" style pizza and it came burnt. I don't mind my crust a little crunchy but it definitely does not need to taste burnt. They also skimped on the pizza sauce so I wound up with burnt cheesy bread. The only thing you could taste was the burnt crust. It tastes like it's cooked in a stone/brick oven which is usually awesome, but not so much when you're in such a rush to get the pizza out that it's completely ruined. Excellent pizza top to bottom! Thankful to have Sexton's right around the corner. You can't go wrong with the classic ezzo pepperoni. Crust perfectly cooked and toppings well balanced. Love the pop of garlic in every bite. If you're a pickle lover, the What The Dilly Yo!? delivers. Also, you wouldn't expect to find world class ranch at a pizza place, but hot damn their ranch is the stuff dreams are made of.
