I ordered two pizzas from Sexton's Pizza, one cheese and one pepperoni, and both were excellent. The crust really stood out. It had that perfect balance of crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, which is harder to get right than it sounds. The toppings were solid, but honestly the crust is what makes this place special. You can tell they put real effort into the basics, and it pays off. It's not often I give out a full five stars, but this place earned it. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the mood for a really well-made pizza. read more

First time here and will not by the last. The location is with a heavy traffic area so parking is a little tough. The interior is sort of like a garage turn restaurant so it's a little dark but nothing horrible. Our server was in top of it and everything was served quickly. The pizza was great. The sauce is a little sweet but the pepperoni is a little spicy which is a good offset for the sauce. The fries were very good with and were served piping hot. Definitely will keep it in mind when back in the area. read more

This place was absolutely incredible. I saw it on the One Bite app and Dave rated it an 8.1 so naturally I checked it out. It was every bit that score if not better. The inside was cool, back patio overlooking the water and the staff amazing (Candy). What a great spot, thank you! read more

Ate this at the library in fear. I housed a to-go order of the pizza with cream cheese, pepperoni, and hot honey sunk deeply in cups of ranch. I wouldn't be surprised if someone decided to marry and then immediately consummate the marriage to that pizza) (). Anyway, me and my beautiful red-haired friend needed to do homework, so we carried our large hot and ready pizza in through the front door, unbeknownst to the librarians, and snuck into a study room where we ate in the dark. The room itself was directly across from the bathroom, so every time someone went in or out they watched us (rubberneck style) absolutely slop it up. We were fearful we'd get caught and thrown out on the street, but it ended up being fine. Something to note is that if you write in the special request box that you need them to add a picture of a dog and a cow holding hands to your order, you will be more than satisfied. read more

Holy cow! This pizza was so good! I loved that there was hot honey and pepperonis. I will be back. The service was so sweet and interactive even though it was loud. Very good pizza. Had a little trepidation after previous reviews but our experience of the food was great. we had a pepperoni pizza which was excellent and the garlic fries which were also incredible. Only issue was the service wasn't the best, not rude, just slow and very few check ups on our table. Great vibe and atmosphere though. read more

Ok. Back again and tried the Kevin Bacon with a side of Hot Honey, Hot Honey wings and a CBC IPA. I'm gonna keep this short. Give me an IV filled with Mike's Hot Honey, plug me in and let me walk towards the light. I'm hooked and can't get enough or say enough about this simple but amazing concoction. I got the wings crispy and baptized them in Mike's. Quick ranch dressing dunk and there were no words. I just sat there grunting and smilin. This is what I wanted today. AND they were playing old school R&B... Kevin Bacon was equally impressive. This has quickly become my favorite pizza spot. I have to exercise a little control living within walking distance to this place or I'll be 400lbs and single. 5 stars. There ya go!!! read more

Recently ordered from the grandview location. Ordered two pizzas for pick up and realized when I got home one of my pizzas was the wrong one. I went back and let them know the mix up. I am gobsmacked at the amazing customer service!! Long story short they made it right! It is so rare to have a business not only own their mistake but make it right and I will keep going back! Oh and the pizza is hands down the best NY style in Columbus - and trust me I've tried them all!! read more

I see why some people say this is one of the best pizza places in town! I ordered the East Village (pepperoni with basil), 16" NY style pie. They are known for selling out so I ordered in the morning for an afternoon pickup. Easy to find behind the cultural and arts center. A lot of parking spots in their lot. Not busy when I walked in since it wasn't even 4pm yet. Nice staff who greeted me. I got a text when my pizza was going in the oven too. Very helpful to know. It tasted delicious! The basil and the mozzarella tasted fresh. You could tell they used quality ingredients. Price was reasonable for what it was. I'm sure I'll be back! read more

First time here and found it through barstool pizza reviews. The pizza was really tasty, the best part was the crisp and fresh crust of the pizza! We got the garlic knots as well. They were good but the marinara was ice cold. The server also said it came with a cheese dipping sauce so was disappointed in just getting marinara. Would def come back for another pizza! read more

Delicious pizza! Highly recommend. Service and views were great too. Cute walkable area.

It's so good, the staff is very kind and the restaurant is so cool inside. The only issue is it's super expensive and the pizza is thin which I like but it's just priced a little too high for what it is. read more

Have given sextons a few tries and honestly I do not get the hype. It's not horrible pizza but for the price and extreme wait times I don't find it worth the hassle. It tastes burnt to me and I don't find the ingredients super fresh or appealing. They have an interesting menu but a lot of the pizzas are kind of similar. It sucks because they are super close to me but I just can't get with it. With so many pizza options in the city I just can't recommend. read more

Top 3 favorite pizza shop in Columbus Ohio. It can get frustrating not having a phone number to call, but it's all I know at this point.

Placed an order via DoorDash for a later pickup. Arrived at original pickup time, pickup time changed to 15 minutes later. Was told it'd be a few minutes. After checking again 35 minutes after arrival, was told they weren't accepting DoorDash orders and to take it up with them. No offer to take another order, no apologies for setting my expectation that the order would be ready soon. Awful experience. read more

IF there were a way to give a rating LOWER THAN ONE STAR, I WOULD GLADLY DO IT. Without question, my experience dealing with SEXTON'S PIZZA was a total disaster and complete waste of time and money. I guess your last name must have to be PORTNOY in order to get GOOD SERVICE and a FRESH, CORRECTLY PREPARED PIZZA when you visit this joint. Because for me, an "average John," this did not happen. My order was simple: New York style pepperoni with regular cheese and extra sauce. I did not feel the need to tell the person who took my order to make it "CRISPY" because according to all the reviews and the pictures on the website, this was SEXTON'S specialty. The person on the phone also told me that the pizza would be ready in 30 minutes, and again, based on all the information I read about SEXTON'S popularity, I assumed that would be the case. Unfortunately, 30 minutes later, I was unpleasantly surprised. When I arrived, the joint was COMPLETELY EMPTY. There were no customers waiting in line. But despite the joint's emptiness, it seemed like I had to wait an eternity for an employee to notice I was at the counter. When they finally brought my $25 PIZZA out to me, I immediately noticed that the box was NOT WARM AND ITS CONTENTS WERE AS COLD AS AN ICEBERG. I asked the employee how long my PIZZA had been sitting out and informed them that person who took my order told me its would take at least 30 minutes. I told the employee that most customers prefer their food to be hot and I would have shown up earlier if I HAD ONLY BEEN INFORMED to do so. But the employee had no explanation why this happened and MADE NO EFFORT TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. Hmmm...WOULD THEY HAVE TREATED DAVE PORTNOY or some other celebrity or food critic this way? And when I opened the box to inspect the PIZZA, it was not evident if the EXTRA SAUCE I HAD REQUESTED had been added. But the employee ASSURED me that it had been. I was tired and hungry after working all day. Plus, I was only going to be in Columbus for a few more days, so I RELUCTANTLY paid my $25. This act turned out to be the WORST DECISION I COULD HAVE EVER MADE. When I returned to my hotel room, my first bite confirmed what my eyes noticed when I first inspected the PIZZA at the restaurant: THERE WAS NO EXTRA SAUCE ADDED TO THE PIZZA!! In fact, there was HARDLY ANY SAUCE at all!! Also, despite some MINOR CHARRING on the edges, THE PIZZA WAS TOTALLY DEVOID of ANY CRISPNESS. The CRUST was barely blackened. In fact, the CRUST was SOGGY and CRUNCH-LESS. Consequent bites were even worse DUE TO THE EXPENSIVE PIE'S lack of sauce. INDEED, THIS MONSTROSITY WAS INEDIBLE AND A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. read more

I had heard so much about this place that I couldn't wait to try. they were extremely busy and I was told sit anywhere. so I chose the patio which is very nice. However I waited and waited and finally had to track down a sever. The cheese sticks were good so on to the pizza. The pizza was burnt around the edges too much for me. The topping were good, however you kept tasting the burnt part in your mouth... It's hidden in the back and has a beautiful views from the patio. read more

The long blond hair server with white T-Shirt on Friday 9/13 was very rude and couldn't care less about us. We were waiting to order pizza, the server saw us and completely ignored, walked right to an empty table started to clean everything, move every single chair together, not even turned around even she looked at me and saw me that I was waiting for her. I used to work at a restaurant before and I don't think that is something that I'm gonna do if I was working. Everything was on purpose. So we decided to leave, not going to eat here. After we left, she walked after us, I saw her point her finger at us, talked to another girl about us for sure. I know that the restaurant doing very good, but the service was very very very unacceptable. read more

Sextons was a cool first experience for my wife and I. We were craving a greasy hole in the wall style of pizza and sexton delivered! We had an extremely casual seating on the patio (which I'd recommend) and even had my beer delivered in a plastic cup. This is no dress-up place. Our pizza was crisp and flavorful, we loved it!! The only issue, our servers kept changing and we felt like a burden to those who were confused waiting on us. A really casual night was almost a five star if the place was a bit more organized on the service department. We'll be back if in the area! read more

This pizza is absolutely top notch. They have so many different options that I need to go back and try. It is small but cute inside this little pizza/bar. They also have a nice patio in the back that looks onto the bike trail. Our server was excellent, helped recommend some options on menu and was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint would be the wine options aren't that great, but they do have a full bar. We started with the parmesan tots and they were incredible. Then we split the dairy air and hot chicken pizza - and wow we're these delicious. The crowd favorite was the hot chicken, but we all loved both. I am already planning to come back! read more

Tried this tonight for something different, but we're just so-so on it. We may go back & try something different on a pizza, but probably won't. The service was just absolutely non-existent. We were just ignored the whole time until I went & asked for a couple of beers...twice. The bartender DID get our pizza ordered, though, after the first beer request. Another guy brought the pizza, but we didn't see anyone else until we paid. The NY style with sausage, mushrooms & banana peppers was good, but not great. A little too light on the sauce, too. Big , foldable slices that were wood fired. It was okay... More of a bar that serves weird pizzas than anything else. Beer list is large, no service, funky pizzas...I wasn't into it. read more

We wanted pizza, and the Gahanna location didn't open till 3 pm on Sat, so we made our way out to Hillard. As expected, it didn't disappoint. It was great pizza with an awesome crunch and a perfect amount of cheese, pepperoni, and sauce. It was super busy as they had all the tables full and even a birthday party. It didn't affect our experience, and we received great service. We will definitely be back if in the area. Looking forward to trying the Detroit style next time. read more
