The mighty have fallen.. Loved this place, pizza was nearly NY style. Fast forward.. It's always burned, I keep hoping for it to go back to how it was when it opened, but they jacked the prices and killed the quality.. read more

Wow, what a letdown. I had such high hopes for this "NY" style pizza and it came burnt. I don't mind my crust a little crunchy but it definitely does not need to taste burnt. They also skimped on the pizza sauce so I wound up with burnt cheesy bread. The only thing you could taste was the burnt crust. It tastes like it's cooked in a stone/brick oven which is usually awesome, but not so much when you're in such a rush to get the pizza out that it's completely ruined. Also I wish places would stop claiming to have a NY style pizza, a thin crust is not all you need to claim that...okay. At least my order got here early ? read more

One of our favorite pizza places that uses real mozzarella cheese. Excellent service and using the toast app makes it a cinch getting an order in. read more

Excellent pizza top to bottom! Thankful to have Sexton's right around the corner. You can't go wrong with the classic ezzo pepperoni. Crust perfectly cooked and toppings well balanced. Love the pop of garlic in every bite. If you're a pickle lover, the What The Dilly Yo!? delivers. Also, you wouldn't expect to find world class ranch at a pizza place, but hot damn their ranch is the stuff dreams are made of. The ordering experience is a bit clunky and this will be one of your more expensive pizza experiences, but well worth it IMO. read more

I visited there three or four times. The pizza is tremendous. If you like thin crust it is the place for you. Received a 8.1 on the Portnoy scale and definitely deserved it. Decent selection IPAs on tap, bartenders and servers are very helpful and pleasant. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Decent screens for watching the game. Definitely would recommend read more

We tried the Mike pizza, it's a little too sweet for my taste. Overall pretty average or above average. Still better then chain pizza. Overall it's a low budget place, all disposable plates and utensils. And decor. Very casual and can get busy on weekends. Our server was pretty nice. Nothing extra! read more

Really Good! I got a deep dish large pepperoni & mushroom pie. Not a Sicilian but it was a rectangle square cut pie, really good. I had intended to get a regular pie cut pie. I like the pepp and well done setting which make everything crisp and very tasty ! Beat Pizza in Columbus in my opinion! There are several Shops up North in the Akron / Cleveland area better but this is best by far in CBus! read more

Sexton's Pizza - Large Deep Dish Pepp & Shroom ! Yum - Pizza Near Me - Hilliard, Ohio

First time here... What a great little find. Back behind the bustle of Old Hilliard I would have never thought a pizza and bar was back there. Great pizza done any way you want. We had Chicago style and soooooo yummy. Bartender was awesome, very friendly and drinks were good. Cool place, clean bathroom and decent number of tables to sit at. Even outside picnic table out front. read more

So happy to see the success of Sexton's Pizza in their expansions across Columbus. This is easily one of my favorite pizzas in town, and the owners are consistently working to improve the ingredients. They've pretty much perfected the char crust here. I had the MIKE! at this new location with cup and burn peps and Mike's Hot Honey, and it was absolutely delicious. The new location itself is a bit hidden behind the whole Center Street Market area, but it's easily within a couple minutes walk to Crooked Can Brewing, and I'm told you can bring drinks from there over to the Center Street area. This new location has a full bar as well, and it's a decent size too with a bunch of their own cocktails. It looks like they have live music Thursday to Friday as well. I'm always looking for pizza that makes me as happy as the East coast pizza back home in CT, and Sexton's has done a pretty solid job at this. I highly recommend you check them out. read more

Delicious pizza! Ours made with extra cheese. The crust is awesome and everything pairs well with a side of their homemade ranch dressing or garlic sauce. They have a great lunch special of a pizza slice and hand cut fries that gives any fair a run for their money for $6. They are not taking phone orders at this time and their dough is fermented for days with amounts allocated for each days pizza so sometimes they do run out. Terribly disappointing when it happens but definitely makes the prized pizza worth it when you receive it! I live just yards away and I think I'm going to need to utilize the bike path close by a lot this summer to burn off the calories. read more

This pizza is AMAZING. As a native New Yorker I can truly appreciate the thin chewy crust, the brick oven flavor, the huge slices - all of it is 10/10. I recommend this pizza to anyone who loves a delicious, yummy, fresh thin slice of pizza. I usually get cheese and the basil on top is just *chefs kiss*. Well worth the wait and price read more

We ordered from the Sexton's Pizza in Hilliard. It was a Saturday evening and the wait time wasn't bad considering the dinner rush. I loved everything about this pizza! We got the Detroit style which means a thicker type of pizza with a fluffy crust. The toppings are supposed to be crispy, which may not be for everyone. The sauce is delicious and the hot honey on top was a nice touch. read more

Tasty pie! The pie has a wonderful crust underneath and the sauce is very tasty. Not too sweet. It is a true NY style pizza here in the Columbus area. I had an issue with a previous order and I emailed Joey. He emailed me back within minutes, offered to make it right and was honest! I appreciate the customer service. Really clean bar area and the bartender was nice. It's a cool vibe inside - will be returning! read more

Disgusting place - completely burned pizza, you bake and sell a pizza for money? You have to throw out them. I didn't verify pizza and when i was home - i found a burned pizza in the box. Not recommended this place. They scam clients. The pizza was so burned it could double as a frisbee. The crust was charcoal. read more

I am a NYer. That being said, the pie was pretty good tho light on sauce. The price is ridiculous- way too high for a pie. Brooklyn pizza is a tough rival but at Brooklyn pizza you feel like you Steven a pizza joint. Sextons seems too millennialy for me. Couldn't quite identify the genre and vibe. No phone!!! That is strange don't ya think?! Will try again to be fair tho read more

The ratings on here is a joke. This is quite possibly the best pizza in town. Easy 5/5. Crust is fantastic. Every single one is good. You can't go wrong. I've loved every pizza I've had. Fantastic crust, great, sauce and cheese, plentiful toppings....oh and it's veteran owned. If you haven't tried it within the last year, you need to try it again!!! Tell them I sent you!! read more

A lot of people have recommended Sexton's and I don't think it lived up to the hype honestly. I've seen people post about it coming out burnt and ours was definitely more on the burnt today as well. The top had some burnt spots that were fine, but the bottom was definitely burnt. The sauce was decent and the crust ok, but it was very tough. Glad we tried it, but not sure if we will go back to try the deep dish. read more

Our kids were out and about with friends so we went on an impromptu date night to Sexton's. The decor was simple. Black low and higtop tables with a wall separating the room. They offer outdoor seating with a view of a large pond. Though not a full bar, the bar has enough alcohol to suit most requests. The pizza... Whenever we head East, we stop in this pizza shop where the owner is almost yelling at the patrons. He will ask, "take out or will you stay." Regardless of how you answer, he damn near yells, "Sit Down!" Despite his gruff personality, he has the best New Your pizza. Sextons's pizza is nearly similar. Although skimpy on the side, the crust was perfect and the toppings were plentiful. We'd heard service was iffy but, on a Sunday evening, we had great service. The bartender told us to sit where we'd like. Less than 2 minutes after seating, the waiter brought the menus. 2-ish minutes after that he asked if we wanted drinks. After bringing our drinks he took our order. I wanted to give 3 stars but since the food and service was good I gave it 4 stars. So if the food and service were great, why 3-4 stars? Because of the plastic cups. I ordered an Ace Pineapple cider, husband ordered Honeycrisp cider and we each asked for a glass. Dude brought us plastic cups. We looked around and saw everyone was drinking out of plastic cups. I guess I'm a snob. I don't like drinking beer or cider out of a bottle/can. When he gave me the plastic cup, I paused to consider which would be better to drink out of. After eating the awesome pie, my husband asked what I thought. I told him, "I love the pie but I'm never dining in here again. I'll order the pie online, buy a 6 pack for the same price as 1 bottle and eat/drink in the privacy of our home." He thought that was fair. So, get the pie for take out and enjoy in the park nearby or at home. read more

Sextons doesn't mess around with their pizza. They accomplish this by keeping it simple and don't overdo ingredients. The quality of this pie was exquisite and the taste sublime. I saw a lot of people complaining about the crust being overdone, in my opinion if there's no char it ain't done right! The crust was phenomenal and the sauce uncomplicated in its taste of pure bliss while the cheese danced on top in sheer delight and then across our tongues it waltzed in robust beauty. When a pizza can take away the attention of two grown ups sitting at the bar while a hoard of kids screamed and ran around like it was The Lord of The Flies with no parental care or control over the noise these banshees were making you know how good it must have been! The entire staff were straight quality and the service was down home nice. We'll definitely be back although we'll be more discerning about the time and day as to miss the running of the nose miners next time! I'm going 9.1 on this rating! Well earned, from a great group of people giving excellent service through it all! read more

Very good pizza! I wish you could get smaller than just large pizzas. It is yummy, but I end up with so much left over for just me.

This is my favorite pizza in town. Highly recommend this if you like NY style. It will have some dark spots but that is flavor.

Love the pizza, and the back patio! There's a small pond where kids can fish while you eat and can talk with friends/family.

We love this place. Go in person to get sides! Wings and salad are great too! We bring our own chalk when we sit outside to color on the walls. The kids love it. read more

Ordered carry out before 5pm and it was absolutely hassle free. The pizza is really very good especially for carry out. The crust is fantastic. The sauce better than average. The toppings in some cases were on the skinny side which I found annoying because each one was $3.50 add on. So a four item pizza was pretty expensive. You get two so people have variety and you are almost at steakhouse costs. read more

Being a Brooklyn expat I'm a pizza snob. This pizza is the real thing! Run,don't walk.

This pizza is some of the most delicious I've ever had anywhere. I LOVE IT. It's a symphony and no one can take that away from Sextons. The crust is crisp, light and flavorful sauce, great ingredients. However, the restaurant is run poorly. The service was terrible, plastic knives and forks and paper plates with thick crust pizza makes it nearly impossible to eat. The pizza came out on a plastic tray and it wasn't fully cut then set on a can to make it look like a pizza stand (I've seen this move many times). How we the tray is too large and the can too small, when you're trying to saw through it with a flimsy plastic fork you feel like a cartoon character getting pranked by a jokester chef - it's weird and an accident waiting to happen. We'll definitely come back but only for to-go. read more

Sexton's Pizza - DETROIT STYLE PIZZA - Pizza Near Me - Hilliard, Ohio

This Hilliard pizza spot was recommended to my sister by a co-worker. When I learned they had white pizza, I had to give it a try, and I am pleased that I did. I used the online order option, which was user-friendly and quick. The young lady behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. I ate a slice on the way home, and it was delicious. The crust was crispy and chewy, just the way I like it. It had just enough, mozzarella, ricotta, and parm, and the garlic sauce was subtle. I would have liked it to be a bit more garlicky, but it was still good. The next time I order, I will eat it at the restaurant because once I got the pizza home, I realized the hot pizza in a closed box, steamed the crust, causing it to lose the crispness--my bad. My only criticism is there were quite a few bubbles in the pizza--sometimes covering at least half of the slice, so it seemed somewhat of a waste. Sexton's is a nice addition to the Hilliard area. read more

i genuinely feel bad for leaving a 3 star review because this pizza is good, however, never have I experienced such difficulty ordering food. They don't have a phone number, you have to order it through an app 'toast'. On multiple occasions, I have ordered through said app, and my pizza is never ready at listed time. Tonight, I ordered a pizza through the app, to find that my order time had changed to 2.5 hours upon checkout, no way to call and cancel, no way to cancel through the app. Why not take phone orders?? Or at least have a line of contact listed for assistance?? Like I said, the pizza is good if you can jump through the hoops to actually get one, but the inconvenience leaves more to be desired. read more

We were pretty disappointed with both pizzas and wings - we got the Ezzo Pep and North Shore. Both pies were oblong, with toppings disproportionately applied, blackened at the edges and borderline under cooked at the center. The Ezzo pep had one slice with a skyscraper stack of at least 8 peps piled up that didn't cook while the other pieces had hardly any peps on them. The North Shore had several pieces that didn't have jalapeño or pineapple and the bacon appeared to be dumped in the middle so you got just a bit on the end of each slice. The wings were excessively dry and the Buffalo garlic sauce was just a buttery franks like hot sauce that was very thin with chunks of coagulated butter in it. Paid for two Hot Honeys ($2 a piece) and had to remind them at pickup or would have drove off without. For more than $60 - I'd recommend just about any other place in Columbus. Very disappointed. Also, online ordering system said our order could not be placed - but it did withdraw money from my account and after calling I was able to confirm it had worked. Glad I didn't double order or order somewhere else only to be double charged. read more
