One of the best brunches in the DMV. I absolutely love it every single time. The options are plenty, from seafood, omlettes and tacos, to oysters unlimited mimosas and sushi. This spot is perfect for a special occasion or when taking guest from out of town out on the town. Brunch is $90 a person but you will get your monies worth in food and views. The location is gorgeous. It sits right on the waterfront; you can dine outside during the warmer months. The only parking that ever seems available in that area of Georgetown is garage parking; on the bright side the elevator brings you straight into the restaurant. How cool! The food and the service (Ms Veronica) were outstanding. We had the corn and crab fritters, the sweet pea and corn risotto and the Bronzino. I also tried one of their frozen margaritas. This is a brunch review! I've done Sundays mainly and a Saturday as well. The Saturday brunch consists of tapas and it is interesting because they have a bread/pastry plate, a shareable oyster dish, shareable shrimp cocktail and a menu with tapas that are a great portion. They do unlimited mimosas/Bellinis and keep them flowing without you having to remind them. I sat outside and enjoyed the view but some bees were interrupting us! Sunday brunch is an all you can eat buffet set up. You can still do bottomless mimosas/bellinis. The menu is expansive. The flavors are on point and who can deny having some cold crab legs at brunch? After the taco and a few bites of the french toast, I was full! Lol but I did sample a shrimp and grits, a quesadilla and finished with the yogurt parfait. The oysters and steamed shrimp were also fresh!! And delicious. I saw some plates that also included blueberry pancakes, chicken and waffles, breakfast pastries, salads...I mean there was just so much food and everyone was happy with the selection. After dining inside, before leaving my sister and I caught up for a bit on the patio and enjoyed a couple drinks on at the bar. We ordered the blueberry mojitos and as always they were delicious!!! Came to Sequoia with family for restaurant week and had a great time! The space is really large and beautiful, right by the water with a great patio and great light. Despite it being a Saturday night it never got too crowded or too loud so it was the perfect place to come with family. Our service was super attentive and really great the whole time. The servers make great recommendations and do everything to make sure you have a great meal! They don't jip you for restaurant week!! We got to try a great selection of their menu for a good portion and good price. I had the ceviche to start. A little too spicy for me but tender and flavorful plus served with a large portion of chips. For my main I had the salmon which comes with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The salmon was cooked perfectly. It was super super moist and very flavorful. The mashed potatoes were to die for! The spinach was fine, nothing to rave about. For dessert I had the tiramusu which was really tasty but has a weird grainy texture to it. To drink I had the sangria which was super fruity and refreshing. Nice restaurant where you can sit indoor or outdoor for views of the Potomac River. There's a bar outside that you can sit at as well if you just want drinks. My friend made a reservation for us which I recommend because it gets busy quick, especially on a Saturday night. I got the blueberry mojito for a drink which was delicious and then the crab cake entree with the coconut basmati rice. SO delicious!! I attended this place for a wedding. It was genuinely nice as it was right on the water with large glass windows. The reception and ceremony were on the first floor while the cocktail hour was on the upper level. The staff was tremendous all night. For the cocktail hour, there were six or so pass around little plates. I was able to try the chicken tacos, quinoa salad, lamb on a stick, and ahi tuna. They were all very solid. The chicken tacos were bite size with enough filling while the quinoa salad was a changeup compared to the other offerings. The tuna was probably my favorite as it appeared very fresh, simple and tasty. To start the meal, a burrata salad was served. It was served with greens and tomatoes along with a vinaigrette dressing. It was very tasty. The burrata was creamy and bigger than I would have thought but the key was the vinaigrette dressing that brought everything together. For the main course, seabass and a filet were served with risotto. This was outstanding. Both pieces of protein were an ideal size for this type of venue. The filet was cooked to a medium rare while the seabass was cooked appropriately as well. There was light seasoning on both, but that was all that was needed. The risotto was a nice touch as well. My wife and I had dinner at Sequoia, we had hoped we would love the food here,but the experience was a bit of a letdown. We ate late, so they were not busy. We got seated right away. We ordered our appetizer, drinks and entrees, and noticed everyone else had bread but us. We got our appetizer, the grilled Spanish octopus, hoping the bread would come soon. The grilled octopus was a bit overdone, dry and chewy. It would have been better if a bit less cooked, but more charred. The sauce it comes in was good. Our dinner arrived, and we asked the server about the bread. He said that they don't bring bread until after you receive the dinner so as to not fill you up, and then only if you ask for it. A not so honest response to our asking for bread, he could have been honest and said they forgot to bring us some. That knocks a star off of the review. For our mains we ordered the Sea Bass, and the Scottish Salmon. The Sea Bass was OK, the Salmon was a bit overcooked and dry and under seasoned. The mashed potato the salmon came with was very good. A Friday evening show at the Kennedy Center required an equally memorable pre-show meal. McDreamy reserved a table for us at 5pm so we'd have plenty of time to enjoy the meal...and enjoy it we did. The service was attentive and comfortable; Veronica was cheerful and very personable. She checked in with us at the beginning of each course and then let us simply enjoy our meal and conversation. We really appreciated having her manage our table. We started dinner with well-crafted mixed drinks that were tasty, not heavy pours of liquor. McDreamy chose the New England clam chowder and I chose the orchard salad to start our meal. The salad was a reasonable size for a starter but very hearty all the same. It was a healthy mix of greens, squash and wild rice with a light dressing that I frankly could have made a meal of had I added a protein. McDreamy liked his chowder so much that I could barely tell there had ever been chowder in the bowl when he'd finished. The restaurant was offering a steak special served with fingerling potatoes and asparagus, which is exactly what McDreamy chose for his main. It arrived cooked to a perfect medium and, although it would have been way too much meat and potatoes for me, McDreamy ate all of it. I chose the miso sea bass paired with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was absolutely delightful. The fish was melt in my mouth delicious and the sides and sauce were excellent accompaniments. I loved every bite. To end our meal, we both ordered coffees - Irish for him, fancy espresso drink for me - and we shared the crème brûlée. I could eat that dessert every day and not regret it. It was light, not overly sweet, and a wonderful way to end the meal with our warm drinks. The only downside of the experience was the emptiness of the restaurant. We admittedly arrived early for an early bird time slot and the host graciously seated us as the team was finishing their set up. But only two other tables were sat during the hour and a half while we dined. Granted, it was quite intimate and nice to not have to yell over the voices of other diners. There was also the fact that it was a holiday week and the weather forecast threatened snow in DC, which could have kept the hordes away. But we kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Surprise! Nobody is here because 'name the restaurant tragedy of your choice.' But nothing bad happened. The only tragedy was how few people were there to experience an amazing meal. With all that said, we will definitely return for our next pre-show dinner. The proximity to the theater alone is a huge benefit. Add the opportunity to enjoy another delicious meal with impeccable service and it would simply be foolish to dine elsewhere. read more

There are so many other photos featuring entrees so I'm going to focus on what we thought was fantastic. Don't miss the crab cakes; lumpy, succulent and served with a nice (but not overpowering) Aioli. Pork Dumplings rivaled some of the best Asian kitchens. Carving station prime rib serving was more than adequate and juicy tender. Fried Chicken and ribs were savory without the ribs being overly sweet. Crab legs and oysters were sweet, with the legs being very nice size. My wife had pasta from the pasta bar where they placed the cooked pasta inside a wheel of cheese to raise that game up a bit. Our waiter was very accommodating, I don't eat meat and recommended things for me to eat and was able to take the meat products out for my courses. Excellent brunch selections! I will admit that it can be a little on the pricey side for some people, but when you look at the food selections, it's definitely worth the price. There are the basic breakfast staples (eggs, bacon, grits, etc) as well as a very respectable seafood selection (snow crab legs, mussels, clams on the half shell). The service was outstanding. The house mimosa is included in the buffet and my glass NEVER got below half empty. The staff made sure that beverages and water stayed topped off and that empty plates were promptly removed from the table. We went on a somewhat brisk Sunday morning during the cherry blossom bloom, so we opted for indoor seating. The indoor seating area is very bright, very well lit. I had dinner on 5/16/2025, party of 6. The waiters are extremely pushy - always looking for an upsell. A constant harassment all evening long. Really disgusting behavior, considering this is a higher tier restaurant. Then once I received the bill, I saw that there is an automatic 20% gratuity included. I started my Sunday brunch with a waffle, crab cake, and breakfast potatoes...it was soooo good! The waffle had the perfect texture, the breakfast potatoes were seasoned well, and crab cake was yummy. The star of the show was the seafood paella. My GAWD it was good. More sweet than savory and I Loved it! I had a whole plate of it alone. My server was Rosalyn and she was such a sweetheart. The flavors of this meal were so unexpected! Based not the two main meals ordered at my table (on a Friday during lunch), this place does a great job of upscale fusion!! I have to be honest; I couldn't even tell you the last time I've been to Sequioa's, but I am so glad that I did this day. If you've been in the DMV area the last month or so you know that we have been blessed with some of the most beautiful fall days with temps in the mid 70's (this day low 80's). So, when my coworker was having their "Farewell Happy Hour", I couldn't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy appetizers, cocktails, and amazing views. For drinks I tried the Autumn Harvest Sour which literally taste like fall in a glass. I'm sure you're probably wondering what I mean by that, well here's what all was in it; bourbon infused with apples and cinnamon, apple cider and homemade sour mix. They had a variety of appetizers to choose from (margarita flatbread, crispy point calamari, homemade guacamole, shrimp cocktail, and oysters on the half shell. While I didn't get to try everything, I did have the guacamole, flatbread and calamari which were all seasoned well and cooked properly. Was in DC just before the holiday for a business trip and we were brought out to Sequoia for a Sunday night dinner. Located in a great little spot right on the water; I had been here years ago and ate at another restaurant nearby. Anyway! Went off and started with the seasonal sangria which was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Came with a nice visual appeal to it too! Apps for the table: fresh guac and chips, calamari, lobster flatbread (my favorite of the bunch). All were fantastic and came with enough to share; we had a party of 6. All of our entrees were absolutely amazing; could have easily chosen anything my colleagues chose and would have loved it. I went for one of their specials, not on the menu, which was a surf and turf selection; I went for the filet, which was delectable and a fresh crab cake. The crab cake was beyond fresh and delicious.
