We were seated pretty quickly and placed our orders. The place filled up immediately upon opening. My partner got the tonkatsu and egg bowl. It was nice and crispy. Huge portion sizes, pork was juicy. Food came out quick. I got the happy blossom roll, which was a generous size and the fish was fresh. We also split an unagi roll. The eel was yummy. However, be careful eating here. I got an eel bone stuck in my tonsil. So just be more careful than I was! I would come back but would take more care to be sure that there aren't any bones. I went on a work day at lunch and 90% of tables were occupied. They offer many sushi roll options. The portion sizes to the price points are really good! I chose the spring roll which had deep-fried shrimp, smoked salmon, wasabi sauce, unagi sauce, and tobiko. It was delicious and very filling for me so one roll was enough. This was the best place for sushi back then. It's still pretty decent but so many good or even better options have opened up nearby. But it's a good choice for a group. We came for dinner and were seated right away without having to wait which was nice since we were starving. The restaurant was maybe half full which was surprising because this place was usually packed. The entrance still needs work. They expanded the restaurant but didn't improve the entrance. It's narrow already and they have these racks for to go orders and pick ups, which really cramps the area especially in the winter when everyone is walking in and out with big jackets. Immediately our server took our drink orders after we got seated. They offered water or hot green tea, and hot tea was good on a cold night. I've heard many people talk about Sen Dai and I was ready to finally try it myself! It is located in a random plaza. There's not that many parking spots but it didn't seem too busy. We went at 1:30pm, 30 mins before they closed on Sunday and they still welcomed us in. The food came out super quickly! We got the Sendai roll, rainbow roll and the chicken katsu bento. The shrimp in the Marks roll was very juicy and savory, the crab salad compliments it so well. The 237 roll was so flavorful and it may look like too much is going on but the flavors blend well together. The tempura appetizer was honestly one of the best ones I've had so far! The slices of potato were huge, and sweet. I plan on coming back again very soon! The ambiance of the restaurant was really nice. Tables are nicely spread and there is space to move around if yo need to go to the bathroom. Felt very cozy. I haven't dined inside Sen Dai in a looong while. We ate here for lunch on Sunday, got here around 11:40 and already a full house. They open at 11:30. Not much parking left, if there were, you couldn't fit a car there because people park in this lot pretty badly lol and most parking spots that are connected to the stores are reserved. Sometimes there is street parking but those were taken up as well. The plaza nextdoor is a montesorri, didnt see any cars parked there so we parked one more lot down and just walked over. There was a bit of a wait but we were first on the waitlist and waited outside. They have a microphone connected to a speaker outside to call out either delivery orders, to-go orders, or next party to be seated. Sen Dai continues to be one of my favorite sushi restaurants! I got the train roll, my usual roll. The rolls are huge and they don't skimp on the fish. I feel like it used to be slightly bigger but hey, i still cant fit one piece in my mouth lol. If you like scallop and salmon, this one's for you. There's also a thin slice of lemon inside. My cousin always orders the caterpillar roll from here. Lots of avocado! And the last roll we got was the Rockstar roll. It wasn't my favorite but i think it's just down to preference. The roll itself was good. My cousin and I shared 2 pieces of hamachi nigiri and it was so fresh and melted in my mouth. My uncle and my cousin ordered the terriyaki chicken bento and I had a taste, also good. The chicken portion is massive! They came with seaweed salad, house salad, and miso soup. Service is really great here! Waters were refilled on time and food came out pretty fast. Best to have 2 people in the car re: pickup/takeout because the tiny, narrow parking space lot is tough to even find a space! Driver double parks in the tiny lot and the passenger runs in for the pickup. Prices continue to rise but its modern times... everything is going up in price these days! Ugh!
