Eric has been so helpful in getting a very particular pair of glasses I bought from them just right, and I'm a very particular person when it comes to details. I have super specific contact/glasses needs and treat all my glasses like accessories, so having them just right matters to me. Second, the selection is cool. So I bought my glasses less than a year ago they have a warranty that if your lens get scratched they will replace them at 1/2 price. But when I called to get them replaced she inflated the price of the lens to 581.00 but with the half price warranty replacement it would only be 305.90 which is what I originally paid for the lens in the first place. What a bunch of scammers. They thought I wouldn't remember what I paid for my glasses originally. Totally tried to rip me off!!!! Won't be buying glasses from them again. Dishonest. I bought a pair of glasses online and they needed an adjustment. I always feel conflicted about asking for an adjustment somewhere I didn't buy the actual frames. I went to SEE Optical and offered to pay for an adjustment, but I was offered a complimentary one anyway. I even tried to offer a tip but it was turned away. I will definitely go back to SEE Optical when I need frames in the future. Not only did they do an amazing job adjusting my frames, but the frames in the store were beautiful and unique. They are very accommodating about replacing them, but I'm weary of having to return time after time. My husband went to another place today and took the three pair See made with him. This is the most horrible place I have been to. The service was poor...the people working there were horrible and the specs are CHEAP (I mean quality) If you are looking for trend and nothing more go here...the corp. offices are horrible and it is just automated after automated message. Easy 5 stars Great selection with lots of frames I've never seen before. Staff was all very friendly. They passed my test, I purposely acted really pretentious and difficult to please. Furthermore, I found out that the person helping me was indeed an Ohio State grad and I let her know I was a Wolverine to see how she'd react. She did a great job hiding her animosity towards me and I only received one sarcastic burn. Cost ain't cheap but if you have insurance it's very affordable Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois saved me several hundreds of dollars. Funny thing is after I got home I found another pair of backup glasses but I'm still satisfied with this purchase. Makes me look ultra-geek but I could care less, I like my glasses. Last but not least was the fact that I got a thank you card and that they use recycled materials to print their business card, mail envelope and thank you card. Colleen who helped me find my glasses hand-wrote a thank you note and the personal touch was much appreciated. Why? - I strolled in with no intention to buy (I was browsing, killing time on my way elsewhere) when I was approached by Kipper, one of the friendliest, no-pressure sales staff I've ever met. He treated me like I was the only person in the place, even though they were definitely busy, and chatted with me. Suddenly, I was trying on several pair of glasses - some funky, some sensible - to see what new styles would fit my face. Next thing I knew, I'd made an appointment to see their eye doctor, lol! Well played, Kipper, well played! - My eye appointment was easy, informative and, again, I was treated like I was the only customer for the day. I walked out of my eye appointment with a pair of contact lenses to try, in case I decided I'd like to go that route, too. No pressure, just an option. I was told my glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 business days. - 5 days later, I received an email to let me know that my glasses were ready. ~squee!~ I went in, picked up my lovely, brand, new frames and went home. I was in a hurry and didn't stick around to see if they fit well enough. Whoops. - 2 days later, I went back to have the frames adjusted. Michelle was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. She remembered me, joked with me about my job, and ensured that my glasses fit perfectly before I left. - 1 week later, I received a thank you note in the mail that included a sweet discount to be used in the future. How cool is that? I'm so glad I stopped in for a look and I'm proud to say that See is my go-to place for eyewear! read more

While I love SEE eyewear (this is the second pair of glasses I've bought from a SEE. The first being a pair two years ago when I still lived in Denver) I don't think I will go back to this location. The woman who, 'helped' me search for frames was...pushy, In the end it came down to two pairs of glasses...one was $200 more than the other. I went with the cheaper glasses because they were more congruent with my budget. The woman kept pressuring me to get the more expensive frames. Even today, when I went to pick up my glasses after saying, 'hello' her immediate response was, 'are you sure you don't want to try on the green ones again?' Which immediately took away any pleasure from getting new frames. read more

Great trendy glasses but I didn't find them to be too affordable. For one thing, they don't take insurance so if you have any sort of eye coverage, save yourself some money and go to any of the other chains. They do have some great trendy frames though in a large variety of colors. I'd been trying to find some new glasses and I figured I'd branch out and visited SEE after a friend's recommendation. OK, so as I said, not very affordable. Once I found the frames (around $200) it was an extra fee for thinner lenses, an extra fee on top of that for a scratch resistent coating and if I hadn't put my foot down I would have had to pay an additional fee to prevent glare (even though I told them repeatedly these are my back-ups because I normally wear contacts). At the end of the day my total with tax was well above $300. At Lens Crafters or even For Eyes I would have been paying 1/2 that with my insurance. So the cost combined with a "too cool for school" attitude wasn't a big selling point for me. On top of that they initially made my glasses too small for my head (wouldn't fit behind the ears) and although I told them in the store that they weren't comfortable, I still had to return to get them refit. read more

Received a call from the store manager at this location who read my Yelp review and she was so apologetic. She understood that, after paying so much money, I just wanted glasses that actually worked for me. She also expressed that she really wanted to work with me to get this right. That is true customer service and her response is much appreciated. We agreed that I would get a new eye exam from a different doctor and SEE would comp the lenses prescribed by that doctor. I really love their frame selection, which is the main reason I went with SEE in the first place, but this sort of customer service is exactly why I feel like my choice to go with SEE over a different company was a good one. Obviously, I'll be updating after I get the new exam and glasses, but so far, I feel a lot better about this situation. read more

After going to many other stores I decided to get my eyeglasses here. They have a great selection but when it comes time for the fitting, they are quick to say "it looks great!" and try to wrap up the sale. It's a good thing I went with my husband because we both saw that I needed adjustments (some were obvious). Otherwise, they are good but they do not go the extra step. This was the See on Michigan (Watertower Place). p.s. It's one year later I'm having problems with the glasses. The lens has a small crack in two places and the sides look cloudy (the original shine is gone). I talked to them and they are extending the one year warranty for the lenses since it really shouldn't be cracking. I still don't know if I want to use the warranty or just take my foot and put these glasses out of their misery! I'm not impressed with the quality - I've had to go back a few times for adjustments which I usually didn't need adjustments on previous glasses after the first fitting. But these keep coming loose and sliding down my nose. I'm not impressed with the longevity of these glasses. read more

This place is so amazing! As someone who has worked in customer service for years, I can be pretty picky, but the employees at See were above and beyond superb. I had a groupon, which I know for a fact can be a headache for businesses, but they treated me with utmost respect and kindness the entire time. The man helping me out, Kipper, was even nice enough to call my old optometrist to get my prescription for me. I was honestly flattered by their customer service, as they made me feel so welcome and important! Their glasses are adorable, it was truly tough to make a decision! They price including frames and lenses, so it might seem pricey, but actually is about what you'd pay anywhere, except See's quality and design is much, much better. Overall, an awesome trip! I got my glasses from here a few months ago, and could not be happier! All of their frames are custom-made by SEE, so you won't run into people that have the same glasses as you, which is nice. The staff here is all friendly and super helpful, but I have to say that any interaction I have with Adam always makes my day better. He is so personable and genuinely cares for people, and I think that goes a long way. He is always super friendly and cheerful and can instantly brighten anyone's mood! I came in to get my glasses adjusted (which is free, by the way) the other day and he just struck up a conversation and then gave me some eyeglass wipes free of charge. I'm so happy I finally tried this place, for all of the reasons below: 1. MICHELLE. She is fabulous. I'm not the most approachable person on the planet, but Michelle was friendly and helpful without going overboard. She helped me find a subtle, modern nod to the classic cat-eye, taking into consideration my face shape, personality, etc. She even sent my husband and me a hand-written thank you note after our visit - who does that??? I'm sure she doesn't have the time to send notes to everyone she helps, so the gesture was all the more meaningful. 2. The selection, while not expansive, is different than what you're going to find in your go-to places like Lenscrafters, etc. I had been doing to Dean Optical and was just never happy with the frames I saw there. I'm not a trendy person, but if I'm going to wear something on my face every day, I want it to be more than just functional. I love my new frames even more than the crazy-expensive Tiffany frames I'd been wearing. And these were a fraction of the price. 3. The price!! So reasonable, even a budget-conscious girl like me wouldn't feel guilty about walking out of there with two pairs. The floor is trendy and minimalist - nothing to distract you from finding the right pair of frames for you. The back of the shop (where the exam room is, etc.) isn't as well-kept, but if not redecorating their office every 6 months is how they keep prices down, so be it. I'd walked by the place for years, assuming from the look that it was way outside my price range. 4. The doctor. She was efficient and friendly, taking time to answer questions and make sure you were comfortable before writing your prescription. She gave me a copy of my prescription without me having to ask for it, which I thought was really customer-friendly. She knows I could take that script and purchase my glasses elsewhere, and I appreciate that she made it easy for me to do so. I LOVE my new glasses. Finally, something that looks cute on my weird face. I've received tons of compliments and have been telling people to check out SEE if they're in the neighborhood. Yep. Everything everybody else said is true about the experience here. I have been all over the place looking for new frames that I like that don't make me look goofy, so I stopped in here. Adam (cutie! You think a guy can't wear glasses and look hot at the same time? Psh.) was so friendly and helpful he was more like a friend helping me pick out glasses than a salesperson selling them to me. He also explained that See has their own frame designs and designers that work only with them, so they are the only ones who have the frames they have. S.E.E. Eyewear, or "Selective Eyewear Elements" is a great place to get both your glasses, but also your eyes checked. As a 20+ year contact wearer, I trust these guys with my eyes, as well as arming me with a hip pair of specs to wear on tired eye days. They carry their OWN brand/line of frames, and while they are definitely known (InStyle, Lucky, etc. all have covered them) for their fashion frames, they have very cool glasses for the more conservative types, like me...I straddle the line though -- I try to see how far I can push the flashiness, and S.E.E. is a worthy accomplice. Even if you just pop in here one weekend day to check out the boutique, I also encourage you to get your annual check-up with them too: good young optomerist(s), and peace of mind that your corneas aren't bulging! I came in to find a new pair of glasses and they spent extra time making sure I found exactly what I wanted, even stayed late after the store close to help finish and process my order. There are tons of different styles of glasses and very reasonable compared to a lot of the local doctors offices but better choices and unique ones at that. I purchased glasses from here a year ago, and they had a great sunglasses special happening also--my first pair of prescription sunglasses! YES! Also, my glasses had a fatal accident last week, and even though the warranty had just run out, they still gave me a new pair (swapped the lenses) for the warranty price. They have fun frames, but they'll probably give you a headache. Really what sold me was they have replacement jewels if you wear glasses with bling, and I do. I liked that. The doctor gave me a bonkers prescription though. He was under the impression my eyes were miracles and cured themselves. My regular optometrist was really shocked when she saw what I was using. They gave me really bad headaches. Best thing about this place was the guy who worked in the front who tried on frames with me. He was some expert on Rasputin and entertained me to no end. Some nice glasses and a very nice staff... But, when I went to pick up my glasses they were missing one of the screws that holds them together. When I went to get the screw replaced, they simply crammed another screw, one that doesn't match, into the hole of the previous smaller screw. I needed the glasses so I kept them, but I was unhappy with the overall level of perfection (or lack there of) with a product that I had just bought. The reason this is a 3 star review instead of a 1 star is because of the service. The people who work at this place are very nice and attempt to be as helpful as possible. I should have made a complaint about the screw at the time, I'm sure they would have taken the glasses back and made a new pair for me. I will take some of the blame for this situation, but any store that provides new things should provide them in perfect condition. read more
