Great job on my sunglasses. Were able to use my frames which was very helpful. Several other places couldn't even do sunglasses for my prescription. read more

SEE, how do you get me EVERY time?! Every time I go here for glasses, and I go here EVERY time I need new glasses, I think "Okay, THIS is my favorite pair from SEE. No . . . THIS one is." Which makes it easy to do sunglasses out of the frames when I get a new Rx. Now I take my 95 year old hipster Mom here for her glasses, because we tolerate no old lady glasses for my artist Mom! Rolled in here with Mom for glasses for both of us. Found to STELLAR pairs. And there was a trunk show going on! Discounts, a DJ, goodie bags, MIMOSAS, and some high end chocolate for my Mom! The staff is absolutely awesome, friendly, helpful - just great! Fun AND perfect lenses. They get them right every time. Just go here if you need glasses and want to look all cool and European - who doesn't want to? They also have GREAT sales. read more

First and foremost, the customer service is 10/10. Eric has been so helpful in getting a very particular pair of glasses I bought from them just right, and I'm a very particular person when it comes to details. I have super specific contact/glasses needs and treat all my glasses like accessories, so having them just right matters to me. Second, the selection is cool. This is a dangerous place if you're into shopping and style. Unique, quality frames that you aren't likely to see similar anywhere else. Price is point is fair and the quality is there to back it up. It's nice to know I have found my place to purchase all my glasses/sunglasses going forward. read more

I was in a major bind as my frames broke right before I was traveling. Natalia was so kind and helpful. Found frames to fit my lenses... 100% and wonderful customer service! Thank you!! read more

New to the area so first time here for an eye exam. Overall great experience! Staff was really friendly and helpful with looking at frames. Dr. Xie was also really nice and informative during the eye exam. Very welcoming and easy process to get an eye exam and lens. I recommend this place! read more

Just amazing the customer service top-notch Natalia and the team there worked with to find the perfect pair of glasses, and I end up finding two pairs, and my wife even got two pairs. They have tons to choose from. You could go somewhere else, but how about I just slap in your face and take your money. Go to the best there is in Chicago. If you go somewhere else you're just wasting your time. read more

SEE has been serving my eyewear needs for years now and they are always professional and happy to serve their customers. This visit I had an eye exam and consultation for new glasses. It was quick and pleasant. SEE always has a great selection. The SEE FREE discount is awesome! read more

I bought a pair of glasses online and they needed an adjustment. I always feel conflicted about asking for an adjustment somewhere I didn't buy the actual frames. I went to SEE Optical and offered to pay for an adjustment, but I was offered a complimentary one anyway. I even tried to offer a tip but it was turned away. I will definitely go back to SEE Optical when I need frames in the future. Not only did they do an amazing job adjusting my frames, but the frames in the store were beautiful and unique. I highly recommend this place.:) read more

Went here for an eye exam and was left very uncomfortable after being seen by Dr. Jeannie Xie. She was hitting on me the whole time...overall really weird experience. I do not recommend! read more

So I bought my glasses less than a year ago they have a warranty that if your lens get scratched they will replace them at 1/2 price. But when I called to get them replaced she inflated the price of the lens to 581.00 but with the half price warranty replacement it would only be 305.90 which is what I originally paid for the lens in the first place. What a bunch of scammers. They thought I wouldn't remember what I paid for my glasses originally. Totally tried to rip me off!!!! Won't be buying glasses from them again. Dishonest. Buy somewhere else read more

Where do I begin... See is the ONLY place I go for glasses! I mean, where else can you go and get great personable service and prescription glasses that separate you from all the ordinary glasses and less trendy. I've found that over the years, wether in Chicago or Miami, the same great service and people are contagious. Years ago I met a John who made me love glasses and understand that they can set you apart in the world, then more recently another John at See on Clark street, has proven to me the same. He went above and beyond to insure my glasses were truly providing me with the best sight possible, as well as making sure that I was 100% satisfied with everything. Please go to See eyewear, and let your individuality speak through your frames, and experience superior service that rocks! You'll see at See! read more

It was an awesome experience. I'm a repeat client, but this most recent interaction was even better than the previous ones which were always strong. Natalia was beyond helpful. She did an amazing job of locating a replacement pair of glasses for me. She found the last pair and in less than two weeks I had them in hand. Natalia is a retail goddess and a professional! Thanks for the eyewear. Cody read more

I was putting on my glasses the other day and my brother commented "how long have you had those things?" Hmmmm....maybe my eyeglasses from high school just aren't cool anymore? It's probably time to get some new ones. I'm well aware that my glasses are a bit out of style, but considering I only wear them when I'm watching TV or driving I would much rather spend my money on the more important things in life: shoes, purses, and winter coats. Thanks to all the reviews I've been reading on Yelp l decided it may be time to take a trip to See. Y'all are right- they sure do sell some trendy and cool glasses in this store! After seeing See's prices today I may be able to afford some new face furniture that doesn't resemble what Andrea Zuckerman was wearing in the 90210 days. The best news of all- I'll still be able to buy those winter boots I've had my eyes on. read more

Really chic frames. Hard to walk in here without buying something even when all you need is an adjustment or exam. Everyone is also really cute & friendly which makes it even harder! But I get TONS of compliments on my frames still. read more

The staff at SEE were so great. Dr. Bhatt was kind, professional, efficient, and overall excellent to be around. The best part was John - he spent plenty of time making sure I found the frames that were a perfect fit and something I would be happy with for a long time. Charlie was also a great help. He helped with my decision as well and proved to be very pleasant. I will absolutely be back to this store for my exam and new glasses next year!! read more

Cute glasses, friendly staff. But, I have had to have the lenses remade twice and they still aren't right. My husband's aren't right either. They are very accommodating about replacing them, but I'm weary of having to return time after time. My husband went to another place today and took the three pair See made with him. Turns out they are three different prescriptions! This is crazy because they were made at the same time from the same eye exam. read more

This is the most horrible place I have been to. The service was poor...the people working there were horrible and the specs are CHEAP (I mean quality) If you are looking for trend and nothing more go here...the corp. offices are horrible and it is just automated after automated message. The glasses I purchased just sit on my nightstand collecting dust...they don't fit correctly even after a zillion adjustments.... Not a fan....I know a lot of people gave great reviews but I had a much different experience. I will never go here again read more

Easy 5 stars Great selection with lots of frames I've never seen before. Staff was all very friendly. They passed my test, I purposely acted really pretentious and difficult to please. Furthermore, I found out that the person helping me was indeed an Ohio State grad and I let her know I was a Wolverine to see how she'd react. She did a great job hiding her animosity towards me and I only received one sarcastic burn. Cost ain't cheap but if you have insurance it's very affordable Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois saved me several hundreds of dollars. Funny thing is after I got home I found another pair of backup glasses but I'm still satisfied with this purchase. Makes me look ultra-geek but I could care less, I like my glasses. Last but not least was the fact that I got a thank you card and that they use recycled materials to print their business card, mail envelope and thank you card. Colleen who helped me find my glasses hand-wrote a thank you note and the personal touch was much appreciated. I will recommend to any person who is seeking cool glasses with great customer service. read more

Love. This. Place. Why? - I strolled in with no intention to buy (I was browsing, killing time on my way elsewhere) when I was approached by Kipper, one of the friendliest, no-pressure sales staff I've ever met. He treated me like I was the only person in the place, even though they were definitely busy, and chatted with me. Suddenly, I was trying on several pair of glasses - some funky, some sensible - to see what new styles would fit my face. Next thing I knew, I'd made an appointment to see their eye doctor, lol! Well played, Kipper, well played! - My eye appointment was easy, informative and, again, I was treated like I was the only customer for the day. I walked out of my eye appointment with a pair of contact lenses to try, in case I decided I'd like to go that route, too. No pressure, just an option. I was told my glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 business days. - 5 days later, I received an email to let me know that my glasses were ready. ~squee!~ I went in, picked up my lovely, brand, new frames and went home. I was in a hurry and didn't stick around to see if they fit well enough. Whoops. - 2 days later, I went back to have the frames adjusted. Michelle was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. She remembered me, joked with me about my job, and ensured that my glasses fit perfectly before I left. - 1 week later, I received a thank you note in the mail that included a sweet discount to be used in the future. How cool is that? I'm so glad I stopped in for a look and I'm proud to say that See is my go-to place for eyewear! read more

While I love SEE eyewear (this is the second pair of glasses I've bought from a SEE. The first being a pair two years ago when I still lived in Denver) I don't think I will go back to this location. The woman who, 'helped' me search for frames was...pushy, In the end it came down to two pairs of glasses...one was $200 more than the other. I went with the cheaper glasses because they were more congruent with my budget. The woman kept pressuring me to get the more expensive frames. Even today, when I went to pick up my glasses after saying, 'hello' her immediate response was, 'are you sure you don't want to try on the green ones again?' Which immediately took away any pleasure from getting new frames. read more

Great trendy glasses but I didn't find them to be too affordable. For one thing, they don't take insurance so if you have any sort of eye coverage, save yourself some money and go to any of the other chains. They do have some great trendy frames though in a large variety of colors. I'd been trying to find some new glasses and I figured I'd branch out and visited SEE after a friend's recommendation. OK, so as I said, not very affordable. Once I found the frames (around $200) it was an extra fee for thinner lenses, an extra fee on top of that for a scratch resistent coating and if I hadn't put my foot down I would have had to pay an additional fee to prevent glare (even though I told them repeatedly these are my back-ups because I normally wear contacts). At the end of the day my total with tax was well above $300. At Lens Crafters or even For Eyes I would have been paying 1/2 that with my insurance. So the cost combined with a "too cool for school" attitude wasn't a big selling point for me. On top of that they initially made my glasses too small for my head (wouldn't fit behind the ears) and although I told them in the store that they weren't comfortable, I still had to return to get them refit. read more

Received a call from the store manager at this location who read my Yelp review and she was so apologetic. She understood that, after paying so much money, I just wanted glasses that actually worked for me. She also expressed that she really wanted to work with me to get this right. That is true customer service and her response is much appreciated. We agreed that I would get a new eye exam from a different doctor and SEE would comp the lenses prescribed by that doctor. I really love their frame selection, which is the main reason I went with SEE in the first place, but this sort of customer service is exactly why I feel like my choice to go with SEE over a different company was a good one. Obviously, I'll be updating after I get the new exam and glasses, but so far, I feel a lot better about this situation. read more

After going to many other stores I decided to get my eyeglasses here. They have a great selection but when it comes time for the fitting, they are quick to say "it looks great!" and try to wrap up the sale. It's a good thing I went with my husband because we both saw that I needed adjustments (some were obvious). Otherwise, they are good but they do not go the extra step. This was the See on Michigan (Watertower Place). p.s. It's one year later I'm having problems with the glasses. The lens has a small crack in two places and the sides look cloudy (the original shine is gone). I talked to them and they are extending the one year warranty for the lenses since it really shouldn't be cracking. I still don't know if I want to use the warranty or just take my foot and put these glasses out of their misery! I'm not impressed with the quality - I've had to go back a few times for adjustments which I usually didn't need adjustments on previous glasses after the first fitting. But these keep coming loose and sliding down my nose. I'm not impressed with the longevity of these glasses. read more

This place is so amazing! As someone who has worked in customer service for years, I can be pretty picky, but the employees at See were above and beyond superb. I had a groupon, which I know for a fact can be a headache for businesses, but they treated me with utmost respect and kindness the entire time. The man helping me out, Kipper, was even nice enough to call my old optometrist to get my prescription for me. I was honestly flattered by their customer service, as they made me feel so welcome and important! Their glasses are adorable, it was truly tough to make a decision! They price including frames and lenses, so it might seem pricey, but actually is about what you'd pay anywhere, except See's quality and design is much, much better. Overall, an awesome trip! Kipper, if you ever read these, thanks for everything! read more

Adam is very knowledgeable and a great help. They have a great selection of glasses. This is the 2nd pair not only for back up but Regular use as well. Thank you read more

I got my glasses from here a few months ago, and could not be happier! All of their frames are custom-made by SEE, so you won't run into people that have the same glasses as you, which is nice. The staff here is all friendly and super helpful, but I have to say that any interaction I have with Adam always makes my day better. He is so personable and genuinely cares for people, and I think that goes a long way. He is always super friendly and cheerful and can instantly brighten anyone's mood! I came in to get my glasses adjusted (which is free, by the way) the other day and he just struck up a conversation and then gave me some eyeglass wipes free of charge. Now THAT is service..above and beyond. I highly recommend this place. Superior product, decent selection, friendly staff, great location...5 stars in all categories! read more

I'm so happy I finally tried this place, for all of the reasons below: 1. MICHELLE. She is fabulous. I'm not the most approachable person on the planet, but Michelle was friendly and helpful without going overboard. She helped me find a subtle, modern nod to the classic cat-eye, taking into consideration my face shape, personality, etc. She even sent my husband and me a hand-written thank you note after our visit - who does that??? I'm sure she doesn't have the time to send notes to everyone she helps, so the gesture was all the more meaningful. 2. The selection, while not expansive, is different than what you're going to find in your go-to places like Lenscrafters, etc. I had been doing to Dean Optical and was just never happy with the frames I saw there. I'm not a trendy person, but if I'm going to wear something on my face every day, I want it to be more than just functional. I love my new frames even more than the crazy-expensive Tiffany frames I'd been wearing. And these were a fraction of the price. 3. The price!! So reasonable, even a budget-conscious girl like me wouldn't feel guilty about walking out of there with two pairs. The floor is trendy and minimalist - nothing to distract you from finding the right pair of frames for you. The back of the shop (where the exam room is, etc.) isn't as well-kept, but if not redecorating their office every 6 months is how they keep prices down, so be it. I'd walked by the place for years, assuming from the look that it was way outside my price range. 4. The doctor. She was efficient and friendly, taking time to answer questions and make sure you were comfortable before writing your prescription. She gave me a copy of my prescription without me having to ask for it, which I thought was really customer-friendly. She knows I could take that script and purchase my glasses elsewhere, and I appreciate that she made it easy for me to do so. I LOVE my new glasses. Finally, something that looks cute on my weird face. I've received tons of compliments and have been telling people to check out SEE if they're in the neighborhood. Thank you, Michelle and everyone else who helped make this such a great experience. I'll definitely be back! read more

Yep. Everything everybody else said is true about the experience here. I have been all over the place looking for new frames that I like that don't make me look goofy, so I stopped in here. Adam (cutie! You think a guy can't wear glasses and look hot at the same time? Psh.) was so friendly and helpful he was more like a friend helping me pick out glasses than a salesperson selling them to me. He also explained that See has their own frame designs and designers that work only with them, so they are the only ones who have the frames they have. So not the recycled frames you see at every other glasses place. Adam did a wonderful job, picking out the only two frames in the city of Chicago that I like. Only problem is, now I have to choose between those two frames read more

Dear See: Thanks for helping me find a new snazzy pair of glasses that I totally love, without blowing my budget. Thanks for not acting like you were too cool to help me and for not laughing at me when I tried on glasses that I thought would make me look cool and indie, but really made me look like a nerdy librarian. (This courtesy is not extended at all eyeglass shops I've been to.) Thanks for not getting annoyed with me for coming in over and over again with various friends and family, so that everyone in my life could confirm what a good decision I was making. And thanks for pulling the same glasses for me every time I was there and not pushing me into buying something. You're the best! read more

S.E.E. Eyewear, or "Selective Eyewear Elements" is a great place to get both your glasses, but also your eyes checked. As a 20+ year contact wearer, I trust these guys with my eyes, as well as arming me with a hip pair of specs to wear on tired eye days. They carry their OWN brand/line of frames, and while they are definitely known (InStyle, Lucky, etc. all have covered them) for their fashion frames, they have very cool glasses for the more conservative types, like me...I straddle the line though -- I try to see how far I can push the flashiness, and S.E.E. is a worthy accomplice. Even if you just pop in here one weekend day to check out the boutique, I also encourage you to get your annual check-up with them too: good young optomerist(s), and peace of mind that your corneas aren't bulging! Get in there! read more

Bought a groupon & unlike some other companies (you know the ones that role their eyes & are barely helpful!), Melissa was beyond helpful. She helped me pick out the perfect frames for some prescription sunglasses and was very patient and welcoming. It made buying glasses such an amazing experience. I would definitely come here again. Thanks Melissa!!!!! Btw, they have amazing trendy frames that dont cost an arm & a leg which is very unexpected from looking in their window. One would expect to spend $$$$ but you'll only spend $$. I'm very happy with my new sunglasses. I shopped online, narrowed myself down to a few styles and went in, having braced myself for "A Sales Experience", which I wasn't exactly looking forward to. It ended up being totally fine. See Eyewear has a fun selection of glasses, and a great in-house optician who can get you in and out while you shop for glasses. I purchased glasses from here a year ago, and they had a great sunglasses special happening also--my first pair of prescription sunglasses! YES! Also, my glasses had a fatal accident last week, and even though the warranty had just run out, they still gave me a new pair (swapped the lenses) for the warranty price. THAT is great customer service!! read more

They have fun frames, but they'll probably give you a headache. Really what sold me was they have replacement jewels if you wear glasses with bling, and I do. I liked that. The doctor gave me a bonkers prescription though. He was under the impression my eyes were miracles and cured themselves. My regular optometrist was really shocked when she saw what I was using. They gave me really bad headaches. Best thing about this place was the guy who worked in the front who tried on frames with me. He was some expert on Rasputin and entertained me to no end. Some nice glasses and a very nice staff... But, when I went to pick up my glasses they were missing one of the screws that holds them together. When I went to get the screw replaced, they simply crammed another screw, one that doesn't match, into the hole of the previous smaller screw. I needed the glasses so I kept them, but I was unhappy with the overall level of perfection (or lack there of) with a product that I had just bought. The reason this is a 3 star review instead of a 1 star is because of the service. The people who work at this place are very nice and attempt to be as helpful as possible. I should have made a complaint about the screw at the time, I'm sure they would have taken the glasses back and made a new pair for me. I will take some of the blame for this situation, but any store that provides new things should provide them in perfect condition. read more
