You are first greeted by either one of two gentlemen or by a wonderful lady when you first walk in. No long waits either. The optometrist is amazing and has a great working knowledge of how to get your eye sight corrected. The visit is always short and sweet. She was great with me and wonderful with my 6 yr old little boy. You usually get your eye wear fairly quickly once ordered and the princing is right. They are such a great optical center. The two guys and the girl (in the front are very nice and helpful (I'm not good at remembering names). When you have a problem with your glasses instead of them telling you that you have to buy another pair of glasses all over again, they will put everything they have into solving whatever type of problem you may incur with your glasses. I've been going to them ever since I discovered them about 4 years ago. The doctor herself was amazing and very thorough and concerned about the health of my eyes. With my initial visit I understood they took walk in and such and assumed a little longer wait times. But, as they accept most insurances I referred a lot of people that were also in need of optical care. I even decided to go for myself ( my initial visit was for my son) and was given a wide range of glasses but was not told I could do either/or when it came to contacts. No big deal, I'll buy my own. I referred my mother and my little sister because my sister has been needing glasses since birth and her regular doctor no longer took her insurance. 2 hours passed her appointment and my mother calls me in tears, the man in the front ( who I later found out was the OWNER) belittled her and raised his voice to her after she had waited 15 min to get a prescription and was then cut in front of by a man and he was helped before her. That's when she asked how come he was helped and she had been standing there he came storming in and went off on her! Told her she isn't a customer ( she was there for my sister, she's 4)and that she can't come in there anymore because in shorter terms she should shut her mouth and sit down. I have also realized from observing that if you aren't from their country they don't treat you very well( just an observation). I'm sorry sir, but I'm pulling my son myself and my family as well as my referrals from your store and taking my business elsewhere. Degrading a mother and in front of her child regardless of the relations, is NOT ok in my book. Also, he decided to tell my mom on her way out ADIOS. She's romanian and my sister is half Puerto Rican.... The lady in the front must of seen it before as she did not intervene. I went here once to get my glasses fixed. The staff was friendly and their service was quick. But the shop is pretty small and so is their collection of frames. Don't expect to find any desinger frames here -- they have a bunch of no-name frames at designer prices. They also charge quite a bit for an eye exam. Shop around before you go here! read more

Love this place! I have Medicaid insurance, they have a good selection of Davis collection eye frames covered with insurance. I ordered my frames, I already had my prescription, and they arrived in less than a week!!! Alfred was very helpful and courteous. I would recommend this place to anyone. I have been coming to See and Save Optical for almost 13 years now and as someone who appreciates great customer service, I must say I have never had an issue dealing with this establishment. The owners of the shop are extremely knowledgeable in the optical industry, and are more focused on helping the customer choose the best product for their needs as opposed to just making a sale. They also have an in house eye doctor, which makes the process of getting a new prescription and a pair of glasses much easier. And do I need to mention the range of frames they carry (every single name brand). Make sure you go there for your next pair of glasses, I highly recommend. read more

First, I may be biased because the eye doctor I had been going to since I was a child located in Niles was absolutely the best. They had great doctors, a beautiful office, and amazing staff. Unfortunately, they no longer accepted my insurance so I had to find somewhere new. When I found out that this place accepts my insurance and was nearby, I decided to try it out. I will warn you, if you're expecting to a really professional, clean looking office, this is not the place. The office is really small and not the cleanest. The doctor was really sweet (although she did seem like she was in a hurry, but otherwise the exam itself was fine), but the front staff was a bit rude and the wait was long. It seems like they're not the nicest if you don't speak their language (just being honest with my experience). After my exam, it felt like I was talking to a used car salesman and not an optician. He kept trying to tell me that I wouldn't find better glasses or contacts anywhere, and was being very flippant. While I was looking at glasses and trying to decide on frames, the young man helping me completely stopped when someone else just walked into the office and started speaking to him another language. Kind of rude that he didn't say anything when we were interrupted, and just jumped from me to another customer. Honestly, the experience wasn't horrible and I am happy with my new Coach frames, but based on the standard set by my previous doctor (Professional Eyecare Center in Niles), it's definitely a step down and nothing special. read more

I chose this clinic because it's near to my home. When I went in to schedule my appointment the young man working the front was efficient, kind, and professional. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the optometrist who did my eye exam. Her name is Svetlana Kalisker. Her "bedside manner" leaves more than a little to be desired. Either she was having a really bad day or she just doesn't like the work she's chosen to do. I had the pleasure of listening to her speak to clients on the phone before my exam so I know she didn't single me out for the joy of her contempt. She speaks to everyone as though we're idiots and we're lucky she's decided to grace us with her attention. After my exam was completed, which took less than 5 minutes and didn't feel at all thorough, I asked a question about contacts vs. eyeglasses. That's when the trouble started. She told me she would have to do a different kind of exam and my insurance covered either one or the other and I'd already made a choice. I'd spoken with the insurance company before my appointment so I knew that information wasn't correct. It was then I realized I'd made a mistake. I've filed a grievance with my insurance company and now I'm posting this. You've been warned. Enter at your own risk. read more

Alfred was helpfulwith my daughters glasses for about 4 years that is until today. I walked in i asked the other guy that works there for him as usual he wasnt there i asked when he will be back he said maybe a week or two or three i said is he on vacation because of it was going to be a long way out i would just deal with this guy otherwise i can wait a week for alfred but he wouldn't give me any helpful answer. So i waited 45 minutes however I started realizing everyone coming after me is being helped i went to him and said when is it my turn you are helping someone that came in after me he started getting very rude and disrespectful telling me in this place they have no rules or system they go by they pick and choose the customer they want to help he was being sarcastic saying why dont i go open up my own place and then i can make up my own system to follow, i was very considerate and watchful of who he was helping like quick frame pickup which i didn't mind but i spoke up when he took a girl that came "after me" sat her down to do something with contacts which seemed like it would take a while, he went off when i asked politely saying he knew i was going to give him a hard time ever since i came in asking for alfred , he was under pressure and its not my problem if they are stingy and cant afford more help in that store, he raised his voice at me and followed me outside to harass me even more he actually left his customer waiting to go outside the store in public to yell at me i should of called the cops for harassment, this man is very disrespectful, rude and he thinks he still lives in Iraq where he can yell at a female customer and expect her to shut up. He made me feel less of a customer because i have medicaid saying what have you paid here since you've been coming to us he said i asked too many personal questions like is alfred on vacation he stepped his boundaries by asking if i paid them anything since coming to them thats none of his business either it's not like i owe them anything. And since i am writing a review about his horrible customer service i also want to mention about the optometrist she doesn't know what she's doing i seen her once for contacts i even corrected a mistake she did with my paperwork. I came here to get contacts and they were very friendly and helpful! They gave me some solution and a case to put them in as well because I had my old ones in. All of the workers were extremely kind and I hardly had to wait which was awesome. Alfred helped me specifically and he did a great job.
