I've enjoyed Sed Cocina for my third meal and it's time to dish. When I come through the door I feel welcomed by the bright & funky wall treatment, lively cumbia and other Latin music playing, numerous plants throughout, and super friendly staff (all wearing cool Sed cook's aprons over black shirt, jeans, and black shoes). The energy in this little spot is alive and you will not leave here feeling anything but full and happy! I typically start with salsa when reviewing a Mexican restaurant, but I need to comment on food value first. The menu is full of main dishes & combo plates, three individual items, and a separate drink menu (coffee de la olla is the bomb). On my first visit I only wanted to sample a couple tacos and was a bit disappointed the menu didn't list à la cart tacos...until I spoke with my server who confirmed they had à la cart tacos. I ordered 2 tacos, coffee de la olla, extra salsa, a side of cabbage, and got out of there for under $13 before tip. Their plates top out at $24 for the decadent dishes, but most mains and combos are in the $16-$19 range. I'm a habitual over-eater so always clean my plate, but many folks were leaving with leftovers. I ordered steak and eggs this morning with extras and coffee for $22 before tip. Unheard of these days, but a highly appreciated cost to meal value! On to the food, starting with salsa. Simple-done-well is my take away for everything at Sed, including their fantastic red and green salsas. Red is tomato roasty, a bit tangy, and decently spicy, with red chili driving the flavor. If spicy isn't your thing, go easy on this, but don't miss out as it really enhances the flavor of the food. Green is bright, tangy from tomatillo and citrus, a bit herbaceous, and medium spicy. A green salsa should, IMO, lift the flavor of a rich dish, and this salsa does. The spice level is medium, with the Serrano and/or jalapeño chili providing enough heat to feel authentic. You can pick your salsa direction, but for me, these two salsas complement each other...or maybe I just can't ever decide This morning I ordered steak and eggs. I ordered sides of home made corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and shredded cabbage as is my habit. Often at a Mexican restaurant, the breakfast steak is tough and only seasoned by the sauce or salsa. Not so here. The steak was beautifully seasoned, tasting of citrus, herbs, aromatics, and the right amount of salt (I'd guess it was marinated for a good long while), then cooked to perfect medium rare (my request) with crispy bits at the ends. The steak was sliced for plating along side two sunny side up eggs that also had crispy edges, and served with 1/2 an avocado, cilantro, and pickled red onion. The pico de gallo looked freshly prepared with a good mix of tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeño (without seeds so not spicy), and some lime. The shredded cabbage, typically raw and unseasoned, had some pico on it and maybe some lime. An extra nice touch for my breakfast veg. The tortillas were thick, hot, and a delicious accompaniment to this dish for stuffing, sopping, or both. It was SO good! I thought I would miss beans and rice because they are often served with this dish in other restaurants, but I did not. The $18 price point was the biggest surprise as they could have easily charged well over $20 for this dish. On past visits I've enjoyed à la cart tacos with Al pastor, asada, and chicken. Each protein was delicious, with the Al pastor shining brightest for me. This version of Al pastor was not as orange as is typical, but because of the crispy edges from the grill and a fantastic marinade, it is one of my favorite versions. The asada and chicken were both very flavorful and tender. Noticeable about these tacos is how hearty they are. Served in their awesome, house-made tortillas, filled with meat, topped with cilantro and chopped red onion, served with sliced radish and lime. These are some of my favorite tacos and as a So Cal native, I've been eating soft tacos for decades. I recommend topping with shredded cabbage and salsa for the perfect bite. While I am not vegan or vegetarian I often eat with friends and family with these diets. There are options to accommodate, including huevos rancheros, chilaquiles, vegan chorizo dishes, and more. This casual dining spot has captured my foodie heart. The menu isn't extensive, but it has a good variety of creative and familiar dishes to satisfy any palate. I can't recommend Sed Cocina highly enough and hope others will give this spot a try. read more

Brunch is one of my favorite experiences and I have explored many awesome spots in California & Oregon & I have to admit that this one is a GEM. Every employee made us feel welcomed and made us feel at home. The food was outstanding: we had the chilaquiles and the tree leches maiz waffle and both were stellar recommendations. The flavor profile and delicate care with which they make their food is obvious. To drink, we enjoyed a dirty horchata and a fresh made orange juice; both were stand outs and added to the unique homey experience. Finally, this place doesn't just talk the talk. They genuinely care about the community, want genuine feedback to improve and care about their costumers. I will be back for both my birthday as well as my mother's. The restaurant is in a small plaza so there's plenty of parking. I went on a Thursday morning so there wasn't that many people. So I thought it was a bit unnecessary to have the music as loud as it was. We didnt have much interaction with the staff but they were polite when we did. I ordered the maiz waffle and it was really good. The waffle was thick and fluffy and it paired well with the cream and berries. It came with potatoes (a lot of potatoes!), eggs, and my choice of turkey sausage. This meal was definitely big enough for at least two people to share! I also got the tres leches latte and it wasn't as sweet as i would have liked it to be. The coffee flavor is really strong and whatever syrup they put at the bottom didnt mix well with the rest of the drink. At least the size of the drink was worth the price ($7!). My mom got the sed toast and she really enjoyed it. I tasted the bread and meat and it was so good! The bread was toasted to perfection and the meat had a nice marinate to it. The whole experience was great. They had the friendliest and warmest service which really left a lasting impression. The food very yummy! Their dishes are traditional yet have a unique take that makes them something you can only get at SeD Cocina. For example, the breakfast burrito had a garlic sauce in it that made this burrito something I really loved. The chilaquiles were yummy. Red salsa is smokier and green is tangy. As for the coffees, my party tried a horchata latte and a mocha (I believe) and an iced cafe de olla. All were amazing. the Horchata latte blew my mind though. It was more than just an horchata with coffee. The flavors worked so well together and it's been the best version of an horchata and coffee drink that I have tried, Try this local business out. Definitely coming back to eat more. We were immediately sat down at around 10am but the place was getting packed. The menu doesn't have a huge amount of options but each unique. This place is a family tradition. We love the food and the service we receive from Everyone. It's like you're eating at your family's house. From the cafe de olla to the molletes. My two favorites are the Sed Toast and the Chilaquiles Verdes with Arrachera con huevos estrellados. When I want to change it up I'll have the OG Burrito de Carna asada. If you are craving something more on the sweeter side, I recommend you share with the table the Tres leches Maíz waffle. Sooooooo yummy. Come and treat yourself to breakfast or if you wake up a bit later they also have lunch options. Literally something for anyone. This place is a hidden gem! I love trying out new places for my birthday so we decided to try this place for breakfast and it was a great choice! Food was delicious! And the staff was friendly and always there to ask if we needed anything. Chilaquiles was on point! Getting half red and half green gave me the opportunity to try out both sauces and they were both so good! I love it when there's a slight kick but not too much to over power the entree. Some places make it way too spicy, but this place had it perfect!! The chips were still crunchy even with all the flavorful sauce they added. It was the best chilaquiles I've ever had! The huevos rancheros was really good too and had so much flavor. Definitely will be coming back again soon! Not in the best location as the shopping center is a bit run down and it looks a bit sketchy, so just be careful with parking and being aware of your surroundings. read more

The food was yummy and service was good. I ordered the chilaquiles. On the menu said $5 to add meat but on the bill it was $9 extra. Meat wasn't a lot but was flavorful. I didn't want beans so they offered more sour cream. My plate barely came with any so I had to remind the server. I did not want onions they still added it. My friends plate said it came with pickled onions but didn't. So she had to ask for that too. I ordered 24oz iced latte. 1/28/26 Sadly, they're sold out of the elote flan (reason we visited), awaiting delivery of local baker. But READ ON. This place would've been walking distance from our previous house. It's located in a non descript corner with other shops, you could easily miss it since it's not in a main road. Parking is free & ample. I found it on Yelp when looking for local brunch spots as my usual faves are closed by 2 pm. At 3 pm, only a couple of customers were dining. Hubby & I went in & sat as our server, Tiffany greeted us. She seems sweet & welcoming. The shop is fairly small which can accommodate about 40 people. Immediately, my eyes gravitated to the tres leches maiz waffle & it may be combined with eggs, potatoes & turkey sausage or bacon to make a meal. Hubby, of course, ordered his chorizo bowl. When I inquired about the maiz flan (read on Yelp reviews), Tiffany apologized that they're sold out, awaiting delivery from local baker. The food arrived in no time & my waffles smelled divinely captivating. These tasted so good, I like the somewhat coarse texture because of the corn. I tasted Hubby's chorizo bowl & it was really good, he loved it!! As we were savoring our delicious meals, I glanced at one lady carrying large foil trays into the restaurant & my heart skipped a beat.... Could it be the... oh yes it was!!! I'm always looking for a new breakfast spot to enjoy with mom. Social media recommended this spot. The location inside looks clean. We ordered the menudo. Meat pieces were too big. They need to cut them smaller & It hardly had any hominy. Aside from this, the menudo had good flavor. For me that was disappointing was the service. They only had one person & one person cleaning tables. Was going to order French toast but after sitting for over 10 minutes to get our waitress to come over, I finally just asked the person cleaning tables for containers for our leftovers & the bill. My sister had tried this place and told us rave reviews about the food. So we had to try it. I dunno if it was an off day or not but service was not great. We came on a Sunday after around 1... we tried giving the benefit of the doubt that they are busy and it is a small place. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated and at least the host was nice enough to update us about our table. When our table was finally ready and We were seated it took about 10 minutes for someone to actually come and greet us and take our order. We were greeted and then we were told she would come back but it took another 10 minutes before she came back and took our order. We were a party of 3 and all asked for water and cafe de olla. We ordered 2 chorizo bowls, a side of churro pancakes and a dirty burrito with Birria. Another 10 minutes later we had no water and no cafe de olla. My husband had to get up and physically ask for our drinks. We got the cafe de olla but never got our waters. I totally understand that it is a mom and pop place and it was busy but nobody checked on us until our food arrived. The two chorizo bowls arrived first and then another 10 minutes passed and finally my burrito came. They forgot our churro pancakes and we had to again ask for it and then that took another 10 minutes and by then we were getting full and almost done with our food . No one checked on us until we were the last few tables left in the restaurant and we asked for the check. And she still had the nerve to cleans up 3 other tables before giving us the check. The food was good. The tortillas tasted fresh and handmade. They don't take your phone number down, they just call your name out. The called me earlier than the 45 minutes and I was crossed out from the list. My family came here for breakfast and we were in awe at how great the food was! The Chilaquiles doesn't come with asada, but I added it and it made the meal 10 million times more amazing ! Absolutely worth it! My boyfriend also really enjoyed his food, and even my daughter loved the steak and eggs with avocado, which says a lot. The service was incredible, and the ambience was just as amazing. The horchata tasted so fresh and delicious, and they seriously have the biggest mimosa on the whole planet! Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday on a Friday morning, and there was no wait. The space is small with limited indoor seating and no outdoor seating. Everything on the menu looked so good--it was honestly hard to decide. I ended up getting the chilaquiles with steak, with half green and half red sauce. It wasn't spicy at all (which I loved), but the flavor was amazing. They also bring salsas to the table, so you can add heat if you want. My husband got the chilaquiles with green sauce and really enjoyed them, but said next time he'd go for the half red and half green like mine. My mom ordered the chile relleno burrito--she said it tasted good, but it wasn't what she expected since the chile relleno seemed to be diced and mixed inside rather than whole. For drinks, I ordered the dirty horchata. If you enjoy a strong coffee flavor, I'd definitely recommend it--it had a great balance and wasn't overly sweet. My husband got a regular horchata as well. I had plenty of leftovers and even enjoyed them for breakfast the next day. Overall, everything was delicious. I would definitely come back and recommend this spot to others. I tried this place for the first time, and I wasn't too impressed with the service. The food was fantastic, honestly 10/10 the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros were very delicious. The service however was lacking severely. When we walked in, we weren't greeted by anyone, they sat us as a dirty table when there were quite a few that were clean that they could have sat us at. A couple more people came in after we did and they were greeted and their orders were taken and put out much faster than ours was. I probably wouldn't go back honestly. Afte After a fun night out with friends, my wife and I needed some good food to cure our mild hangovers. She was craving a bean and cheese burrito and a bowl of menudo, while I had my heart set on the chilaquiles. We ordered online, picked everything up in about 30 minutes, and headed home. After one bite of the bean and cheese burrito, we both looked at each other and said, "Oh my God!" I'm usually not a big fan of bean and cheese burritos, but SeD completely changed my mind. It was packed with incredible flavor. My wife also loved her menudo. We were missing the usual onion, cilantro, and oregano on the side, but I'm not sure if I overlooked that option when ordering. It worked out because I shared some of the cilantro and onion from my chilaquiles. Speaking of the chilaquiles, they were exactly what I was craving. The tortilla chips had a great corn flavor, the green salsa was savory and delicious, and the meat added even more flavor. My only regret was not ordering extra eggs! It's a small spot in Upland, but the staff were hustling to keep up with the steady stream of orders. Even though they were busy, everyone was friendly and got me in and out quickly. After today, SeD Cocina has officially become our new favorite spot! read more

It was our first time eating at SeD Cocina and it was delicious! My daughter treated me to breakfast and we decided to try a new place. We were not disappointed. We were greeted right away as we entered. Our server was kind, attentive and made great recommendations. I had the chilaquiles in green salsa. My daughter had the chorizo burrito bowl. Both tasted great! We also had their cafe de olla, but instead of hot, we tried it iced. Also yummy Overall, our experience was great from the food to the hospitality and the price. The skirt of grilled cheese was a great albeit excessive addition and honestly it never needed the steak to be a hit. All around great morsel of food.
