I have not been to a Black Angus in so long and this was my first time at this one which is located in the city of Montclair. Our server was nice and we got seated right away. I ordered an iced tea, and then came the tasty bread with butter. Yum! Don't skip off on that part. I also ordered a filet with two lobster tails and that was super filling. You get two sides with the entree and I picked a garden salad and a regular baked potato which comes with butter, sour cream, and chives. Food is good, service is good but the hostess when we arrive should consider customers needs. Both me and my mom have bad knees, we requested a booth but she sent us to the bar area, lots of steps to get there or the long way which we had to take. It was also extremely hot and there were four of us , nothing really fit on our small table. We went out for Mother's Day dinner on Saturday night to celebrate with my mom. Making reservations was easy, and there was plenty of parking. We only waited about five minutes before being seated in one of their big, comfy booths. They had some great Mother's Day specials, and it looks like they offer special deals regularly. We ordered the steak and lobster as part of their "two for" deal, which included an appetizer, entrées with two sides, and dessert. The steak was delicious, though the sides were just okay. Still, the deal was definitely worth the price. Service was fine--not bad, but the food did take a while to come out. Overall, we had a nice dinner and a pleasant experience celebrating the occasion. read more

Black Angus Steakhouse (Montclair) is phenomenal. The "Dinner for 2" (aka: The Campfire Feast - $69) offers a tremendous amount of succulent, satisfying dishes. Tender, juicy Prime Rib slathered with creamy horseradish hits just right; hefty appetizer sampler (i.e. plump shrimp, freshly baked loaded potato skins, crisp zucchini, and lightly spiced chicken tenders) leaves a satisfied grin; and the fresh, refreshing strawberry cheesecake elicited a happy sigh. The Campfire Feast is customizable, generously portioned, and the renowned option of Black Angus Steakhouse. My family and I only order the Campfire Feast because it's easily the best choice. I will attach a photo of the Campfire Feast menu to this review. (Quick Tips: I heavily recommend upgrading the starter/appetizer to the Wagon Wheel Sampler; it's an additional $6, but it provides a lot more delicious food. And I recommend downloading the Black Angus App; it consistently gifts "Campfire Feast Reward" discounts in the My Account section.) Coupled with this feast, Black Angus Steakhouse (Montclair) even plays the coveted Spectrum Sports Net+ channel on their 10 flat screen TVs. That's live Lakers Basketball content! My family and I had a wondrous, joyful time as we feasted. We arrived at Black Angus Steakhouse (Montclair) on Wednesday, around 3:30PM. This huge, well-ventilated, very clean location was not busy. The ambiance is very cozy and business casual. We requested the section near the TVs, and they quickly accommodated us. We had no wait. Our waitress (Estefany) is professional, welcoming, and helpful. Estefany worked hard to create a lovely dining atmosphere, and she regularly checked in and assisted us. As mentioned prior, the Campfire Feast is bountiful and extremely delicious. Receipt mentioned a Chef Daniel R. Bravo, Chef!! The Campfire Feast is a three-course-meal (includes appetizer, main entree, and dessert). For starter/appetizer, I selected the Wagon Wheel Sample (additional $6). For entree, I chose the Prime Rib 12oz - Medium Rare (additional $6). I always request fresh horse radish and creamy horse radish, so I can mix them together. For the sidekicks/sides, I selected the peppery, thick Loaded Baked Potato Soup and a Rice Pilaf for my entree. For dessert, I chose the Cheesecake. I was genuinely blown away with the high-quality cheesecake. It's adorned with fresh juicy strawberries. In 2024, Black Angus had partnered with Cheesecake Factory, and this superb cheesecake truly reflected it. YUM! Regarding wait times, we appreciated how we never felt rushed. The appetizer arrived in 11 minutes. My soup arrived in 18 minutes. The main entrees arrived in 38 minutes. And the dessert arrived timely after sharing our choices. It's a well-paced feast. Overall, Black Angus Steakhouse (Montclair) deserves so much love and attention. The deals are phenomenal. The food is cooked extremely well. And the service shines brightly. First, the food was excellent and cooked very well. The pickup service at Montclair was awful. We placed a pickup order at 10:00 am for a 5:00 pm pickup. When we arrived they initially claimed they had not received the order. When we showed a copy of the confirmation, their story change to that "they" had not sent it to the kitchen. That they were sending it then and it would be ready in 25 minutes and THEY WOULD CALL OUR CELL. When we checked, 30 minutes later, it was ready but she'd "been busy" so hadn't called. No apology, no expression of contrition of any kind. their dismissal of the customer was off-putting at best. read more

Unfortunately, it took a solid 10-15 minutes to even be ACKNOWLEDGED, even though several servers (and what appeared to be a manager) walked by us, several times. Once we ordered, our food and drinks were brought out within a reasonable amount of time. The steaks were cooked PERFECTLY medium-rare, as requested. The salad was really good, as well. Unfortunately, the food runner never brought out the ranch dressing that *she suggested* (for my fries) and our server never came back to check on us. Once we were done eating, he walked by and saw my husband's glass was (and had been for 90% of our visit) completely empty and asked what it was. We assumed he was going to be right back with a refill...nope. He disappeared for another 5+ minutes and walked past us, empty handed. We finally flagged him down and asked for boxes and our check.
