    Fries and seafood boil bag

First time visiting this seafood boil spot and I'll be honest I was pretty skeptical. Typically I visit seafood boil places that aren't connected to a chain , and are standalone establishments. This place has only inside seating (about 30-40 tables roughly , with 10-15ish of them being booths). I would have preferred and option for outside seating , but this spot didn't have that. Staff is friendly and very attentive. We were seated almost as soon as we walked in , this was on a Saturday around 3:00pm. Menu was simple to read and provided many different options for however you wanted your boil without any confusion. Menu options were fairly priced , I'd say. Shrimp was $19.99 per pound and there were options for head on or head off (additional $2). For the snow crab, it's always market price and that day it was on the pricier side of $51 per pound (ouch) , but makes sense. We didn't get any other types of seafood but there were bundles that are offered with smaller seafood types (mussels, crawfish, shrimp and clams (I think), lol. The staff provided bibs, gloves and necessary tools for crab cutting. Food: we purchased fries as an appetizer and they were freaking delicious ! Hands down, the best fries I've had in a long time . I pretty much ate the whole basket smh, before my boil even got to me. I believe they use the mild Cajun spice for the fries and also they are crispy and soft , providing fry lovers with something to talk about for sure. And also not that expensive and a huge portion served for $7 (this a deal for deals). For my boil I ate the shrimp , added corn , potatoes and andouille sausage, with Cajun spicy flavor. I had no complaints , the flavor was there and complimented my purchased food items very well. My daughter opted for all the flavors , as she doesn't like spicy and it also tasted great with her shrimp , crab and corn. No complaints there. Entertainment : the tartar btw does have several tvs around , and also music is up to date playing hits from 90's and up. It was a little too loud , as you had to pretty much talk over the music to hear whomever from across the table, but again, I like to choose outside seating to avoid this lol. Bathroom is clean and shared , with individual restrooms with doors (no stalls). Parking: lot is connected with other establishments and there were plenty of spaces to park. I personally had a good experience , however if others don't, I can understand because I did witness a few folks who were getting seated after us and it did take a while for staff to get to them, so organization/communication would be better with that, but that's about it.

I found this place on Yelp and came in not knowing much about the menu. Dante was incredibly helpful, friendly, and patient. He took the time to explain the menu and answer all of our questions, which made the experience even better. The food was excellent, and the shrimp was especially delicious! Great customer service and great food are hard to beat. Highly recommend this spot, and a special thank you to Dante for making our visit so enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!

First decent seafood boil place i've tried outside of boiling crab. Spacious restaurant with multiple tables. PARKING: located in shopping plaza, plenty of parking FOOD: ordered cajun fries, fish tacos, & seafood boil. in my bag i got the shrimp, clams in medium spice, kickin' style. waiter made me doubt my spice capabilities because he said a lot of customers say spicy level is spicy... but to be honest it's nothing that crazy. i would say kickin crab is less spicy than boiling crab for sure. my friends enjoyed their boils & fish tacos as well. overall, i do like boiling crab more but if you're restrained by driving distance (i dont think there is a boiling crab near here) or don't wanna wait long, this place will scratch that seafood boil itch.

Here is potato corn, and some crab that my son was eating. That sauce is the mild on the side.

We had such a wonderful evening dining here as a family. My husband, our son, and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and served with a genuine sense of hospitality. We'd like to give four-star kudos to the restaurant overall. If there were ever a star to be taken off, it would be for a couple of small details. Personally, I prefer my wine in a proper glass rather than a plastic cup--it helps elevate the dining experience. The paper plates and boat-style trays, along with plastic cutlery, took a little away from the otherwise excellent presentation. We also asked for an extra set of crab utensils so our son could have his own, but those never arrived. That said, the restaurant was very busy, and it was clear that the staff were doing their best to keep up with the crowd. Service was patient, informative, and friendly throughout. Special kudos to our server, Christopher, who showed great patience and knowledge while juggling a hectic evening. He made us feel taken care of despite the rush. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be going back

This location is a bit closer than the Chino Hills one but sadly i'll most likely stick to the Chino Hills location. For some reason this boil gave me stomach issues and made my skin all red. Never had any issues at the other Kickin Crab location. At least the service was attentive and seated us fast and the space is big and can accommodate large parties.

Amazing service!!! I love coming here, and the food is THE BEST. I can't think of any other spot that I'd want more than this place when im in the mood for seafood boil! The staff is always on top of it, friendly and welcoming. And the food is always fresh and delicious love ittt.

The style, decor, music and ambiance was warm and inviting. The service was excellent, everyone was nice, friendly and worked well as a unit. Let's get to the food... I'll start by saying yes, yes and yes. From the appetizers to the desert.. spot on! To start we had cocktails. My wife had the Bayou Berry Smash, and I went with the Pecan Hips Old Fashion. The bartender did his thing on those cocktails. For the appetizer we chose Craw Fish Pies. The crust was buttery and flaky. There was just enough filling to get some in every bite. For the main courses, she chose the Sautéed Quater Catfish. She substituted the sauteed catfish for fried. The fish is served over a satuee of shrimp, crab, creole rice and ratatouille. It was exceptional! It was a big portion, but she ate every bit of it. Literally, no notes. I ordered the Crawfish St. Charles. A whole perfectly fried catfish filet on a bed of etouffée. The plating was beautiful and creative. There was a crawfish peeking through the curled end of the filet, which was fried to perfection. It was succulent, hot, crunchy, and juicy. That d!%# crawfish etouffée had me looking for a granny to walk out of the kitchen. It was sooo good, the perfect amount of spice and herbs, balanced with the gravy and crawfish and was perfect. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice. I had to try it, and it didn't disappoint. Once again they knocked it out of the park. The spice level, the texture of the beans and that smokey sausage hit the mark. To finish ourselves off we had the Croissant Beignets. All I can say is little pillows of heaven! We will most definitely pay them another visit. Pro Tip.. make sure you order the sausage with your red beans and Rice, the order doesn't come with it.

The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

HOUSE PAN ROAST It tasted exactly what was expected. A creamy tomato soup consistency and flavor. Got level 2 or 3 for spice level. I wanted more of that creamy flavor, not spice. Any higher than 3 would be Tabasco level spice and up. Deliciously filled with shrimp, chopped scallops, small crab meat. I could taste the crab meat, which was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The scoop of jasmine rice with the creamy pan roast was comfort on another level. Got the small size, but it is enough for me. I do wish there were more shrimp and scallops and crab in the pan roast. I felt the scallops and crab were chopped too small and wished there was a bit more. But still I enjoyed the pan roast and would get it again. As an appetizer and accompaniment to the house pan roast, they bring a basket with three sliced breads and a side of butter. It's a light, soft bread with a bit of sour flavor. Didn't like it. Hey Jackson, Instead…read moreof giving me an imaginary prize for being relentless, I would much rather appreciate your business taking accountability for the really poor service I had to experience in order to get a basic refund as a result of a mistake that was clearly from your restaurant. I can definitely be more upfront about my dietary needs moving forward when ordering, but even your employee admitted over the phone that chicken is not automatically part of the item that I ordered. If your staff wanted to add chicken to an item that should be seafood only, perhaps they should have asked if I was okay with that. After communicating with your employee about my concerns, I realized that the mistake on the food was secondary compared to the horrendous service I experienced when I shared my concerns. In your reply, you failed to mention anything regarding customer service that I mentioned, so let me say these facts again. I was hung up on several times over the phone, ignored multiple times when I showed up in person the next day, pressured to sign a claims release in order to get the refund, then was told I was an inconvenience to your business. Another fact is I lost my appetite after tasting your food yet was essentially called a liar when I came in the next day because I didn't appear sick to your employee. I cannot believe that is how your employee was allowed to treat a customer and I honestly hope you had a serious conversation with them. For the record, I was signed out of my main account for several months and did leave a review on a temporary account. Once I gained access to my main account, the review on my temporary account got deleted because that account got deleted. I operate on only one account and needed to re-write any reviews that got deleted. Looks like someone reported my review for your business, so I did revise it to better follow yelp's guidelines. Therefore, it is absolutely not an exact duplicate of the previous review. The real impact here is not only the loss of appetite, but also how I was treated after I raised concerns. It really was one of the most horrendous experience with restaurant staff. I will never again feel comfortable stepping inside your restaurant that is careless enough to scoop an item that was already made with chicken in it instead of making a fresh one with only seafood then try to pressure a customer to sign a claims release to protect yourselves. Nice try, but I'm not falling for that and neither should anyone else.

Okay, I want to make it clear that I am not her to frivolously review a neighborhood restaurant…read more Small businesses are the backbone of our country, specially important and black, woman and minority owned. So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer.
