For years, we've never had any major issues with Kickin' Crab. And on the rare occasion something wasn't right, they always made it right for us. Our usual order is 1lb of shrimp and 1lb of mussels, and we've always been happy with it. This time, we decided to try the Combo #2 because we wanted to add crab legs. We ordered three combo bags, each with shrimp, mussels, and crab legs. Unfortunately, it didn't feel like there was anywhere close to 1lb each of shrimp and mussels in the bags. I can't prove it, so I can only share our experience, but it honestly felt like there were fewer than 15 shrimp in the bag. For the first time ever, we finished our meal and were still hungry afterward. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend ordering the combo bag. Not only did it seem like there was significantly less food, but with all the ingredients piled together, some items ended up overcooked. We were really disappointed because we've had consistently good experiences with multiple locations here over the years. Hopefully this was just an off day, but we'll be sticking with ordering the seafood separately next time. read more

My family and I ordered an appetizer and our entrées. The appetizer and 1 entree was the only food that ever arrived. We were assured by our waiter twice that our meals were almost ready and would be coming out shortly. Because we trusted what we were told, we did not continue asking where our food was. As we waited, every table that was seated after us received their meals while we sat there with nothing but our empty appetizer plate. After an unreasonable amount of time had passed, I finally went to ask about our order. Once again, I was told our food was coming. We eventually decided we had waited long enough and chose to leave. We paid for the food we had received, and while paying, I overheard someone say, "If they haven't cooked B4's food, then they're not staying." It was at that moment we were informed that our order had never even been placed due to a "system error." The issue isn't just the system error mistakes happen. The issue is that we were repeatedly assured our food was on its way when it wasn't, we watched every table around us get served before us, and no one realized our order had been forgotten until we decided to leave. That level of poor communication and lack of accountability turned what could have been an honest mistake into an extremely disappointing experience. read more

Food quality is consistent with the Chino Hills location. Noah, who was an excellent server at that location, is at this location now and his service is just as great. (Not sure if he's the manager now or a different person, but every server here is polite and efficient). We get the kickin combo #1, kickin style, mild with shrimp and mussels; fried oysters; garlic noodles. I feel like the sausages at this location are bigger compared to CH. Food comes out reasonably fast. Restrooms are always clean. There are sinks outside to wash your hands as well. read more

Honestly I'm a Kickin crab fan and I haven't gone to Boiling Crab or anywhere in many years. I loved their sauce and quality of frozen crawfish, but this is probably going to be our last time visiting here. We got food from here a total of 3 times as of recently. Seafood boils are not cheap but its a great celebratory meal so my family and I enjoy getting food here. The first time, our food came with a tiny amount of sauce. There were 4 of us trying to take turns dipping in whatever sauce that was available. The second time, our crawfish came without sauce. It was just boiled seafood and they forgot to add sauce. Today we got more food and the sauce looked and tasted like salt WATER. The sauce used to be slushy, full of spice and seasoning, and full of garlic. This was clearly watered down and I'm honestly a little irritated because this is the 3rd time they've screwed up. First time visiting this seafood boil spot and I'll be honest I was pretty skeptical. Typically I visit seafood boil places that aren't connected to a chain , and are standalone establishments. This place has only inside seating (about 30-40 tables roughly , with 10-15ish of them being booths). I would have preferred and option for outside seating , but this spot didn't have that. Staff is friendly and very attentive. We were seated almost as soon as we walked in , this was on a Saturday around 3:00pm. Menu was simple to read and provided many different options for however you wanted your boil without any confusion. Menu options were fairly priced , I'd say. Shrimp was $19.99 per pound and there were options for head on or head off (additional $2). For the snow crab, it's always market price and that day it was on the pricier side of $51 per pound (ouch) , but makes sense. We didn't get any other types of seafood but there were bundles that are offered with smaller seafood types (mussels, crawfish, shrimp and clams (I think), lol. The staff provided bibs, gloves and necessary tools for crab cutting. Food: we purchased fries as an appetizer and they were freaking delicious ! Hands down, the best fries I've had in a long time . I pretty much ate the whole basket smh, before my boil even got to me. I believe they use the mild Cajun spice for the fries and also they are crispy and soft , providing fry lovers with something to talk about for sure. And also not that expensive and a huge portion served for $7 (this a deal for deals). For my boil I ate the shrimp , added corn , potatoes and andouille sausage, with Cajun spicy flavor. I had no complaints , the flavor was there and complimented my purchased food items very well. My daughter opted for all the flavors , as she doesn't like spicy and it also tasted great with her shrimp , crab and corn. No complaints there. Entertainment : the tartar btw does have several tvs around , and also music is up to date playing hits from 90's and up. It was a little too loud , as you had to pretty much talk over the music to hear whomever from across the table, but again, I like to choose outside seating to avoid this lol. Bathroom is clean and shared , with individual restrooms with doors (no stalls). Parking: lot is connected with other establishments and there were plenty of spaces to park. I personally had a good experience , however if others don't, I can understand because I did witness a few folks who were getting seated after us and it did take a while for staff to get to them, so organization/communication would be better with that, but that's about it. read more

I found this place on Yelp and came in not knowing much about the menu. Dante was incredibly helpful, friendly, and patient. He took the time to explain the menu and answer all of our questions, which made the experience even better. The food was excellent, and the shrimp was especially delicious! PARKING: located in shopping plaza, plenty of parking FOOD: ordered cajun fries, fish tacos, & seafood boil. in my bag i got the shrimp, clams in medium spice, kickin' style. waiter made me doubt my spice capabilities because he said a lot of customers say spicy level is spicy... but to be honest it's nothing that crazy. i would say kickin crab is less spicy than boiling crab for sure. my friends enjoyed their boils & fish tacos as well. overall, i do like boiling crab more but if you're restrained by driving distance (i dont think there is a boiling crab near here) or don't wanna wait long, this place will scratch that seafood boil itch. read more

We had such a wonderful evening dining here as a family. My husband, our son, and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and served with a genuine sense of hospitality. We'd like to give four-star kudos to the restaurant overall. If there were ever a star to be taken off, it would be for a couple of small details. Personally, I prefer my wine in a proper glass rather than a plastic cup--it helps elevate the dining experience. The paper plates and boat-style trays, along with plastic cutlery, took a little away from the otherwise excellent presentation. We also asked for an extra set of crab utensils so our son could have his own, but those never arrived. That said, the restaurant was very busy, and it was clear that the staff were doing their best to keep up with the crowd. Service was patient, informative, and friendly throughout. Special kudos to our server, Christopher, who showed great patience and knowledge while juggling a hectic evening. He made us feel taken care of despite the rush. The food at Shrimp and chicken tender back was tasty and full of flavor. I got Medium and it was pretty spicy which was fine but woah, def had a kick. Everything we ordered came out pretty quick and was well prepared. The service was good, the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The only disappointment was that they were out of gumbo, no fried shrimp option or negra modelo. I'd say it's a bit pricey since I only got a basket, 1lb of shrimp and 1 beer and it was $59. This location is a bit closer than the Chino Hills one but sadly i'll most likely stick to the Chino Hills location. For some reason this boil gave me stomach issues and made my skin all red. They have lobster, mussels, crawfish, and clams, in addition to the regular items like snow crab, sausage, potatoes, and eggs. Their prices are average compared to several similar places. The service is okay; they get your order out fast and get it right. You do need to make an effort to get their attention from time to time. The place is smaller than most, but plenty of room is between chairs and tables. It can get a little noisy, but that's part of the fun of these places.
