First of all, the food and chicken from this place are amazing. I order takeout from here at least once a week, and what really makes this place stand out for me are the sauces, the yellow and green sauces are incredible! Unfortunately, on several occasions, I've either received only two sauces for an entire chicken or no sauces at all. I'll admit, it's partly my fault for not checking the bag before leaving, so I've now made it a rule to double check every order before I go. Today, I ordered a whole chicken and a double salad. When I picked up my order, I noticed there were several containers of sauce in the bag, so I felt the containers and assumed there was a mix of salad dressing and the yellow and green sauces. I didn't open the bag to check. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized that all the containers were salad dressings and there wasn't a single yellow or green sauce for the chicken. 7 salad dressing containers. The food itself is great, which is why I keep coming back. This review is really for the young staff working there, please slow down for a second and double check the orders before handing them to customers. Missing sauces might seem like a small thing, but when they're one of the best parts of the meal, it makes a big difference. Hopefully, this helps prevent it from happening to other customers. The mostrito plate was a quarter of their peruvian rotisserie chicken (choice of white/dark meat), chaufa (peruvian fried rice) and fries. The fried rice was a little boring but the chicken was good. I really liked their lomo saltado. The beef was SO tender and the sauce was so flavorful. The fries tasted better stir fried in with the lomo saltado than on the side with the rotisserie chicken. They aren't your typical Peruvian restaurant, the bare essential menu but some the favorite authentic dishes! They only have about a handful of items in the menu but all tasty. It's located in the colonies shopping center next to "DICK's sporting goods." It's a small restaurant with about 7 self-seating tables. We have done dine-in and take out and flavor just as good for the lomo saltado. If you're not familiar, it's a dish mixed fries, steak, tomatoes, and onions, in a very flavorful sauce; authentic to the culture. My husband and I have eaten at Picante Peru in Ontario. They told us about LA28 opening in Upland where Z Pizza used to be, next to Starbucks. Well they finally opened and my husband and I came in on Saturday 8/30. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It's more casual where you order first and take a seat. My husband got the 1/4 chicken with 2 sides and I got the Mostrito. The maracuyá (passion fruit) drink is so yummy. Crispy seasoned skin, juicy meat that you can pull apart with just a plastic fork and amazing sauces. We both demolished our meals. Prices are decent too. 100% recommend. Came here on a Saturday night to pick up food. We both got a Loco taco. I got mine without onion. He got his with a fried egg on top. We ordered the passionfruit drink and one of their cookies to go. Total was about $55. The food did not take very long at all and we went straight home to enjoy our dinner. That greens all said they use is spicy so for those of you that aren't big on it, beware. My sister and I were craving for some Peruvian Food. Peruvian Food will always have a special place in my heart. We found one Yelp called, LAa28 in Upland and decided to go. They are located off the 210fwy in Upland, at the shopping center where Carl's Jr and Ono Hawaiian BBQ is.. When we arrived there was a sign that said that it was a soft opening. We got inside and the interior was very colorful and the visuals on the wall were very cool in my opinion. I looked at their menu and ordered a Lomo Saltado w/Fried Egg and a Large Chicha Morada. The Lomo Saltado comes with: Wok-tossed over high flames with juicy beef, onions, tomatoes: sautéed together. Served with white rice and fries. After we ordered, went outside to take a seat. Waited a couple of minutes for our order to be ready and it arrived. The one thing that stood out was the size of the plate and that it was hot and could tell that it was freshly prepared. Couldn't wait to try and it did not disappoint. This Lomo Saltado in my personal opinion was one of the best I have ever had. Portions on the plate in my opinion, was very generous. The beef texture was very tender and had flavor from the marinade; possibly Filet Mignon. The fried egg that I ordered was amazing. This was very first time I ordered an egg on a Lomo Saltado and it was so delicious. Complemented everything on the dish and I highly recommend it to try; if you like egg. The Chicha Morada was refreshing and good. My overall experience was great and the portions and the Lomo Saltado was excellent. In my personal opinion, I would definitely recommend La28 if you want to try really good Peruvian Food and if you are in the Upland area. The food might be good, but the service is an absolute disaster. I tried calling in an order and was told to "wait five minutes," even though it would've taken seconds to take it. Meanwhile, I could clearly hear the employee helping other customers and taking walk in orders. After being ignored on the phone, I gave up and drove over--big mistake. In person, it somehow got worse. The cashier, Daniela, has zero sense of urgency, no ability to multitask, and clearly no understanding of basic customer service. I stood at the counter being completely ignored while she went about her business, after again waiting over 5 minutes finally she takes my order, it wasn't even that busy. Then comes the attitude. I asked for extra sauce and was met with a rude response about having to pay extra. After spending nearly $70 on THREE items, that level of pettiness--on top of everything else--is ridiculous. This place has decent food, but the service is so bad it completely ruins the experience. The green sauce is spot on from what I've eaten in both Peru itself, and in South Florida, which has a ton of authentic Peruvian restaurants like this. The only thing a bit lacking is the salad, which is just a bunch of sad-looking iceberg lettuce, "crunchy water" as one of my college professors put it.
