Their yuca fries were crispy and delicious, and both their green and yellow aji sauces were amazing (I couldn't pick a favorite!). Customer service was warm and friendly, and the space feels inviting. There's a good amount of seating inside for the smaller spot, plus I love that they have a patio option for outdoor dining. Small location in Upland, I believe it used to be a Z Pizza. The menu offers rotisserie chicken, Lomo saltado, fries with sausage and a few sides. I ordered the tequeños (fried wonton wrapper filled with rotisserie chicken) and half chicken plate with fries and salad. The total came out to $34, $19.99 for half chicken plate and $9.95 for the tequeños which is pretty outrageous. Upon ordering the chicken plate I asked if I could substitute the fries for yucca fries and was told no but I could change the order and pay $7.95 which is the price of the yucca fries. The order came with a green chimichurri style sauce, a yellow sauce and a lighter sauce without an explanation of which sauce went with what. The tequeños were a 5 out of 10 as the chicken was extremely dry and the wonton wrappers were very oily; you do get about a dozen. The salad was a good size and came with shredded carrots, cucumber and tomato, unfortunately I did not know which sauce was the dressing. Chicken is over priced at $19.99 for half a chicken and nothing special and pretty dry. I'd take a while Costco chicken over this any day. The French fries were the best part of the meal, fresh thicker cut and fried perfectly. There's about 6-8 small tables and chair and the kitchen is wide open for you to see all the food being cooked and packed. read more

Used to be my to go for the weekends. I started noticing the changes after 2 months of opening. Containers changed for cheap ones , they staring charging for extra sauce even though you spend over $80 bucks and recently they don't "allow" you to pick your sides. If you want 2 sides of fries they said you have to pay extra. Never have I ever been told that at any Peruvian restaurant. Also when you call, they answer with a Hello? I was craving Peruvian rotisserie chicken, and I found one on campus, in a new restaurant, that was very close to home. I ordered half a chicken and a side of yucca. Honestly, I will go to another Peruvian or Mexican one near RC. The chicken has no Peruvian rotisserie flavor, just a mild smoky flavor. The fries and salad were decent. I came on Friday (11/28) after being in the area for some Black Friday shopping, and have been craving Peruvian food for a hot minute. This is at the perfect spot of all the other restaurants and shopping. I came in to order, and I wish I got her name for the young lady at the front was awesome. I cannot put into words how delicious this place is! I've only been there two times, and both times I just kept making sounds of delight with every mouthful. My daughter was like, "Oh my gosh, Mom, relax! " It started with the fried plantains. I have had fried plantains from different places and also homemade, but I don't know what it is about the perfect preparation of the plantains at La28, but my mouth is watering just thinking about them. They are warm with a little bit of crisp on the outside and they are perfectly seasoned. The minute I tried their food, I knew it was my duty to tell more people about this little place, so that it can stay in business forever. We have had the roasted chicken, Lomo Saltado, and the Arroz Chaufa. All of which are culinary perfections. I had to tell the cooks that they are magicians. I'm sure I embarrassed my daughter because I told them that they must put some sort of magic in the food because it did something to me that made me feel like every mouthful was worth every dollar and every calorie spent. We just went there yesterday again, but as I write this review, i feel like I need to make another trip there after work today.
