I had the pleasure of dining at this small, family-owned Peruvian restaurant yesterday, and it was a gem! The parking lot is behind the restaurant, and the entryway is a bit narrow, so I'd recommend bringing a smaller car if you can. We arrived just as a party of 10 walked in, and the waitress was thoughtful as she suggested we order before they did to make sure we'd get our food in time. We started with the empanadas (beef and spinach) that the waitress recommended, and they did not disappoint. The green sauce they came with has a nice kick. It was spicy but perfectly balanced. So good that I asked for another to go with my meal. They were attentive and friendly. It almost felt like I was eating at their family dinner table. I recommend this spot if you're craving homemade Peruvian food!

Really great Peruvian food! The restaurant is clean, spacious, and perfect for bringing the whole family to enjoy amazing food and good conversation. The service was excellent, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. Don't forget to save room for dessert, it's worth it!

: ( Again So disappointing ...it's been about 5 years that I have not been at this InkaTrails in Claremont! last time I was here, I wasn't satisfied Today, I was craving for Peruvian food. So I thought I give it another chance... BTW I am Peruvian, and I know how Peruvian Food tastes. - To begin with the Fish ceviche was kind of fishy tasting and locked of flavor. - The pieces of fish needed to be cut thinner not like big chunks. - I don't know if they only use fresh lemons or if they mix some other liquid for the ceviche juice... because the Ceviche juice it was watery and pretty citric not the crispy scent of fresh lemons that you experience at other Peruvian restaurants, - The red Rocoto sauce was runny & watery, same with the green sauce. I've never seen it so watery. - My husband's Lomo Saltado had zero flamed flavor for a "Peruvian Lomo Saltado" flaming the meat as you cook it is a key ingredient for flavor! - The beef was not tender, making it hard to chew & was cut in thin small pieces. - The potato fries were half raw and half cooked, kind of saggy - No wonder why on a Thursday around 6:30 PM when I walked in the restaurant to pick up my food, the Restaurant was empty there was only one tourist couple the rest of the tables were empty. Please if you want to eat Peruvian food go somewhere else because Peruvian food is famous for its unique bold taste full of flavor it keeps you craving for more, and is not supposed to taste like this pretty disappointing.

I was craving for Lomo Saltado and Inka Trails showed up on yelp. The restaurant is situated between a gas station and a bigger strip mall complex. The restaurant has its own parking lot in the rear. It was some what hard to find the restaurant since it was hidden between the gas station and the italian restaurant in the bigger complex. The interior has a nice decor. The color of the painted walls were unqiue and suits the interior concept. However, the lomo saltado was disappointing. The beef was small thin strips and wasnt juicy nor as tender as other lomo saltado dishes that i had before. The server forgot to bring the green sauce and I had to ask for it. Speaking of the green sauce, it was watery and not as pungent as other green sauce that i had before. There was no free bread when waiting for your main entree to be served. I didn't order any other dishes, so i cant give an opinion there. If you want lomo saltado, look elsewhere.

I've been coming here on and off for almost 20 years. It used to be the only Peruvian restaurant around this area. There are a few more now, but it's still one of the better ones. They updated their interior over the years and have managed to keep the food quality relatively constant, which is not easy. The aguadito soup is one of my go-tos and great soul food for cold days. The lomo saltado is ok. The bistec on the tallarin verde looks a bit grey, but the flavor and texture are good. Service is a bit sluggish, but that seems to be a theme at other Peruvian restaurants as well. Overall, an ok experience.

The food is amazing! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We had a birthday celebration with 9 seniors attending. We all enjoy Peruvian fare. This was our second time there and the farthest we ever drive for our get together. There was only 1 waitress working but she was attentive and gracious.

Delicious food, good fast service, and a unique cozy interior ! 10/10 First time having Peruvian food and it was truly a great experience. We tried the yuca a la huancaina & calamari appetizers. The waitress recommended how to eat the yuca with the lettuce too and we loved it. I tried the vegetarian tallarin verde & my friends had the tacu tacu con lomito Al jugo. We also had flan for dessert. We were fighting to finish every morsel I also had a drink, the chica spritzer, and it was so good, refreshing and kind of gave me holiday cocktail vibes Just a tip - parking is limited in the back, you may want to park near the Italian restaurant and walk over

I came here with my brother one day after work and saw that there was a Peruvian place nearby. The place is easy to drive past, it's near the Stater Bro plaza. I chose to get the aguadito ($10), which is a chicken broth based soup with chicken, onions, peas, cilantro, and rice. Very flavorful broth and a good mount of chopped chicken in it. Their chicharron de calamares ($15) is good too, it's fried squid with tartar sauce and criolla sauce. The batter was not too thick and it was crunchy. The little salad that came with it was good too. Their chicha morada ($4) is great too, a purple corn based drink with pineapple and chunks of green apple. My brother chose to get the lomo saltado ($16) which is sliced beef in a soy sauce with french fries, onions, and tomatoes with rice. The portion was a good size, it was not salty and it had a good amount of tender, sliced beef. The staff is nice, there's indoor seating.

We need to have a serious talk about the absolute wizardry happening right under your noses. ‍ I almost didn't write this review. I seriously debated gatekeeping this spot because I'm terrified that once you all find out about it, the line will be wrapped around the block and I'll never get a table again. But, my therapist tells me I need to be more "sharing," so here we are. This place is the definition of a Hidden Gem. And the man running the show? Lucho. We need to protect Lucho at all costs. Not only is he the owner, but he is also a culinary artist and arguably the one of the nicest human being in the Inland Empire. I have rolled in with a big party (don't ask, long day), and despite the space being on the smaller, cozy side, Lucho didn't blink. He helped us fit everything in like a game of Tetris. The place is spotless, by the way. You could eat off the floor, but please don't, because the plates are much better. A Warning/Disclaimer: If you are in a rush and need food in 3 minutes, go to a drive-thru. This is not fast food; this is fresh food. Everything is made to order. There are no sad heat lamps here keeping burgers warm since 10 AM. Relax, sit down, and wait. It is worth every single tick of the clock. Let's talk about the food (I'm getting emotional just typing this): The Lomo Saltado (The Star): I have eaten Lomo Saltado all over. But Lucho's? It's a flavorful experience. He cooks the steak to absolute perfection--tender, juicy, no chewing gum texture here. But the magic is in the seasoning and how it hits those fries and onions. It is worth every penny. I would pay double. Don't tell him that. Aeropuerto de Pollo (Chicken Fried Rice): I know, I know. You're thinking, "It's just chicken fried rice." WRONG. Stop it. It sounds crazy to rave about rice, but this dish is savory, smoky, and addictive. I planned to eat a few bites and take the rest home. I failed. I ate it all. The Chow Mein: Traditional? Yes. Boring? Absolutely not. There is a "minor twist" in the flavor profile that I can't quite put my finger on, but it makes the dish absolutely sing. It's out of this world. Mar y Tierra: If you can't decide between surf or turf, get this. It's the best of both worlds and plated beautifully. I love small businesses like this. You aren't just eating ingredients; you are literally tasting the love and hard work Lucho puts into the pan. It's rare, it's special, and it's delicious. Go visit Lucho. Tip him well. And tell him I said hi and to sing you a song.

Mr. Pollo is a little place in the middle of a small strip center serving up amazing rotisserie chicken and Peruvian dishes. They don't have an extensive menu, but everything is so good. If you plan to eat in the dining area, they would like you to order at the counter first, then find a table to sit. On this recent visit, we ordered the Whole Chicken meal ($32.60), which comes with your choice of two large sides. We got the mashed potatoes & gravy and the beans. This is one of the best rotisserie chickens we've had, and the sides were quite tasty as well. They also have Loma Saltado, Chaufa de Pollo (chicken fried rice), Tallarin Verde con Pechuga de Pollo (chicken served on spaghetti with spinach sauce), and a few other dishes to choose from. It's a very popular place and the dining area is on the small side, so be prepared that you might not find a place to sit. A lot of customers take their orders "to go". Customer service from the manager/owner was not good at all. The lomo saltado was disappointing too -- the beef was very chewy and the sauce was overly salty. The chicken was actually good, and the server did a good job trying to help us. The atmosphere was not comfortable because the restaurant was very smoky from the chicken cooking, and there was no restroom available inside the restaurant. Overall, the food and service from the server were okay, but the manager's attitude really ruined the experience.
