My sister wanted to come here for her bday lunch since she liked this place. It's in a plaza so plenty of parking spaces. As soon as we walked in, there is many tables and chairs available for seating. It was a little warm in there so not sure if the AC wasn't working or need to be turn it on. The music playing was more mellow so it gets pretty quiet in there. I decided to order the Chicken satay lunch special since we got to save room for Porto's cake. The portions were very small and thought the dish was okay. It's not worth the price for it. The peanut sauce looked really watery. I have had better chicken satay with peanut sauce elsewhere. I wouldn't personally come here, but if my sister wants to come here again I would try a different dish instead. The staff was friendly and appears only 1 person was waiting the tables. Family owned Thai restaurant that serves up delicious and authentic Thai food. Owned by a husband and wife couple who are from Thailand. They really bring the best in the Thai culture and flavors! Service is superb, there are so many regulars here. Nisa knows everyone, it's like coming here to visit a family relative. It's run by a couple, so be patient. The food is amazing. Every dish is served piping hot and super filling. Also the Thai tea is a must! It's so good that you will want another after your first. The interior is so cool and gorgeous. My infant daughter and I went out for monthly date night and stumbled upon this lovely establishment via google maps. It was very cute restaurant with an adorable host welcoming us in. They did not have a child's seat so I used our stroller to act as one. But we still enjoyed our time there. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was empty, which was a shame because the food is really good here. We ordered the chicken and beef satay, pad thai, pad see ew, tom yum soup, fried catfish, and shrimp fried rice. The flavor of the food is really good, a little more subtle, and less overwhelming with herbs. I particularly enjoyed the catfish, we got the garlic sauce on the side and it was really flavorful. The batter of the fry is really light and crisp. For dessert, we ordered the homemade coconut ice cream with fried banana. It was amazing, the ice cream wasn't overly sweet and the batter on the banana was really crispy. Just a nice sensory experience. Super good, we ordered more! The service here is also very good. We were the only ones here, but still, the server was very attentive and was always making sure we had what we need. She's actually from Thailand, which is cool. She's super nice and welcoming. The decor of the place is what you'd expect of a Thai restaurant. Booths with pointy accents on the top, Thai art and paintings, it's a nice clean place. There are other Thai places I've been to but this one is probably the best. I used to go to another place where they were padding the food with lettuce to make it look like you get a lot of food, this place doesn't do that because you actually get the food you paid for. FYI, they will be closed for the next 2 weeks and back on July 6th, 2022. Came back tonight to try some new dishes and discovered their garlic pepper tofu. The tofu was on top of a bed of mixed lettuce and cabbage and soaked up all the yummy sauce. It was delicious over rice. I am not a vegetarian but would definitely order this over and over again. We also got the thai cashew dish with pork. It was so different from what I expected, but I really liked it. All the ingredients were diced up an came in a slightly spicy sauce. Decided to visit one of hubby and I's favorite restaurant, the Thai Orchid Garden. After a quick search, they were still in business. Walked in and everything looked the same, as if we were back in 1995. The original owner was still there too; and she remembered us as well!!! After a quick reminiscence and life update, we ordered our usual 1995 food order. Everything was delicious! The Thai ice tea was sweet, but not overly sweet, and yummy. Had their amazing beef satay. Six skewered, tender, grilled beef with delicious peanut sauce. Should have ordered 2, so I did not have to share. Then had the breaded catfish with red sauce. This item was not on the menu, but you can inquire regarding its availability, highly recommend. Also order the pad Thai noodles, a personal favorite. This is a great local, family run business in the Pomona/Claremont area. Plugging this restaurant because it is truly a hidden gem. Only took 1 pic during our stay. Came here 10 mins earlier, the restaurant only had 2 families dining and my food was already ready. Paid $15 for curry itself, it came with no rice...I thought this was an accident but the lady said the order does not come with rice and it would be extra. Given the amount to be $15 and the portion to be so small, I would assume there would be rice with it? Taking it home, I was still optimistic and thought that the quality should be good because of the ratings. I opened it up and the curry was very clumpy, like the coconut milk in the curry was settling and the chicken was very dry. I was very disappointed. Don't think I'll be coming here again. read more

Based off of the good reviews decided to try Thai Orchid Garden! Love good thai and been eating it for over 10 years. Ordered the Pad Won Seen chicken which was delicious and authentic tasting. Ordered it without soy sauce so it's not so salty and you can taste the real flavor better plus less sodium is always healthier. About $15 for the plate which had a very nice presentation and detailed cut fresh ingredients. Chicken was tender and cooked just right. Service was good and cooked fresh to order. Rated it 4 stars do to a little pricey for such a small portion. Portion size is small and was like an appetizer. Larger portion would have for sure been a 5 star. Thai Orchid owners consider just a larger portion and the customer flow would increase.
