My new favorite thai restaurant .The Panang curry was rich, flavorful, and tasted just like the authentic Panang curry I've had in Thailand. The balance of spices and creamy curry sauce was great. The Tom Yum noodles were equally impressive. The broth was packed with flavor, and it was so well-seasoned that I didn't need to add any extra condiments at all. To finish the meal, I ordered the homemade mango ice cream topped with fresh mango. It was the perfect dessert refreshing and full of real mango flavor. We had the best first experience here, and we will be back! We came for a pre Mother's Day dinner and I'm glad we did. We ordered the yellow curry, Pad Thai, Chicken Satay, and fried rice. Everything was delicious!! My daughter ate all 4 chicken skewers (she never does), so that says a lot! As we were leaving, they gave me a bouquet of flowers for Mother's Day. What a sweet gesture!! TLDR: Not going back and wouldn't recommend. Prices high and food just "eh". Restaurant seemed clean. Bathroom seemed mostly clean. Weird that there is a large comfy chair in there staring at the toilet (but maybe I'm missing some accessibility thing) - and the chair is right in front of the urinal. Asked for a water. Didn't come. Gave water to next group that arrived after me. Asked for water again. Finally came. I ordered pad thai chicken ($18?), pineapple fried rice ($16?), and chicken wontons ($11?). He said the fried wontons had meat, but you'd need a microscope the see it if they did. Only about 6-8 in the order (sorry, should have counted). Very oily and disappointing. For $11 it was just sad. Pad thai was uninspired, but serviceable. Was a fairly large dish. The pineapple fried rice was OK, but needed some type of spice, idk if there was any curry flavor in it like at other Thai places. It had some type of red Chinese sausage with it also, which I guess is just a choice from this chef, but not typical. Also a large dish. I asked for some peanut sauce, I was charged $2.50 for that without being notified. It was in a small plastic cup, and cold. Sigh... In places where I get charged for that, usually they give you a good amount and warmed up at least. Thai tea tasted good, but they charged an extra $2 for "no ice". That's rough. Usually it's $0.50 - $1.00 for no ice. I did get a pretty big acid reflux reaction from this tea - something I've never had before (I usually start that drink before the meal). I haven't had acid reflux in years either. Rest of the menu looked pricey. Maybe it's the area, I'm not from here, so maybe it's normal. To be fair, I think he gave me some discount, because my bill came to about $49, which the numbers don't add up to above (should be about $55). I didn't take a Pic of the receipt though (my bad). Just... Sad that I stopped here instead of my usual place close to home an hour away. read more

I came by to Tho One Thai Eatery during a break time. I had gone here before a Yelp event and this was the first time coming back since then. It wasn't busy during the time I came by. I was seated quickly. The location was filled with Christmas decorations. I decided to order from the Lunch Special menu. The items offered are priced at $14.99 each. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken. The wait time wasn't bad. It came with a complimentary soup. The Pad See Ew itself tasted good overall. I think it just didn't standout for me if I had to compare it to other Pad See Ew from other Thai restaurants I go to. It also came with two fried dumplings with a sweet sauce which was definitely different as the pictures on the menu had egg rolls. The lunch menu options for the price point is adequate. I was on my way home from work one night. Thought I give Tho One Thai Eatery a try. First time here for dinner. They weren't super busy. I was seated right away. Ambiance was interesting with a romantic flare. Bench seating had pillows along the wall. The gentleman server was pleasant and nice. Service was decent. Food came out at a reasonable time. I ordered 4 dishes + 1 Thai Iced Tea as I wanted to try a little of what I usually get at a Thai restaurant. Portions were fair. Prices were on the higher end IMHO. My total bill was about $85+ before tip. After tip, it was close to $100. For that cost with only two dishes that came through as better than average, unfortunately, I can't say it was worth it. - Pad Thai with chicken was bland and did not have wok flavor I was looking for. It was probably one of my least preferred dish. - Pad Woon Sen was very flavorful, but it lacked glass noodles. All seafood were fried and very tasty. This is a winning dish! - Pad See Ew with fried tofu was the highlight of my dinner. Flat rice noodles, fried tofu, and veggies were on point. I would get this dish again. - Papaya Salad with shrimp had only 2 shrimps. I didn't even see the shrimps until I dug into the salad. It should have had more shrimps for the price paid. It also tasted very lemony or vinegary. - Thai Iced Tea was the darkest Thai Ice Tea I've ever drank. It didn't have the amount of half and half that it should have had. read more

The table they set up for us was nicely decorated. Loved the decors. The staff that helped us was very friendly and accommodating. They can make most dishes Vegan if you ask. I really enjoy Thai cuisine and was lucky enough to have attended a Yelp event here a month ago. So, when my coworkers wanted to try a "new" Thai place for lunch, I suggested Tho One. Everyone loved it and thought that this was some of the best Thai food we've had in a long time! They offer Lunch Specials from 11AM-3 PM, and Dinner Specials from 3-5 PM. FOOD: I tried a Thai Iced Tea, which was very good...sweet, but not too sweet. We started by sharing a couple appetizers, the Crispy Wontons with ground chicken and sweet & sour dipping sauces, and the Dumplings - Mixed (half steamed, half fried) with a homemade dipping sauce. For entrees, we ordered off the Lunch Specials menu, which included a small salad and an egg roll. We had the Red Curry with Chicken and steamed rice, the Grilled Salmon with broccoli and steamed rice, and the Cashew Nut Chicken with steamed rice. Everything is made to order and was quite delicious. We were all stuffed, but if you're craving dessert, they have a beautiful, creamy Mango Ice Cream pop which is amazing! So I ordered my first to go from this place and I thought it was pretty good Thai food! The usual place that we went to seemed to not be as good anymore and would always take over 30 min for the order to be ready. When I ordered on the phone it was quite easy, but I was asked to give my credit card on the phone (which I don't really want to do) . The man I spoke to was real nice and explained that unfortunately there were people that had called for food but did not come to pick it up. I totally understand, and did not fault him at all. I will probably see if there may be an online option next time. I ordered a few of the usuals that we get, the pad thai (which we really enjoyed) the pad see yew and the papaya salad. The papaya salad. Note that the papaya salad is quite different than other places and that it has peanuts inside. They have lots of vegan options and a huge menu. I tried to get all of it in pictures so hope that it helps. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes. One thing to note was that the person that took my order gave me some of this hot chili oil, it was so good! Really spicy but it had this smoky taste which was so good on the food. I attended my second Yelp event here and I absolutely loved it. Checking in was a breeze because the Yelp team is well coordinated and timely. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is super cute and cozy. We met the Chef and she gave us a sweet speech and the eating began. I ordered the honey and lemon with sparkling water. The drink was simple but, delicious! We were served a naan type of bread with a yellow curry sauce and I absolutely loved the concept and the flavor of the curry. Our second appetizer was a shrimp fried wonton ton served in a shot glass with a warm sweet sauce , and that was also delicious. Our main courses were noodles and two different types of sauces and protein. My favorite was the curry noodles with the chicken. The sauce is highly addicting! The other sauce had a spice to it but, still full of flavor and included the amazing shrimp. Lastly, our dessert was a mango ice cream bar - probably the best mango flavored ice cream I ever had. Which I why I stopped ordering online from them. (Also a couple dollars more expensive) As for this recent time. I walked in, restaurant empty around 2:45pm and ask if I can place an order in person only to be told that they were on break, which mind you doors were open and online said nothing about breaks during a certain time. My family and I have ordered food from Tho One Thai Eatery quite a handful of times. The food has always been great, and we tend to order from here instead of other Thai Restaurants within our vicinity. However, tonight my wife decided to place an order online from their website and noticed that the receipt charged us for a "Credit Card Fee", "Sales Tax", and "Tax". I understand the credit card fee as it's noted in the print prior to placing the order. However, we're confused about the double tax charge. The "Sales Tax" is 10.25% of our subtotal, and the "Tax" is 10.50% of our subtotal. I'm aware that sales tax in the city of La Verne is 10.50%, but I'm not sure what the 10.25% charge is for on top of the true 10.50% sales tax. My wife did ask the staff for clarification about this when she arrived, but they informed her that the manager is not present and they are unsure of this issue themselves. At the end of the day, it's not a large amount, but if it's improper labeling on the system for some type of "service fee", I think it's important that it be fixed and made more apparent so customers can decide whether or not to patronize at their own discretion. Whether big or small, I don't like paying for things that aren't made clear from the get-go. read more

It was 84.00.... 90.00 with tip (take out tip) . The yellow curry had very little sauce. The other curry dish the beef was so tough I couldn't eat it. I don't mind spending money for high quality delicious food but this was not it. Very disappointed. The service was good. I should have checked the food before I left. I have never written a Yelp review before, but this place absolutely deserves it! The service was incredible and the food was unbelievably delicious. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so welcoming and kind. It was my girlfriend's and I first time there, and they were generous enough to give us two teas for free, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything we tried was amazing!
