Eating with my homie

Great food, service is great, the decoration of the place is nice it gives sushi vibes. definitely recommend giving it a try.

Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll

Stopped by for a Thursday night dinner. When we arrived the place was empty but got busy as we got through our meal. When ordering I noticed some items were not listed on the menu so make sure to ask the server if there is something you don't see & would like. The green tea was served in a large mug & had the tea bag. If you're looking for traditional tea this isn't the place for that.. My meal was good, I got the spicy tuna hand roll and the spicy tuna crunch roll. The crunch roll was really saucy so if you don't like sauce ask for it to be light. The hand roll was what I expected. The wasabi wasn't as kickin as I'd hoped for, also it was not the natural color green so I assumed its a paste with dye. The miso soup only had tofu, no seaweed but still good. We were all too full to order desert but the staff was kind in suggesting some options.

This isn't my first time coming here and won't be the last. When in area and in the mood for some pretty good sushi at a good price I think of this restaurant. The crowd favorites are the usual for me too. Baked mussels, spicy tuna rolls and the fukuya roll are worth trying. Come here to watch the game it just hang out with the sushi chef. This has the perfect ambiance for that.

Well, two years ago I ended my first review by saying, "You haven't seen the last of us Kazama…read moreSushi! We will be coming back a lot!" Safe to say, we meant it. Two years later, Kazama has become our go to sushi spot. My wife and I have been back more times than I can count and it's one of those places where we already know we're going to leave happy. The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious, the sauces are amazing, and the spicy garlic edamame is STILL one of my favorites. We've tried plenty of different rolls since that first visit and have found quite a few favorites along the way. The service has also continued to be friendly and welcoming every time we come in. We love the hole in the wall vibes this spot gives. I always think the best compliment you can give a restaurant is becoming a regular. We said we found our new favorite spot two years ago and Kazama has definitely earned that title. Still an easy 5 stars from us!

Visited Kazama for a quick date day lunch with hubby…read more Located in the courtyard by the theatre and near the hotel. This sushi place has plenty of lunch specials and things to offer as well as an extensive menu. The menu can be seen by scanning the QR code on the table. Our server was attentive and helped us order. Due to time we ordered a couple of the lunch items. We got the tempura plate that comes with a shrimp tempura cali roll. The tempura was all very fresh, as was the roll that came with it. The other thing we got was the gyoza combo pate. That came with spicy tuna and Cali roll and some pieces or gyoza. The meal was served with miso soup. Because it was a date day we should have sat at the bar for more privacy. The tables are a little too close in my opinion so you can't have a private conversation. The place is tiny but the sushi was good enough tasting to where I'd go back for a lunch plate again. I'd also try their specialty rolls.

We came to SushiYa in San Dimas this past weekend to celebrate a birthday, and I have to admit, I…read morewas pleasantly surprised by just how much I liked this place. when I hear that a restaurant is part of a small chain, my expectations tend to drop a little. Not because I'm a snob, but because somehow the more locations a place has, the more likely it seems that the food starts tasting like it was designed by a committee. Actually, I am a snob. I lied earlier. First, the atmosphere is great. The interior has cozy little booths and tables, with fake cherry blossoms spread across the ceiling, which somehow manages to feel charming rather than cheesy. It's intimate enough for a date night, but comfortable enough to hang out with friends and spend some time over dinner. There's a warmth to the place that makes you want to stick around for another roll... and then another roll... and eventually you are fatter than a tick on a Texas hound dog. The service was also excellent. We had a couple of servers, but Lily really stood out. She was friendly, chatty, and genuinely helpful. Good service is what I expect when I go out to eat, but when I remember someone's name afterward and feel compelled to mention them in a Yelp review, that's a pretty strong indication that they were doing something right. Nice job Lily and thank you. Everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and really well executed. We tried the Lemon Blossom, Salmon and Mango Delight, and Venice Roll, and all three were excellent. We tried some drinks and appetizers too, but I already know you're thinking this review is too wordy. Each had its own thing going on, and everything tasted fresh and super flavorful. For sushi at this price point, I think SushiYa is a terrific value. You get a nice atmosphere, genuinely great service, and food that makes you immediately start thinking about what you're going to order the next time you come back. And apparently I'm already thinking about that. In fact, I may be driving there right now as I write this review. Which, in retrospect, is probably not a great idea. If the police see me, I'm probably getting a ticket. Whoa, I just ran a stop sign. So if you're reading this and there's a noticeable lack of punctuation at the end, just know that the final sentence of this Yelp review was probably written through tears as I look at how much this citation is costing me. Anyway, check out Sushi Ya. Good stuff.

It's a beautiful presentation. The fish was fresh and very tasty. It is worth the price for two people. My husband and I came by again two weeks ago with his cousins. We noticed there was a BOGO half off deal on their sushi. Score! I ordered the Salmonizer Roll and my husband got the Geisha Roll. You can't go wrong with eel sauce on sweet shrimp on top of a California roll. It was good! The decor is nice. The dark interior gives the restaurant a modern vibe. The music played at a comfortable level. There is parking available directly in front and is also shared with other businesses. Overall, I would recommend. My family and I were first-time visitors to this exclusive AYCE Sushi restaurant…read more After waiting fifteen minutes to be seated, a very friendly, welcoming waitress approached us and apologized for the wait. It was no issue for us whatsoever. Once seated, we were told for the first time that this restaurant was all-you-can-eat only. I explained to the waitress that my daughter only wanted two California rolls. Once again, I was reminded that this was AYCE only. No big deal, but I was a tad disappointed and surprised that we wouldn't be allowed to order À la carte. Up to this point, I haven't asked pricing for the AYCE, as I was prepared for $35.99-$45.99 per person, like most other AYCE sushi restaurants. At this restaurant, you order using your cell phone after scanning the QR code on a paper taped to each table. I scanned the QR code, and the full menu, including pictures, was displayed. I prefer ordering from any business by speaking to a live person; however, I have accepted that more and more businesses are switching to this option and/or kiosks for placing orders. We ordered five to six rolls in total and a few other items from the full menu on display. The wait time was approximately 33 minutes for our order to be delivered to our table. This was acceptable and understandable, as this is a large and extremely popular restaurant, as shown by how many guests were seated at nearly every one of the twenty+ tables and the steady stream of customers checking in and waiting for a table. As our food arrived, it looked appealing, and all the rolls we ordered were placed on one wooden tray. Our rolls were absolutely DELICIOUS!! Fresh and perfectly prepared. I truly could not believe how tasty each roll was, as each piece I had was full of flavor We made it to round two of three before we had to call it quits because we were stuffed and extremely happy with our lunch. When it came time to pay, I was extremely happy and surprised to learn that our AYCE sushi was only $29.99 per person, which is an unbelievable price. I might add that service here was AMAZING!! Between our waitress and a waiter who was also helping, they checked on us nine times. They were both attentive, super friendly, and hardworking. The restaurant was very clean and well organized, and there were four sushi chefs on two different sides of the restaurant doing their thing. The service was top-notch, and the food was EXCELLENT! We will gladly return here soon.
