I had a lovely experience at Johnny Sushi (Glendora). I ordered the Tsunami Plate #14 ($18.99). It's Salmon Nigiri, Tuna Nigiri, and a Rainbow Roll. WOW!! The meal arrived fresh, clean, & delicious! It's good quality sushi!! I arrived at Johnny Sushi (Glendora) on Sunday (around 7:10PM). Parking is simple. This business is located inside the popular Glendora Public Market Hall, so there's an assigned parking area. Parking is a little competitive, but I easily found a spot. Staff is professional and diligent. Staff attended to me quickly. And Staff worked hard. Customers order at the counter and receive an electronic pager that buzzes when your meal is complete. My food took about five minutes. FAST!! As mentioned, I sincerely enjoyed the Tsunami Plate #14 ($18.99). Despite its unusual location inside a Market Hall, the food is FRESH! The nigiri melted apart softly in my mouth. And the sushi tasted very clean and satisfying! WOW!! Since I ordered for Dine-In, the meal was even plated aesthetically on a dish. The portions are GENEROUS and the quality rivals mid-to-upscale sushi spots. AFFORDABLE and DELICIOUS! On ambiance, this small business is a stall inside the Glendora Public Market Hall. Fortunately, the area is fairly clean, but the seating area is reminiscent of a college campus cafeteria. Still, there's utility. There's nearby flat screen televisions that are showing the Soccer Game. Also, there's A LOT of seats and other stalls to peruse. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Johnny Sushi (Glendora). Please look at the attached photos and tell me if you think that this justifies the price tag of $60. Average cuts and sizes. But $60?! To add insult to injury, they nickel and dime you. What they charged at the cash register was very different from what was on the printed menus. Supposedly, if we wanted hamachi, we were supposed to pay $2 extra? Damn. From now on, we'll probably get our sushi fix at Orange Fish in La Verne. All you can eat premium sushi for less than $40. Very disappointed with Johnny Sushi. read more

I have now tried the tsunami salad (not spicy) and the poke bowl. Compared to other places in the area I found the price to quality ratio excellent. I don't believe you can get good quality sushi at discount prices. Usually Poke bowls and salads are made using a lesser grade of fish and hidden with overpowering sauces. I hope they keep the quality up, if not I bail. Kaiba in La Verne is also good for the money. read more

I had great 1st experience at Johnny Sushi. They are located inside the Glendora Public Market. The booth has countertop seating and a long high table for seating right next to the business. I came by shortly after it opened for my lunch break. I was the 2nd customer of the day. The staff working was Johnny himself. He was welcoming and patience with all the questions I had about the menu options. The menu is quite extensive so definite take your time to choose what you might be craving. The menu offers Special Rolls, Regular Rolls and Appetizers. Then there is the TSUNAMI PLATE menu. They have many different combinations from this menu and it's all listed at $16.99 with options to my have it spicy or non spicy. These combos including different variations of rolls and/or nigiri and an Inari option. The Inari option caught my eye and I decided to try it because chef Johnny said it has 8pcs. I opted for the spicy option. I sat at the counter top where you can see Chef Johnny making the orders behind the glass. The order was done in 5-10 minutes. The presentation was crazy. All the Inari was lined up, sauced up and topped with crispy garlic and scallions. I knew I made the right choice. The inari included salmon, tuna and crab. I enjoyed each and every one of them. The textures and the flavors were delicious. That Inari plate was top-tier! Worth every penny. I mentioned to Chef Johnny I would come back and bring my wife because I know she'd enjoy it. A new spot in Glendora Public Market that took over the previous bagel shop. The staff was incredibly friendly and there's a large menu with various combos as well. We got one salmon combo to share and the fish tasted good. The rice had a nice vinegar taste too. For the nilgiri, the rice to fish ratio was a little off with a lot of rice, but the other sushi pieces were proportionate. The combo has a good amount and allows you to try different rolls which makes it easily shareable. Overall, a solit sushi spot and nice addition to the food hall! read more

What a difference two weeks makes. Had a nice experience two weeks ago and we have this place a pretty glowing review. Unfortunately, they had several bait and switch items on the menu and drastically changed their pricing. What they actually charge is NOT what is printed on the laminated menus/display boards facing the customers. They were very unclear about these and kept repeating that they needed to change their menu later on to reflect these changes. It's quite disappointing. I know times are hard, but they are for customers as well. They should either pull their menus or simply blot out the prices since it feel like they are nickel and diming you. read more

We decided to stop in and noticed a new sushi spot. The previous one is long gone and I was hoping another sushi spot would come along. This one is located where the bagel shop used to be. I noticed another customer eating a couple of plates and asked how it was and they recommended trying it. We ordered a few plates and everything we ordered was delicious. The fish was very fresh and made when we ordered. I didn't get a picture of the poke bowl but that is something I want to go back to try. I thought the fruit in the cups were fruit salads but it's actually to make smoothies. It's definitely a nice addition if you're looking for something on the healthy side. The service was friendly and they were happy to answer our questions. The menu has pictures so it comes in handy when placing your order. The prices are very reasonable and the food is fresh and filling. A quick note about the wasabi. It's different than what is commonly served, it's very strong. A little bit goes a long way. There's a counter where you can sit and watch as they prepare your meal or you can sit at one of the many nearby tables. Once we got in and saw that the sushi place had opened we decided to give it ago. Well, all I can say is that Johnny Sushi is FANTASTIC !! I was seriously surprised and so impressed by the quality, freshness, taste and impressive service we got. I just want to spread the word on this lil local gem because this place is amazing and prices were very fair.
