When you think of San Dimas, Raging Waters water slide park comes to mind, or "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure". There is more to it though. Beyond that, San Dimas is also home to Bonelli Park that's filled with all kinds of outdoor recreational activities. Long ago, the Santa Fe Railway ran right through this town that was crowned the Queen of the Citrus Belt back in 1907. Apparently, the orange and lemon groves were spectacular. But as it turns out, San Dimas has also got some fresh and tasty sushi. Along with Bento Box lunches that'll have you waddling home like an overstuffed sumo wrestler. It was an early lunch before we headed out to enjoy the lake at Bonelli Park. The decor was simple, but the twinkle lights gave it a homey feel as the Sushi Chef worked diligently behind the bar. We all ordered Bento Boxes since they looked great and the price was family-friendly, as well. We sampled the Chicken Teriyaki, Salmon Teriyaki, and I ordered the Sashimi with Maguro/tuna. The tuna sashimi melted in my mouth. And the portion was generous. The tempura was piled high. We all like California Rolls and they were tasty. My kiddo loved the Salmon, while my hubby stayed quiet all lunch long as he inhaled every bite of Chicken Teriyaki. The Bento also came with the standard miso soup, salad, and rice. I noticed a hint of garlic on the salad dressing that gave it a unique flavor from other Japanese restaurants I've tried. Service was accommodating, friendly, and quick. I appreciated the server for bringing a chopstick holder for my kiddo so he wouldn't just stab his fish. Or worse, having to watch him scoop up each grain of rice, one-by-one in frustration because forks are rarely an option for us when dining on Japanese cuisine. The only regret on our behalf was that we should've saved lunch for AFTER our trip to the lake. Peddling on the lake was less enticing because we just wanted to waddle to the car and go back home to our comfy couches -- and turn on a Keanu Reeves flick. read more

This is a nice family owned and operated restaurant. Customer service is top notch every time. The food is fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Today, they had 3 special Blue Fin Tuna dishes. Yelped "sushi" restaurants for our date night and decided to try them out! Restaurant is located in a shared plaza with lots of parking so we didn't have any issues, we parked right outside the restaurant! The restaurant was clean with lots of seating. The restaurant was about half full when we walked in. We were seated right away. Customer service was fantastic! Everyone checked in on us and refilled our waters without us asking. For the food, we tried the spicy garlic edamame, spider roll, dragon roll, and Alaska roll. My boyfriend and I agreed that everything tasted fresh and delicious! I would definitely want to come back to try some of their other appetizers and sushi :) PS - we checked in on Yelp and they gave us a generous scoop of ice cream for dessert .. we tried their matcha and strawberry flavors.. sooOoo good! My party and I came for lunch and decided to sit outside. Service was great. We were checked on frequently even though we were the only people who decided to sit outside. We ordered an assortment of rolls and a chirashi bowl. The food came out fairly quickly. The sashimi is thick, quality cuts. The rolls were all delicious. The Alaskan and lemon pepper salmon were my favorite ones. All in all, my past dining experiences here over the years have never been lackluster. An enjoyable takeout experience and good quality sushi at a decent price. This shopping plaza was surrounded by beautiful neighborhoods and green parks with trees. The rolls were fantastic and the chirashi was pretty good. I'm docking a star because they weren't too generous with the amount of fish in the chirashi, though everything was of good quality and the salmon was very tender. Note that the baby lobster roll actually has baby crawfish and not lobster on top. They also didn't give free ice cream with my Yelp check-in because we didn't dine in. I've been here a couple times and I've enjoyed my visits here. It's located in the Vons shopping plaza, so parking is plentiful. The food is good, prices are good, and staff is friendly. They have a variety of rolls posted on the wall, with names inspired by the surrounding cities (ie Pomona roll, Covina roll). They also offer the usual bento box combos, teriyakis, noodles, etc. I have no complaints about this place, it's solid Japanese food and satisfies my teriyaki cravings. BEST PLACE FOR SUSHI AND CALIFORNIA ROLLS! This place has been an all time favorite of mine for many, many years. I've been here many times with family gatherings and this place has never failed to impress me with generous portions and most importantly, top-notch Japanese delicacy. The ambiance is pretty nice and chill and the service is pretty solid as well. I've also had the chance to meet the owner of the restaurant while eating, and he was a very nice and genuine person. I have a whole list of favorites from the menu, but I would have to tip my hat to the lobster roll, fireboat roll, and the calamari.
