Finally tried Sushiya and I'm honestly impressed The fish tasted super fresh, the rolls were well-balanced and everything came out looking beautiful. We ordered a mix of tempura & fresh rolls and every one was a hit. Service was quick and friendly, and the overall vibe was chill without feeling rushed. Perfect spot for a casual sushi night or a cute lunch with friends. Definitely coming back! Already craving it again

This place is amazing! The sushi is absolutely top-tier--everything holds its shape perfectly, tastes incredibly fresh, and is beautifully presented. You can really tell they put care into every detail, from preparation to plating. The restaurant itself has such a great vibe. It's beautifully decorated, giving off a romantic atmosphere that's perfect for a date night or just hanging out with friends. I came here with my brother, and we ordered two miso soups, baked green mussel, a Super Philly roll, two Red Dragon rolls, a Cajun salmon roll with spicy tuna instead of crab, and macaron ice cream for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious--every roll I tried exceeded expectations. I also really appreciated how accommodating the staff were with my celiac needs. They carefully removed soy sauce, tempura, imitation crab, and eel sauce where needed, and made sure everything came out perfectly. My brother even had eel sauce on the side so he could dip. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the entire experience. I'd definitely come back again if I'm in the area--it's a bit of a drive for me, but totally worth it!

I wanted to try a new sushi spot in the area and glad to have stumbled on Sushiya! The wait is real on a Friday night, so be sure to waitlist on Yelp before coming over. It was an hour for me, but def worth it. The salmon sushi was solid, I would order again. The rice could've been warmer but the fish was fresh and I appreciated that. The salmon avocado really hit the spot for me. Sometimes I just want something basic and this was it! I loved it. Would recommend, the salmon pieces were good too. The eel avocado roll was a bit too sauced for me. I think I'd have to ask for sauce on the side next time if I order it again. The beef teriyaki was pretty sweet and yet a bit too salty for my liking. I would pass on this next time. Although it is a decent amount of food for the cost, especially is you do the two sides and get sushi and a tuna roll like we did! The spicy pepper salmon roll was probably a favorite for me. The flavor combination was great. Love the flavor from the sear and the soy mustard. The chili crunch was a nice crunch and who doesn't love green onions?? I'd def recommend this! All in all, I would come back but I do wish they had more rolls options without imitation crab meat. Come support this business, they have their great ratings for a reason!

Update: I came back because the food was really good, despite our waitress being a little awkward. Our waitress today was so nice and friendly, and not awkward at all. Our food came out so fast as well, literally one right after the other.

We got immediately seated. Food came out quick. Service and food was good. I can't complain! Affordable pricing among sushi places too. Accommodations of no avocado and no green onion was also made without mistake. Nice cozy restaurant with okay parking Everything was nice. Thank you.

The vibe inside was so cute and really enjoyed all the decorations! The service was exceptional our sever was very attentive and kept checking on us throughout our whole experience. The food was very yummy and my favorite thing we had was actually the chili oil funny enough! 10/10 we will be coming back again :)

So glad we came across this place. The sushi is delicious and so fresh. The staff is so nice and the ambiance gives off good vibes. My daughter loved the playlist they had going in the background. Sex after Cigarettes was playing and she was totally into the vibe. We had bento boxes for dinner and a dragon roll. The portions were plenty and we shared all the extras. There was a bit of a wait but nothing to serious. Add your name to the waitlist via Yelp and you're good to go.

    yellowtail jalapeño carpaccio

The yellowtail jalapeño carpaccio we received looked nothing like what's shown on Yelp. The photo shows a full, composed dish with roe on top and a proper amount of ponzu. What came out was a noticeably smaller portion, no roe at all, and barely any sauce. It felt like a completely watered-down version of the same item. On top of that, the service was poor. We waited a long time for our food while multiple tables that arrived after us were served first. It felt like we were completely overlooked, and barely anyone came by to check in or acknowledge the delay. It's hard not to feel misled when the dish looks so different from what's advertised, and the service doesn't make up for it. If this is how the dish is actually served, the photos should reflect that. Between the inconsistency and the lack of attention, this wasn't a great experience.

First time here for lunch, ordered a pork katsu bento with shrimp and vegetables tempura. The taste was delicious, fresh, and crispy! Definitely coming back again ~!

I will preface this with the fact that I don't usually post negative reviews. But if a place doesn't get constructive criticism when it's necessary, their business might suffer without knowing why. I will also say that I hold sushi restaurants to a higher standard because they serve raw food. My first impression on walking in was that it was dark, even though windows cover the whole front wall. Everything is painted dark brown or black. The brown paint is chipped everywhere along the walls where the chair tops hit. The walls themselves are spattered with what appears to be the sauces of many past patrons' meals. There is an excessive amount of art on the walls, all of which could, and some was, collecting dust. The waitress was good, attentive enough and professional. The food was also good, but not great enough to make me not notice the state of the restaurant. With all of this, if it was the cheapest sushi around, that would have helped, but I would say it was a bit higher priced or comparable to others in the area. I would recommend a remodel, or at least a repainting in a lighter color that didn't hide splash marks as well. I hope that this helps you maintain your high standards reflected in your overall review scores.

Do they have all you can eat and if so how much?

    They don't offer AYCE sushi.

Are there Happy Hour specials and, if so, what days/times?

I believe happy hour is on weekdays, but call the restaurant to see if they have happy hours on weekends, too.

Is this an AYCE sushi place?

No it's not. However, the portions are more than enough to get the job done. Go in ready to eat. Stay hungry my friends 😋

Is the sushi bar open to sit at?

No I don't think they let people sit on the bar

I came here with my brother planning to do the all-you-can-eat option. I let the staff know upfront…read morethat I have celiac disease and asked if they could remove ingredients like imitation crab, eel sauce, tempura, and soy sauce from the rolls since all of those contain gluten. I even clarified that I didn't want any substitutions--I just wanted those items removed. However, they told me they couldn't do that under the all-you-can-eat menu and insisted that any change counted as a substitution, which would mean an extra charge per roll just to remove the imitation crab. That didn't make much sense to me considering it's supposed to be all-you-can-eat--I wasn't asking for anything extra, just to remove ingredients I can't eat. They suggested I order carpaccio or sashimi instead, but those options were more expensive and also restricted (for example, carpaccio was limited to one order per person). That didn't feel like a good value, especially since those were basically the only safe options available to me. I've been to other all-you-can-eat sushi places where they were happy to remove things like imitation crab, tempura flakes, and sauces to accommodate gluten allergies, so this was the first time I've run into this issue. Don't get me wrong--if I didn't have celiac disease, this place might actually be a go-to. The all-you-can-eat price is pretty reasonable, and the convenience of ordering through a QR code at your own pace is a big plus. However, if you have celiac disease or any dietary restrictions, it's a completely different experience. While there are a couple of alternatives like sashimi or carpaccio, the added cost and restrictions really take away from the value. Overall, it's a convenient and affordable spot for most people, but for those with dietary restrictions, it's probably not worth it.

Its broth is rich, creamy, and savory. Every bite felt like heaven. (Important Note: Currently, there's a Yelp Check-In Promotion! Free Ice Cream, Soda, or Hot Tea for one in-person Check-In.) I arrived at Kaiba (La Verne) on Saturday (around 1:45PM). Parking is easy. The lot is spacious & big. Service felt professional, accommodating, and welcoming. My server (Jayden) worked hard. Jayden maintained a bright cheery demeanor; Jayden was very attentive & quickly assisted me; and Jayden always worked non-stop in the background. My food arrived around 6 minutes and 15 seconds. Very fast!! As mentioned, I found happiness in my meal. This Tonkotsu Ramen felt memorable and special. Its egg is silky, falling apart effortlessly as it hits the tongue. Its chasu is charred, tender, and thick. The broth is creamy and rich. And most importantly, the noodles are bountiful and springy. I felt all my stress seep away with each euphoric bite. In addition, the Gyoza tasted fresh and crisp. Its filling came juicy, and I reveled how each bite left a light crunch. And the Green Tea Ice Cream (Complimentary with Yelp Check-In Promotion) tasted chill, smooth, and refreshing. All in all, the value and quality of this meal felt unmatched. Concerning ambiance, Kaiba (La Verne) felt a little sporadic. It's clean, spacious, and well-ventilated. However, its appearance is a little ugly since folded plastic bags and boxes are sprawled outside in plain view. Still, I appreciated the food photos on the wall. Kaiba (La Verne) also has utility. I appreciated the flat screen TV; it plays the football game. Also, I observed a high-chair for kids, so this location is family friendly. The location also felt spacious with its high ceiling. Overall, I had a lovely, magical experience at Kaiba (La Verne). I am very excited that the hype is genuine. I left full and happy. If you love ramen, this is an easy recommendation. 5 out of 5.
