4/12/26 Bua Thai Cuisine Claremont, CA... Came here for the 1st time with my daughter for a Sunday lunch. We shared the Cashew Nut Chicken & Dried Chili and Pineapple Fried Rice. Both were super yummy! We really loved the sauce in the Cashew Nut Chicken dish! Service here was great, very nice people, and a very clean place! You gotta come give them a try!!!

One star because it's really unpleasant to encounter a scrunched up plastic while eating. I ordered take out, 4 dishes. One of them had plastic scrunched up and looked like it had been cooked with my meal. I thought it was some kind of vegetable, like cabbage. When I opened it up due to the odd texture in my mouth .. turns out it was a plastic wrap of some sort. If you really want to keep good business you have to do better.

The ambiance here is amazing it always smells floral and inviting when you walk in and the decor is very nice and everything is clean. The service is amazing as well the waitress/waiters always make sure to refill my water and the food comes out in a timely matter. They have affordable prices and it's good quality food. I especially love their pad see ew beef and fried soft shell crab.

Conveniently located near many shops and eateries with a good-sized parking lot, so access is easy. The restaurant has a large space and the service was okay, but unfortunately the food was disappointing. Flavors were very mediocre at best, preparation felt careless, and the presentation wasn't appetizing. Overall, it's a convenient spot location-wise, but the food quality didn't match the setting.

Not sure why there are so many low reviews for customer service and the food. I went for the first time this past weekend and customer service and food were great! I got the chicken fried rice with medium spice level and it tasted great! A huge helping of fried rice that could be split with another person filled with vegetables and flavor. The food also comes quickly.

Excellent spot! Tasty food, friendly attentive service, warm and comfortable ambience with indoor and outdoor seating. Only complaint is that I got bit by something while I was there and was itchy for an hour.

Ok so I hike in the area in the mountains. So a friend and I figured of course since we are way out in this area we should grab some food. It was also my birthday. I was in the mood for a burger and we went to town. We seen a parking spot and pulled up directly in front of this place. So we changed our minds and said Thai food it is. There weren't going to be open for a bit so we walked around to check out the area. A pretty cool place to explore. We went back to the restaurant and were the first and only customers. It was early and the day after thanksgiving which was perfect for us. We where greeted we where served drinks then placed our order. A soup for my friend became loves a seafood soup. I got fried rice, chicken and a couple appetizers. It was a great comfortable atmosphere and we were alone for a long time til another customer showed up. I will definitely stop here again in the future. 5 thumbs up

Pad Thai Noodles mixed meats, cream cheese wontons, Thai tea

Food was solid came out quick and one serving was enough to share between two people. We had Pad Thai noodles, cream cheese wontons, and a Thai tea. Ambience was nice and relaxed with nice decorations. Overall it was a pleasant experience with good food and good prices. Would come back.

Bua Thai is located in the Claremont Village and is walkable distance from Keck Graduate Institute. There's plenty of seating indoors and is a great place if you're looking for an affordable and casual lunch or dinner. The quantity of food is good for the price as well. The waitress was really nice and our food came out quick. The chicken pad thai was a little sweet for my liking, didn't have tofu, and used a thinner noodle than I'm used to, but it was good for sharing. The basil fried rice was a nice portion and was flavorful as well. I'd recommend this place to someone looking for a quick lunch in Claremont.

I came here for a business meeting and it was a nice restaurant located on Indian hill with plenty of other eateries in the area. Parking seems to be a hit or miss but I got lucky and made a u-turn in time to snag a parking spot right in the front. Upon entering I was greeted with a lovely smell of jasmine. I asked for a table of 3 and was seated right away during their lunch hours. 2 out of 3 people ordered lunch specials and we also ordered the fried spring rolls, papaya salad, and tofu pad thai to share. The pad thai is not the best I've had, but it was a good portion. The papaya salad was decent tasting, but the portion was small. The fried spring rolls were good. We also ended the meal with mango sticky rice and that was pretty good. The mango was very sweet and enjoyable. Service was attentive and food was a bit above average. The meal came out to almost $90 with tip, so its not that cheap for lunch. Regardless, I do see myself coming back in the future.

Been here a few times when I used to work in the area. Loved it then, so I stopped by again to savor their excellent dishes. The inside is rectangular in shape and large, lots of wood paneling and space to walk around. Also has a nice patio. Server was very nice and brought our food pretty quickly. Still as delicious as I remember!

food

food was delish but UNfortunately the service could be better. The lady with the long black hair seemed like she did not want to help us. She took our order and then quickly rushed away, and we were not even finished ordering. She slammed the check down on the table. and just seemed very annoyed with us. kind of a let down for our first time.

It's still about a 25-minute drive for me, but that's nothing compared to driving all the way to LA just to satisfy a craving. I'll keep it simple: everything on the menu is delicious. Seriously, there's no wrong order here. Whether you're craving noodles, curry, rice dishes, or late-night comfort food, they always deliver. The flavors have stayed consistent throughout the years, and that's probably why I keep coming back. The restaurant itself is spacious and can easily accommodate multiple large groups without feeling cramped. Food comes out fast, service is always great, and the staff keeps things moving even when it gets busy. My only complaint is that I wish they stayed open later -- but that's just me being selfish because this is one of those places you'll crave at random hours. Honestly, this place deserves the same level of recognition as McDonald's. Everyone should know about Sanamluang. If you haven't been here yet, you're seriously missing out.

The best thing is their tom kha soup, soooo flavorful and filled with lots of chicken and mushrooms, highly recommend. Another great item were their fried chicken wings, very good and crispy and the sauce they give is super tasty. Their pad see ew was also very good, packed with beef and moist. The trout (kinda pricey depending on the seasonal price it was $23) was good as well, the lightness and freshness of their vegetable pickled slaw really cut thru their super crispy oiled fish. The duck was good, but it was super gamey, more than I'd like, the spinach was sautéed nicely tho. The chicken larb was our least favorite, it was way too sweet and just tasted like batter to me, the flavor was just off, we didn't even take home the leftovers. Their Thai coffee was hella sweet, like super sweet, Idk if I would get that again. Their mango sticky rice was $14 and honestly it was just ok, I've had better. Overall the service was quick, the place is clean overall, it does get crowded bc I can see why, the prices are reasonable and there is a lot of options of food. We would come back if we are in the area. Oh and ps just so u know parking is horrible, if u park on a wrong area u will get towed. They warn you multiple times to be careful where u park. It's just not a big enough lot, especially for how popular the place is. So be prepared to fight for a parking spot

They were perfectly sweetened and had the right amount of cream! Didn't even get boba but next time I would love to try it with boba! They also offered us a sample of their Thai iced coffee which was truly so tasty, definitely want to get that to drink next time! The Pad See Ew was a 9/10 for me! The flavor was there, beef was good and it even came with an eggroll because it was the lunch special! The Pad Thai was 10/10, delicious flavor, beef was tender, noodles were cooked well! Both dishes could have more beef but it was still good! The crab rangoons were soooo flavorful! They tasted fresh, not frozen! The flavor of the wonton wrapper and the crab was so delicious, the sauce it comes with enhanced it! The service was 10/10, both waitresses were kind and friendly, the food came out very hot and pretty quickly as well! Overall I would definitely come again, probably soon too. I can't wait to get a full glass of their Thai iced coffee and try some other items on the menu! But I'll definitely get the pad see ew and pad Thai again!

You can expect a bustling and vibrant ambience during this time. We got several dishes: drunken noodles, pad see ew, house fried rice, and yellow pumpkin curry. Each dish came with our choice of protein; the options without an extra cost were chicken, pork, tofu, and vegetables. Our server was friendly, and the other staff made sure we had our waters refilled. Along with great service, I enjoyed the food again. The drunken noodles were flavorful and not too spicy. Highly recommend this. Chicken Satay: This is our other favorite dishes. The chicken is tender and well seasoned. This is a great alternative for their popular crying tiger in terms of the portion and pricing. Papaya Salad: I was a bit disappointed with this. The papaya salad is lack of flavoring (specifically the garlic taste). It's not very marinated. Tom Yum Soup: We got a small bowl of the seafood tom yum soup. The portion is great for 2 people, but don't expect too much seafood from it. The flavor is good, so it's still a great soup option. Non-Sweet Sticky Rice: Unlike other places, their sticky rice is served as a dessert, you can still taste the coconut flavor. Most other traditional Thai places serve sticky rice as unsweetened and plain (i.e., jasmine rice soaked overnight). Not really mad about this. The service was absolutely amazing. We made a reservation ahead of time to avoid waiting in line. I'm glad we did because there were already people waiting when we arrived at 6pm. The restaurant is very clean and cozy. Overall, Basil & co. is a great Thai restaurant option in town, but I wouldn't say it is the BEST Thai restaurant I ever had.
