This past Sunday, I made my regular visit a friends church and we decided to head over to Thai Ivory nearby. Serving some chill vibes, I was told the owner was Christian and it shows as Bible scripture lines the walls and has very, "Welcome Home" vibe to it. We were a party of 8 and for a Sunday afternoon it was just us so it felt like it was reserved. They had a full menu and offered the Lunch special menu as well, which to me a surprise considering lunch specials normally only are available Monday through Friday. I ordered the Pork Jerky, Crab Rangoons, and Drunken Crispy Noodle or Rad Nah. My friends ordered the Lunch special which comes with an egg roll, salad, a cup of Tom Yum. The Pork Jerky was soft with some great mix of fat and lean meat, while the crab Rangoon disappeared before I had a chance to try it. The star of the show for me was the Rad Nah, which I don't order too often, but I wanted something a little more hearty. The gravy was so good and the veggies and chicken was also good. The noodles where crispy as well. The only knock for me is that I wish that it had more chicken. I felt that the ratio was a bit off, but it could just be me. Overall, as it is far away from me, I can't really say that I would be back. However, if your in the area I would recommend you try it. The staff is really nice and they have kareoke nights once and awhile. So why not? Cheers! read more

Nice little surprise experience. We were going to go to eat mediterranean but decided on this place. So glad we did. Place is about medium size space with adequate seating. It was 3 of us. I ordered pad thai, popcorn chicken and mango sticky rice. Other people in party ordered yellow curry lunch apecial and orange chicken. Both loved their dishes. The popcorn chicken was amazing, we couldn't stop eating it. Great appetizer nicely salted and comes with a sweet and sour sauce to dip. My pad thai was good it seem they used the yellow curry sauce to coat it which gave different taste than use to with pad thai. The mango sticky rice was another homerun. My son couldn't stop eating it. Everyone enjoyed the rice that sat in condense milk surrounded by mango. Definitely recommend and with come again. Very calm and soothing ambiance with spa like music. Service was friendly and fast. We enjoyed the tofu pad woon sen, duck noodle soup and glass noodle salad. Everything was so fresh, tasty and homey. Will definitely be coming back and bringing more family so we can try more dishes! read more

Decided to try something new today, the "Pineapple Fried Rice" since my absolute go-to here is usually the Pad Thai. It was good, but I think the Pad Thai still remains my fave lol. I also really appreciated how fast our group was served and how attentive they were with refilling our drinks. It felt like my cup was always full haha. read more

Ivory thai is truly a hidden gem in Upland. Their lunch specials are fantastic--great portions, delicious flavors, and an amazing value. Summary: Thai ivory has fantastic flavors, decor, and service. But for portions and value, overpriced Thai ivory is a lovely little restaurant with Thai inspired decor. Walking into this place genuinely called back to my experience in Thailand resorts from years before, and the care the owners put into their restaurants ambiance and decor are of a similarly high level. I was immediately impressed with how lovely the interior was, it is a fantastic spot for a dinner date, or friends/family night out. Service was superb. The host takes pride in his restaurant and culture and it shows. He had a neat and professional vest, button down shirt, and was very put together. He greeted us with a smile, answered questions, and made us feel welcome though we had never been here before. Though English isn't his first language, he gladly communicated flavors and cuisine to us, and even pointed out his authentic Thai basil that Americans couldn't handle (lol). Everything was very quick, I don't think we were there longer than 20 minutes in total. Flavor wise, the food is fantastic. Every dish was aromatic and rich in spices and herbal flavors. If you want tasty Thai flavors, this is the spot. HOWEVER. I am dissatisfied in their portion sizes and actual content of their dishes. For 50$, I feel as though the quantity of the whole dish, as well as the amount of proteins (e.g. chicken, beef, pork) that were in each dish are far too low to justify the cost. Our green curry and pad Thai had maybe 3-5 pieces of meat in them at all. Though the flavors were great, I walked away from the meal highly dissatisfied and disappointed. Considering the amount of care displayed in the decor and service, I wrongly assumed the chefs would want the customer to feel like they've eaten a meal as well. And at the end of the day, I go to a restaurant to eat food. I'd rather eat on the side of the street if it meant tasty food of good value. Which means Thai ivory hit only 50% of that requirement. Not worth my money. 3/5. +1 star if they can fix their portion sizes. read more

Such a cute spot I ordered the beef pad thai and it was sooo good -- really flavorful and just hit the spot. I also tried the money bags, which were tasty, just a little different than what I expected, but still good! And the seasonal mango sticky rice... obsessed. It was so fresh and sweet, I could've finished the whole plate easily They also had a live singer playing guitar, which made the whole vibe feel really cozy and special. I treated my daughter and myself to this wonderful local place. Always such a clean restaurant. We started off with a Thai Iced Tea and 6 Crab Rangoon as an Appetizer. So happy we tried this little gem. The Thai décor was warm and inviting, the welcome and the service was very friendly. My friend and I both ordered off the lunch menu. We both had an amazing cup of broth, an egg roll and a small salad with peanut dressing to start, delicious. Was craving some good Thai food so I went and tried this place with my mom and it was so so good. Every time I go and get Thai food I always get spring rolls and this place hands down had the BEST spring rolls. I also got the chicken pho and it was huge and super delicious. Also, everything was extremely fresh it was amazing. The service was so amazing too, staff was so nice and welcoming. Also, the place from the inside is so calming and cute! My friend and I were really craving mango sticky rice after dinner one day. We called a bunch of Thai restaurants and this was one of the only ones that had it in season. We arrived, ordered the Z mango, sticky rice, and ice Thai tea and iced coffee. The drinks were great - perfectly sweet! The mango sticky rice was even better. Warm, soft chewy and fresh! The rice had a slightly toasted flavor and the texture was just sooo good. And it came in the shape of a heart! Service was fast and amazing, Very homey atmosphere and chill music (live singing from one of the sweet owners!). Everything on the menu is flavorful, delicious, and more than exceptional. Even the beverages are very good. My husband ordered the seafood pho and the server noticed that my husband had finished his broth before his noodles and offered him more broth. On this rainy day my late dinner cravings for hot soup were satisfied beyond expectations. The Tom Kha is one of the best I've tried in the area in 8 yrs of living here. It was creamy, packed with flavor, but also light and refreshing. I mean just look at those beautiful colors of the soup. The tomatoes and mushrooms were fresh and just overall delicious. 2/14/24 Tiny Thai Ivory hidden gem! Happy Valentines Day, folks! Hubby & I decided to try this local Thai cuisine located right next to Le Chef (the server at Le Chef gave them a shout out, saying they have wonderful Thai food). Montclair definitely is not the hub or seat of anything when it comes to great places to eat out. This place though serves up delicious food. No reservations needed, walked in on a Valentines Day (Wednesday) & it was just us crickets lol. One gentleman was singing for us & Hubby requested to turn it down a smidge because it was too loud for him. He happily obliged. Michelle, our server took our order: Chicken Panang curry, shrimp pad thai & eggplant with shrimp. I initially ordered the Thai bbq chicken but they ran out so I ordered the eggplant instead. It's fairly quiet & cozy, the place is dressed for Valentines Day--that and we were the only ones there the entire time we dined. The staff are attentive, polite & look genuinely happy to have us as customers. I did notice that a good amount of foot traffic is from to go orders. Our food arrived promptly & my only complaint is that it didn't arrive all at the same time. Hubby's curry & rice arrived then a bit of time passed until my eggplant & pad Thai arrived. Everything was delicious & savory. Hubby mentioned that he didn't prefer the pad Thai to be that sweet. I just squeezed some lime & added the spicy vinegar & it was perfect. I really liked the eggplant fish but I wish it gad more eggplant though. It really was like a parade of flavors were dancing in my tongue-so good. Likely visiting to try their other dishes.
