What are they bringing inside those plastic containers

Sometimes I would go get their menudo but at times pata would be hairy and menudo didn't taste cleaned at times and then I see this I know their other breakfast was good but now I'm not so sure

My favorite spot in Pomona when I'm craving menudo. But only when they got the pata tho. Love me them tendons. Sometimes it may get busy so be sure sign in and check in with security so they can remember your face. They help secure your place in line and find you when it's your turn. Might get a lil warm in there but they usually turn on the A/C and fans. If anything get agua fresca. Cucumber lime.

It's good, not great. Stopped in for a quick burrito to go and thankfully decided to stay and eat it instead as it was the messiest burrito I've ever had. I don't even think double wrapping it could've saved it. The flavors were good; the staff was efficient and friendly; the store is clean and the outside patio is nice and shaded.

Yummy food, never disappoints! Their Menudo is delish too. 2.50 margaritas during happy hour

The food is always delicious & fresh (made to order) the staff is always nice & brings us more salsa (hot sauce) when we ask for more (it's delicious too) we usually go there for breakfast, but their lunch/dinner items are very tasty too. Menudo is good & tasty.

Simple carne asada fries but really good and also filling. Usually takes a bit to order and then to get your food but not all crazy long and the waiters and waitresses are usually really pleasant and nice so they make the waiters a little easier for you haha.

Still one of my favorite work week lunch spots. The service is friendly and efficient, and the food is so tasty. I like their Carne Asada plate, Carnitas, Tortas, and my vegetarian co-workers love their veggie and potato tacos. Their chips and smooth salsa Roja are two of my favorites from any Mexican restaurant! There's an attached bakery which has various Mexican breads and cakes, although there seems to be less of a selection than in years past. Parking is either on the street or at a public lot nearby. I highly recommend you give El Merendero a try.

The vegan chorizo was incredibly flavorful--you absolutely do not feel like you're sacrificing anything by choosing it. Everything worked perfectly together. We also ordered an al pastor burrito wet, and that was delicious too. The sauce was rich, savory, and full of flavor and took the whole burrito to another level. And the chips and salsa? To die for. Seriously. Even the chips and salsa were memorable. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor, and both the vegan option and the traditional meat option were excellent. We will absolutely be back. I was hoping they would have a Taco Tuesday special or something but they don't... I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor tacos to go. They were prettty solid and delicious! Carne asada was really nice, the al pastor was definitely more flavorful, but it had more of the burnt ends, so it was either even more flavorful from the charred parts, or it was a bit hard and too crispy to have. Overall, still pretty nice though. I liked how they had the side bar, which it doesn't look entirely the cleanest, but pretty decent. Total for 3 tacos came out to be $9, so it's about $3 each. Kinda high for tacos imo, but they're pretty good.

Parking is limited, so we were happy to snag one of the last spots. This is an order-at-the-counter spot with a salsa bar, hot beans, indoor and outdoor seating, and even Mexican Coke. Indoor seating is also pretty limited, so my friend and I were glad to grab one of the small tables. I ordered the lengua and asada tacos and both were flavorful, tender, and loaded with meat. I was honestly too hungry and eager to take a picture beforehand, but I can assure you the portions are plentiful. The tacos were a little greasy, but still really satisfying. Solid taco spot if you're in Pomona.

Joanna from the second we walked in, made us feel like family. The server was attentive without being overbearing and had great recommendations for the menu. Unfortunately, we did have to wait around 30-40 minutes for the buffet to be ready.. we were served mimosas right away, which was nice. Now.. when it came down to the food, one person in my party did find a vey long hair in her chile relllenos. We made it know to our waitress.. which was a sweet person throughout everything!! Then we were told that the chilaquiles and taco station was now open.. so we headed down to it. There was no one to great us at the station. We stood around for around 10 minutes and no one showed up. So at that moment I grabbed a bowel of menudo. Lucky me!! I also grabbed a long hair in my menudo.. my sister in law thought it was a piece of onion but it was not! It was a very long strand of hair. At that point we all tried our best to make the best of it and enjoy the mariachi and mimosas. Then when I returned to the taco/chilaquile station the lady was very rude!! She bluntly asked what we wanted instead of telling us our options.. and I said I'll have 2 chorizo tacos please.. she said where's your plate?? I wasn't aware that I had to give her a plate to serve me. It was an overall horrible experience. Especially because we were literally the only party in the entire place besides the mariachi. The mariachi and our server were the only pleasant people that morning. I will never be returning.

The outside of the establishment may not be entirely appealing, but what awaits within is sure to warm your heart. Eating their food feels like an ode from the heart. It is reminiscent of pulling off to the side of the road to a Mariscos food truck in Tijuana. The food is comforting and reminds you of how Hispanic culture brings people together through food and music. All the staff here is very kind and have a lively spirit. As you are enjoying your food it is warming to hear them laughing, enjoying each other's company, and Bad Bunny music of course. I had the Tostada Mixta pictured below and believe it or not I had already dug in and eaten a whole tostada by the time I remembered to snap a pic. The portions are very generous and for the price, can't be beat! The Tacos de Camaron are flavor packed with every bite. These are freshly cooked to order and you can tell by the temperature, be careful. I can't describe them to anything else I have had in the past as they are so unique in the best way. Not pictured is the aguachiles. As spicy as they are, I couldn't find myself putting them down. The flavor keeps you hooked wanting more and more. But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.
