My wife and I made reservations two weeks in advance for a much-needed date night at McKinley's Grillhouse inside the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Conference Center. We were excited. Unfortunately, the evening began on a disappointing note. We waited 38 minutes before anyone took our order. Several tables were vacant, so it felt less like "busy night chaos" and more like "we forgot you were here." We never officially met our original server, and for a moment we wondered if we had accidentally booked a silent retreat instead of dinner. That said... this is where the story turns. Hugh (forgive me if I misspelled it -- my wife is usually right ) stepped in and completely changed the trajectory of our night. Attentive, kind, professional -- he brought warmth and urgency that should be bottled and used for staff training everywhere. The steak? Absolutely phenomenal. One of the best meals we've had in months. We did have a hiccup with dessert that could have been serious, but once we brought it to their attention, Tim, the manager, took full accountability. No defensiveness. No excuses. Just ownership and a genuine desire to make it right. That matters. If the night had ended with the initial experience, we wouldn't be back. But because of Hugh and Tim -- their humility, professionalism, and care -- we will return and we will refer our friends. Great food is important. Character is unforgettable. read more

We came here to celebrate my daughter's graduation. We have made a reservation in advanced for 18 people, sat outdoor (beautiful ambiance). The servers were attentive and had great table manners. The food looked fantastic and had big portion. Presentation was top notch. Everything was fresh and delicous. The steaks were cooked to perfection (medium rare). I am so happy with the service we received. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We'll be back again. Thank you McKinley Grille! read more

Started off with great service. We were staying at the Sheraton hotel and they welcomed us warmly. Mentioned that they had dine-in, delivery and pick up. They also mentioned that delivery had a fee so if we just pick up, it would be cheaper which was nice to know and easy since we were staying there. Ordered two food items on two mornings with coffee. They have regular coffee and their espresso Starbucks machine allowing for more options (yay coffee fans). They also call your room when your food is ready to pick up so you can continue getting ready while you wait. They even grabbed me change from the front desk so I could break a note. Great service. read more

What a gem of a place! This restaurant is located inside the Sheraton Fairplex in Pomona. At first I was worried because this was really the only place to eat at the hotel and there is nothing to eat within walking distance. THANKFULLY this place is really good. I came here for breakfast and loved it. I got the Monte Cristo and added scrambled eggs to the sandwich. Honestly... probably the best Monte Cristo I've ever had! Everything was cooked perfect and the seasonal blackberry jam took it to the next level. It also came with potatoes which were good. $20 seems a little expensive for a breakfast that small, but with no other eating options, I'm glad the quality at least kind of justified the price. Definitely come here for breakfast if you're staying here. read more

Well, sadly we have been let down this year. Came in for a drink, as we always do, prior to going to the fair. The bar was filthy, the service was... well there was no service. Everyone was waiting forever. So much so, that we all went to the takeout side of the bar to order. What has happened? Did you not realize the fair was taking place?? This spot is actually connected to the Sheraton at the Pomona Fairplex, and it's such a hidden gem! The place has huge windows that let in tons of natural light--perfect for that sunny, relaxed vibe. The service? Absolutely fabulous. And bonus: they serve Starbucks and have what looks like a seriously high-end espresso machine, so your coffee game is in very good hands! read more

We threw a memorable birthday celebration for my wife at McKinley Grille, and it turned out to be an extraordinary experience! Our friend Maricar had organized a reservation for a party of 20, and the restaurant's accommodation was nothing short of exceptional. They set us up in a private room that ensured we had the perfect blend of celebration and privacy. Situated within the Sheraton Fairplex & Conference Center Hotel, McKinley Grille offers the luxury of abundant parking, making our arrival hassle-free. Right from the moment we stepped in, the staff displayed a level of attentiveness that made us feel like VIPs. Their dedication to ensuring our experience was special was evident throughout the evening. Our party dined on a delectable selection that catered to everyone's palate. The Crispy Calamari (4/5) made for a delightful start, setting the tone for what was to follow. The Prime Ribeye Steak (4.7/5) was cooked to perfection, earning praise from even the most discerning steak aficionados. The Jidori Chicken (4.4/5) and McKinley Burger (4/5) offered flavorful alternatives, each leaving a satisfying mark. The Farm Raised Atlantic Salmon (4.1/5) showcased freshness, and the House Special Chicken Wings (4/5) were a hit with everyone around the table. The Caesar's Salad (4.2/5) was a classic choice that didn't disappoint. The diverse selection meant everyone found something to savor and enjoy. Our birthday dinner celebration was an absolute success, thanks to the combination of delectable dishes and the impeccable service that we received. The staff's attentiveness added a layer of warmth to the occasion, making us feel cherished throughout the evening. The restaurant's interior, being part of the Sheraton Hotel, is nothing short of upscale. The decor exudes sophistication, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Cleanliness is clearly a priority, as the restaurant and restrooms were immaculate. The restrooms, in particular, were spotless, meeting our expectations for a high-quality dining establishment. I wholeheartedly recommend McKinley Grille, especially for large gatherings. Our experience was top-notch, and the staff's attention to detail truly made the evening special. As we left, we couldn't help but look forward to returning in the future for another exceptional dining experience. I picked up some food to go from this grille while staying at the Sheraton hotel and needing a quick dinner one night! The turkey club sandwich was delicious! Totally hit the spot and you get to choose what side you want- I opted for a salad, which was also delicious. The bread was so fresh and the veggies were crisp! It was packaged up in a container and bag for me to take to go, which was nice for carrying to my room. I noticed several items on the menu that looked tasty, so would recommend giving them a try! The waitress taking my order was friendly and served me a glass of wine while I waited for my food to be ready. Definitely a convenient place right in the Sheraton hotel. read more

My review is based on two experiences. 1. Dinner - Overall service was very good. Server was prompt and attentive and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I had the McKinley's burger which was really good! Nice and tall burger that tasted great. Your side is a choice of fries, salad, fruit or sweet potato fries. I ordered sweet potato and it was good! Reasonable price for the plate at $20. 2. Breakfast - It is a buffet style breakfast which had offerings of eggs scrambled soft (plus to me, I don't like overcooked eggs), pancakes (really good!), seasoned potatoes, bacon, veggie frittata, and sausage (did not like at all, it's really dense and I have no idea what it is made of). The beverage service during breakfast was a lot different than dinner. The server took our drink order but completely disappeared. It was a good while before we hailed down a manager who helped get our beverages. The breakfast buffet is a bit pricey - about $28/person. read more

Visited the fair the night before and stayed overnight at the hotel. Had breakfast here the next morning. Diana my waitress was excellent. Took my order promptly and refilled my coffee without asking. Had the meat omelet with potatoes. The food was just average. Potatoes were cooked well but had no flavor to them. The omelet was ok but very oily (more than just from the cheese). The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and comfortable not pretentious. A much better experience than my last time here a couple of years ago. read more

Came by on 1/15/2023 after spending the afternoon at Pomona Fairplex for the Asian Expo. With the rain coming down wanted a nice sit down place to chill and have dinner. This place popped up with openings located in the Sheraton Hotel. Parking is easy and free. We were greeted by the staff and Priscilla who was taking care of us. Priscilla at McKinley's Grill is truly amazing. She made our dining experience truly wonderful with her professionalism and friendliness. It was like connecting with a friend we hadn't seen in a while. Her manager, Brandon, should be proud as she is a true asset to the restaurant. Her great attitude and demeanor are a testament to the great workplace, leadership and company that McKinley's Grill is. We highly recommend this restaurant and specifically ask for Priscilla as your server. She raved about the deserts and even have a flourless chocolate cake. Very LA. We're looking forward to coming back and having desert and other meals. read more

Staff is friendly and helpful, but they are understaffed so being seated and served takes a long time - don't come here if you are on a tight schedule. Also, the food quality isn't consistent. I had a wonderful burger and my husband had a fantastic salad and later pasta, but my soup was frozen (couldn't have it at lunch because it was "still frozen") and SUPER salty when I had the defrosted soup later. Most of the food is crazy salty. Limited options as well on breakfast. No gluten free options. Overall not terrible, but not great. We enjoyed eating off-site more. There are some great restaurant alternatives in nearby Claremont. I would rate it 2.5 if i could, but went 3 stars for staff read more

We went here for dinner and everything was amazing. 1. Jidori chicken- I'm not a fan of chicken because I always fear it will be dry. To my surprise it was flavorful and juicy. Potatoes and veggies that went with it was a great accompaniment that gave it a perfect balance and elevated the dish. I licked the plate clean. 2. Beyond burger- It was made just right, the first time around. Balsamic glaze was a nice twist. The butter lettuce and tomatoes were very fresh. Inconsistent. Next day. Not as delish. A little overdone. No pickle. Truffle fries were good both days. But tossed more evenly the first time. 3. Kimchi fried rice - delicious. I wish it came with the rest of the food so I could've had it with chicken. 4. Cheese burger- so juicy and delicious 5. Breakfast burrito- pretty bland read more

We come out for a huge car show for over 20 It's going to be a big crowd, but every year they are completely understaffed. The staff is kind, but they're so overwhelmed, and the service ends up being terrible. We came for breakfast on a Saturday and the restaurant was quite empty, but started filling up a little more around 9/9:30am. The host was quite apathetic, but our server was very friendly and happy. I also got a pumpkin spice latte, but it tasted mostly like warm milk, with little coffee flavor or spice flavor. read more

We loved McKinley's. We came after the Fair for dinner. Our Server Angel, was amazing. Attentive, friendly and polite service. Wish all Servers gave his level of service. The food was delicious. We ordered the Sliders which were the best I've ever had. The meat was out of this world. I ordered a Full Entree Caesar Salad with Steak my BF ordered a Cobb Salad with Chicken. The dressings were great. And the greens were so fresh and tasty. We opted to eat our lunch here on day two as well. Their food is so much better than anything you can get at the fair. And actually fairly priced. We might be back for dinner and breakfast tomorrow before we head home. Don't miss this hidden gem inside the Sheraton Pomona Fairplex. This review is for the Sunday all you can eat buffet. There are many positives. The servers were there when you needed something and invisible otherwise. Very well trained, attentive, professional, and friendly. Omelettes were good and the coffee was decent. Fresh fruit was great, perfectly ripened and tasty. Downsides? Potatoes and French Toast from the warming trays, both were lukewarm at best and not at all enjoyable to eat. There was a very limited number of fillings for the omelettes, only three veggies (plus cheese and meats). The salsa was hidden away and you ladled it out of a plastic container into a small bowl, not a big deal but certainly unusual. The pastries were just ok. What is frustrating is that going to 4 or even 5 stars would not be that hard. Make sure the warming trays keep the food hot. Add a couple more veggie options for the omelette (jalapenos!). Put the salsa out with the other condiments. While not cheap, pricing is not out of line with other hotel restaurants, and we would return for the buffet...even with the downsides. read more

I've been meaning to Yelp our amazing experience and am finally getting to it. We always stay at the Sheraton when the Reptile Expo is going on. After the auction, everyone makes their way to the bar to eat before heading to our rooms. This past Expo, we didn't get to the bar on time and there were no seats available for our group of 7. My husband peeked over to the restaurant and asked the manager (I forget her name and I'm so sorry for that) if they were closed for the night. She cheerfully said they could seat us outside on the patio since it was a beautiful night. We absolutely did not want to be a burden and they made us feel extremely welcomed. Our server (I want to say her name was Tammy, but I could be wrong) was an absolute doll. We all ordered food and drinks, she had no problems with splitting tabs, and made sure we were all taken care of. We could tell she had to go on break cause someone else looked after us for a while and she was just as amazing. Our food was good as always, but the service was the highlight of our experience. I just wanted to thank the amazing servers and managers for staying later than they should have to make sure we had a great time. We stay there 3 times a year and every time, service is impeccable! For our Friday night dinner, we decided to go to a more quiet and relaxed place. This restaurant is perfect, it's inside Sheraton Hotel, and they are not overly busy. We ordered tindori chicken and salmon. The chicken was Juicy and skin was crispy. It came with few pieces of potatoes and mushrooms. The flavor was a little bit salty for me and how I wished there were more potatoes to balance it out but overall it was delicious! Salmon with asparagus were very well seasoned and it came with mashed potatoes. Again, we wished there was a little bit more mashed potatoes. Our dessert was creme brulee, not overly sweet- it was perfect for my liking! Great dining experience in the city of Pomona. Highly recommend this place. Great service and great food! read more

We stay at the Sheraton every year for the grand national roadster show and always eat at McKinleys grill, it's easy and convenient and has always been good in the past. Well this is the last time we'll be eating there. Asked for a red wine glass (for a nice bottle of red) and received a regular wine glass that was incredibly dirty. There was cinnamon sugar dumped all over our sweet potato fries (gross), the childrens macaroni and cheese that says "elbow macaroni with a three cheese sauce" is actually KRAFT, which I don't feed my child. And the $12 cheesecake is not much bigger than a silver dollar. read more

This is my 2nd Time eating here at the McKinley grill, and I must say the food is absolutely delicious. The McKinley burger is so tasty, very fresh and the perfect size. Salmon full of flavor with yummy mashed potatoes. The Perfect place to enjoy a brunch with family or friends. The mimosas were yummy and perfectly portioned ;) I love the cute balcony they have with some seating surrounding a fireplace and fire pits. It wasn't that busy at all for a Sunday morning/ early afternoon. I love how it's across the street from the park, perfect to walk right over before or after on a nice day. The restaurant was decent. It's in the hotel lobby. The service was honestly terrible and it took forever to get waited on in the bar and there was only 1-2 people working at a time. The food came out pretty slowly, even when there was nobody else around. The hamburger and sandwich were both good and the ingredients were fresh as advertised. The restaurant itself seemed dated, but it was convenient and had good food. I stayed at this hotel for three weeks and ate here 4-5 times because it was good food and convenient. This restaurant is inside the Sheraton Hotel. The food is good, but it is crazy overpriced. The service is good. I am a Marriott Titanium Elite members. I have almost 100 nights in Marriott hotels this year. I travel a lot. I get perks. Here, I chose free breakfast. They have a nice buffet here. Not the usual crappy one. My free breakfast did not give me the buffet. If gave me a list of basic menu entrees I could choose from. A discount menu for the discount breakfast. I did not feel elite. I felt cheated. How much would it really cost them to show their regular customers a little love? I have stayed at this particular hotel a lot. The management has made the breakfast perk worse and worse over time. I think I need to look for somewhere else to stay. read more
