Our first visit started off pretty rough. We arrived about 20 minutes before happy hour ended. We were brought water, but no one came to our table for several minutes. When we finally asked a server that was standing close by but never came over until I asked if she was our server, we will just call "C" replied, "Yes, unfortunately." Not exactly the best first impression. Her next comment was, "You have 3 minutes to get your happy hour order in," which made us feel rushed instead of welcomed. As for the food, we upgraded to the Wagyu surf and turf. Unfortunately, both the steak and lobster were chewy. The wedge salad was actually the highlight, although I specifically ordered it without blue cheese dressing or blue cheese crumbles, and it still came covered in crumbles. She offered to remake it, but we're just not the type to send food back. We were dining with three other couples, and only one person enjoyed their ribeye. Everyone else commented that their steaks were chewy and had an odd texture. I absolutely love meat cellar!! I have been a few times in the last few months since discovering it last August. Every single time has been spectacular. I'd recommend ordering off the Butcher Counter and ordering a few sides to share. The only complaint I have is that the mac and cheese is no longer the same. We had the amazing Bacon which was our favorite item! The fries were delicious, the oysters Rockefeller and the roasted bone marrow were delightful. There was salt on the back of the plate for the bone marrow but we only noticed it after we ate half of it so make sure you add a strong sprinkle of the salt first before putting it on the crustinis. The service was good too, Pablo was the bartender; we enjoyed dinner at the bar top. The location was very busy on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm and so that's why we chose the bar top because it's a bit intimidating when you first walk in because it's one large room. The worst part is the wagyu tasted gamey and tough... and we all know there is a grading system for "wagyu" so this must've been the lowest. My wife had the sea bass which was miso and was delicious especially with a little bit of the horseradish from the oysters. I had the fillet, and was not disappointed. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was good but not quite worth the nearly 2.5X markup. The charcuterie was excellent--especially the mini chorizo, which was absolutely delicious. For mains, we shared the aged tomahawk steak and ordered sides: lobster mac and cheese, mushrooms (perfectly marinated), and mashed potatoes (good but could've been smoother). The steak was underwhelming--while the flavor was good but, the quality didn't justify the price. It was overly chewy, even though we ordered it medium rare. We finally went to the Meat Cellar and I'm angry we waited so long! It was amazing. We went for dinner and caught the tail end of the Happy Hour. We ordered the lemon drop and mai tai off the Happy Hour menu and we didn't love either of them. My husband then ended up getting an Old Fashioned which he loved. We also got the fried pickles (which we loved) and truffle fries (they were heavy and a bit greasy). From the regular dinner menu we had the Caesar Salad, which was the best Caesar we have ever had. We also had the lobster Mac and cheese which was good. My favorite part of the dinner was the grilled asparagus. It was amazing!! I think they were a little over enthusiastic with the charring though, which made it a little dry on the surface. It was served on a bed of fries which were quite greasy but I'm not fussy with fries. They serve merely as a vessel for ketchup, and these were thick hearty fries with plenty for ketchup to hold on to. The beef rib poutine was rather salty. The beef was very tender though.
